The thing is that Pep has coached the best team in the world, won two UCL, he is coaching some of the best players in the world, and certainly some big egos. i mean, I believe it will be better if he gets two or three more years of experience before joining us... At least, one year of UCL. Not that I doubt of his abilities, just that I think it could only be better for both him and us.

If he plans to buy Pep Guardiola, then I'd rather Hiddink to do one season or two (depends on when he wants to leave Barca) and then leave the way to Pep. If RA plans to buy someone like Villas-Boas, then I'd agree with you. Hiddink to make 3-5 seasons here, while AVB gets experience at Porto.

What I like with the fact Hiddink as our manager, is that unlike Ancelotti and all, he will likely have full control over the transfert targets, in the choice of the kind of players we need and stuff. At least he will have a big role in those decisions. And we can hope Abramovich will interfere less than usual in football matters. Indeed, Roman seems to have a big respect for Guus, and he seems to hear him and have confidence in him. It could only be good for the smooth functioning of the team.

You hit the nail on the head. We don't sign him because he would be perfect for us. We seem to prefere the players we don't need to the players we need, and we seem to miss each one of them (ie Silva).
