  1. It’s about 18m overpriced but fair to say LWB is locked down for aslong as Chilly and Cruella can co-exist. Glad Levi doesnt appear to be leaving permanently.would have been another Guehi..(Tomori atleast was given a chance before being sold prematurely)
  2. Conor may be seen as someone to cover for Mount aswell as elsewhere. Also consider we can play multiple formations even including more than 2 that include a back 3 and Wingbacks. Jorginho may be happy but i don’t think he’s one of Tommy’s guys really if he gets long enough to shape it exactly as he wants.Kante is much loved but better to have as an extra to wheel out for the big games now rather than expect him to last the grind of a 50plus game season. It is overkill for this season but when 2 are expected to leave next season.with FDJ being perfect for him.why wait till next year if we could possibly get him now. I expect one will leave if we get FDJ in but worrying about that shouldnt close the door to oppurtunities to improve.
  3. I think we’ve seen what the future will look like under TB with the younger signings.his hand was forced abit this window for us remain CL team next year and maybe challenge for some cups this year. In a nutshell i think he’ll spend big when he needs to and in future play harder to get a good deal but overall will look to unearth young talent before their price explodes.
  4. For a little light relief from our transfer window saga after saga.i suggest a Tolstoy novel.
  5. Decrease offer by a million for each day left waiting..gives us 10 days before it equals the 2nd best offer they got. Brighton are in the largest group of clubs in world football.stepping stone clubs.being a stepping stone club in the best division is the pinnacle for such clubs but when they stop accepting their role then they gonna struggle to attract the potentially great players in the future and end up having to shop in the minor leagues again. It’s not good longterm business sense for them to play hardball with a team that offers about 18m over market value.
  6. Buy him but loan him back for the season with option to cancel loan inserted.
  7. Presuming we sign Fofana or another probable starter. Still only leaves us with Colwill (who himself has been linked with a move away) and Big Trev for cover.would be nice to keep him for depth.
  8. Is only probably RLC who may be seen as a better option for 24 out of him,Gilmour and Barkley for this season.all seem to be available for departures in one capacity or another.4th or 5th option CM atleast until January be a good decision i think.give him 5 months training with the first team even if he isnt judged to be ready yet isnt gonna derail his career. It’s probably accepted that either of or both Jorginho and Kante aren’t gonna be with us this time next year.but could be good for potentially one of their longtern replacements to spend some time with them rather than.loans arent the generic one size fits all response to having a talented young player.lets have a closer look at him first..he’s already played more PL games than most his age but still young enough that he doesnt have to play 40plus games a year.
  9. Fofana is too much of a risk for me for the price. would rather go with Skriniar, cheaper, more proven,no major injury, plays for a country that doesnt qualify for major tournaments all plus points for me.
  10. Always dubious of goal totals from Brazilian sources.when you look at Pele’ career goals total..is like if they haven’t fixed the numbers, then they have counted goals in street football as official.
  11. When we stuck with no other option i think we should use the “make a wish come true-play a random fan” scheme.
  12. At present we probably a year away from being able to switch to a back 4 (Silva may be done then and Trev could be sacrificed) if we wanted to but bidding for Ake and Kounde suggests that is not in the plans..ya don’t put that kind of money on the table for back up fullbacks that are too short to play inside in a 4. Those two are seen as being more flexible than they are really.likes of KK,Skriniar,Gvardiol are the kind that would give us formation flexibility.as all can do good in back 3’s or 4’s. Inacio has a 39m santa in his contract..if we want to go for for a quicker deal.
  13. I honestly think this summer window will be the last of it’s kind for a while. Tuchel whilst should have the final say on players will have people to unearth gems that he is too busy to be looking for.We were put in a pretty desperate situation by losing 2 of our 3 best CB’s. I expect in next few windows maybe before they officially open we will return to days of dipping into the great football tadpole pools of the likes of Dinamo Zagreb and getting talent just as they beginning to rise rather than holding back until they are at bigger clubs who slap 50m price tags on anyone remotely likely to be half decent. the youngsters we signed from other english clubs have been one of the few highlights of the window and although we need some veterans.we got two high quality ones so far. Like i said earlier the pool of talent that can do a job in a back 3 is thankfully the strongest in world football so we should be ok aslong as we don’t shit the bed. WB and DM then we can mount a challenge..i’m ok with our front 3..no point trying to answer question marks with more question marks.
