I think we are getting a bit impatient. We are currently strongly linked with Lukaku and De Bryune, and we seem much likely to get them. They are certainly not starter material, however it does underline the fact we are active in the mercato. Plus, the transfer window has yet to open in all countries.

I doubt he will come back here... Though, it would be an interesting sign.
-
Ahah, I don't know why, but at this club we love to play central players on the wing (Anelka, Kalou, Ivanovic)...
-
A ) Yeah, I know he is more a second striker than an winger. But it happens that each games I saw of him (and each match highlight as well) he was playing on the wing. I know he isn't the kind of player to stay next to the touchline, he plays more ala Robben/Messi (he starts his run on the wing then he cuts inside). But, at the opposite of Anelka and Malouda, he is able to beat his man, to cross, to make quick passes, to speed the game. B ) It was in 2008/2009. The next season is the 2011/2012. Two years will be passed, and as the saying goes in french « a lot of water will have flowed under the bridge ». Back then he was 29 years-old, next year he will be 31 years-old. That's a big difference, especially for a winger (for who the speed and pace are important). C ) It was last year. Did you see how he played poorly this year ? To my honest opinion, next season he will be more likely to play like he did this year than the last year, ie bad. And yes Neymar isn't world class neither. But at the opposite of Malouda who next year would be useless as he will be very old, Neymar is an upcoming star. Furthermore, about what I did see, Neymar's qualities are more interesting for us than Malouda's. D ) LOL

"Uno de los objetivos, casi una obsesión de Florentino Pérez, es dar con el futuro Messi." And there's no Mourinho mentioned in this article. Can we assume it would be a Pérez' purchase then ? If so and if this transfer happens, I would be curious to see Mourinho's reaction ps : And I don't see the point for them to buy him. As 'fanciful' players, they already have Ronaldo, Ozil, Sahin and Di Maria. And it is not like if Mourinho likes to play a lot of this kind of players...

Governments should use this example to show how alcohol could be pestilante for human beings lol ! "don't drink alcohol, otherwise you will be caught complimenting the scouses."
-
No ! Sturridge isn't a winger, he is a striker and has to be played as a striker. As for Malouda, he isn't what we can call a winger. He doesn't cross, and when he does so his cross are awful, he can't beat his man, he can't accelerate the game and he is a selfish player. The fact is that we don't have any wingers, and the only few we have - ie Malouda - is not good enough. We need to buy at least one winger, and if we happen to rely on Malouda next season for winger, I wouldn't expect us to improve a lot.
-
Basically what you said. I'm all for having a lot of english players, granted they are good enough !! And the fact is, english players are no longer good enough ! They are only few of them we can say they have a « world class » level, and there are only few young players who can become very good players. So I won't admire and jealous Liverpool for having Henderson and Caroll. Henderson might become a good player, but if we want to beat team such as Barcelona, he wouldn't be a starting XI material.
-
I am disagree. Neymar and Sanchez aren't impulse buyings. They both play on the wing, and we all know how great Anelka and Kalou are when playing on the wing. A winger is a much needed buy, so they wouldn't be a fantasy as Lukaku.
-
Yeah, I'm fully agreed with you here. I was only saying that because we were talking about « merit ». At the end of the day, we have what we deserve.
-
No, that ain't a lack of patience. Well, the following part will just be an assumption as we don't know what RA wants and thinks. To my mind, Ancelotti was appointed on the purpose to win the Champions League within a short period, with the current squad of back then. I don't think he was hired to build something over a long period. His 3-years contract just proove that, if you ask me. In my honest opinion, had he finished second in a more fashionable way and proved something better in UCl, he will have been given his third year, but his contract wouldn't have been renewed. But anyway, we know fuck all about what is in Roman's mind. So to draw conclusions is impossible.
-
As we are speaking of merit : he may has came second, but we didn't deserved to be second.
-
It isn't because people doesn't share the same view as you that they know nothing about football.
-
Mate, we are unable to know if that's enough or not, since we didn't use them at all.
-
****** - ****** - ****** - Bertrand Rodwell Clifford - McEachran Kakuta - Sturridge - ****** Four english players, four players coming from our academy, and 6 homegrown players. Wouldn't it be great ? :eyebrows:

Money makes the world go round.

Qualities and abilities = the horrific way we played this year ? Anyway, I don't really want to argue about what has achieved Ancelotti. And abilities and qualities don't mean to win silverware, not at all. To motive players is an ability/quality for instance. So, my point is, if Roman wants a coach able to motivate his players and to promote youth, and that Ancelotti can't offer those things, then he isn't the right man for the job.
-
We ain't a charity club. If Ancelotti doesn't have the qualities and abilities whom Roman is searching for, then the sack is logical.
-
Lol ! When he signed for Monaco last summer he was supposed to turn into the new Drogba

Oooops, I mixed month and week... I need to sleep more... Thanks for the correction. edit : I gotta find that on a poor source... It would be really weird if he is only on a £70k-per-week wage..
-
Thanks for the editing. This kit is merely ugly. Our kits are getting more and more ugly. I usualy like adidas, but I'm getting bored of them, I would like something simple which ressembles to Chelsea for once, not those fantasy kits.
-
Mixed feelings for me. He is a great player, he is still young and he is the kind of player we need. However, I'm concerned about his wage. I found that it was something about 330 000 € per month, which represents £290k per month I guess. hence I'd rather us to get someone lesser hyped. And by the way, ain't he be an injury-prone player ?
-
McEachran+Sturridge+Bertrand+Rodwell - in other words 4 english players - in our team ? You're a big dreamer mate But I gotta admit, you have good dream and I like this one

This world is insane. RIP