  14. They have about 6 new players waiting in their lobby to be paid in bouncy cheques.
  15. I think he’s fine as a false 9 link up and decent enough finisher. Tuchel overplayed him because of the lack of alternatives,Broja offers him a good alternative and someone to put up a better fight, give Kai enough a rest when needed etc.much more fluid front 3 with Havertz and Broja. I’m not looking at the CF has to be the main scorer, just a centerpoint to score and just as importantly bring others into play.
  16. Beech,Sturge and Hutchinson good signings too. I’d say Kounde is the risky pick but still quite safe really. No glaring “wtf are they doing signing him” buys yet. I’d give them 7 out of 10 so far. Still work to do and is gonna take time to re-train the minds of other clubs when they deal with us in the market. Would have liked us to have made inter give up something more to get Le Wardrobe back
  17. Sterling-Havertz-Mount Is pretty much set in stone as our most regular front 3. Behind them it’s Pulisic,Broja,Werner,CHO and Ziyech..with some highly rated youngsters behind them. There’s nobody really available that i’d be confident are upgrades over them. Let them grow..maybe Sterling can help them.
  18. Will be shocked if we signed somebody else for our back 3 unless it’s something like Gvardiol but with an immediate loan back for a year. I only see us signing a WB and a DM now. As doesnt appear like we gonna be offloading the amount expected before.
  19. Thankfully defenders that can play in a back 3 (as in true CB’s or Full backs that can play tucked in) is by far the deepest talent pool in world football. Of course some aren’t likely to be available or have chosen Barcelona,Bayern etc..instead but there’s still plenty of options. Even if we just looking for some depth. KK and Silva will be regular starters,Trev,Colwill,Ampadu options for the 3rd spot at present.which wouldnt be too bad but could do with another option.because 6th choice for Malang Sarr is way too close to starting for my nerves. Tuchel seems to like someone who could cover a WB position from the interest in Ake and Kounde even though neither have played good when in those position. Personally i’d prefer someone who can play edge of a back 3 and be a solid FB if required..someone like say a Klostermann or Pavard, then go for a true WB for depth there.
  20. i wouldnt blame Kounde if he chose to sign with someondy else.we have blown hot and cold on him.i know his club has played a part in that, but if he’s followed who we’ve been in for before coming back to him, wouldn’t blame him if he felt like “a rebound”. Alot different to the Raphina situation.
  21. Broja signed a 5 year contract with us last year.there should be no fight to keep him. i understand some youngsters wanting to leave for more gametime if we stacked in their position.but really all we have ahead of him is Havertz.plenty of game time for him,he’s a good fit for what Tuchel wants at CF.he leaves for West Ham then in a few years he’ll want to play for a big club again and West Ham will do what they doing with Rice.
  22. Thanks.he had stage 4 cancer since November 2020 so is not so much a shock. He’s at peace now but still probably bitter over us selling Jimmy G..he couldnt ever let that shit slide.he’d say that was the end of his childhood.😬
  23. Is my dads funeral tomorrow.another one gone of the few that witnessed Chelsea winning all their major trophies in their history.
  24. Don’t think we’ll sign any more for our front 3.i think we’ll continue to be linked but when it comes to it unless a couple of our current crop are sold then we’ll address other areas instead. starting 3 Sterling-Havertz-Mount .plus Pulisic,Werner,Broja,CHO even if Ziyech leaves (i personally would only let him leave if sold outright) there may be the odd upgrade still available but i wouldnt say starting material ahead of our current front 3. for me priorities should be 1.DM 2.CB(i don’t believe like reported we will actually sign 2 more, just more than 1 target that only 1 will we pull the trigger on)3.RWB. then depends on who we sell.
  25. Probably the most consistant “flair player” we’ve had since GZ. He’s played for rival teams but never thought of him as a knobhead..not appreciated by factions of England fans so he’ll fit in with ours. surprised we got him really as would have thought he’d like to play in another league but maybe the pull of coming home to London was stronger for him.
