Only Keeper and CF where we will potentially pay big in the near future(although may not need too if our young grow good there) Sure Caicedo is overpriced,we could have got another good DM/CM plus another good player at another position for his likely cost but overall i'd say we are ahead due to players we've got as bargains in the current market,our investment in young players and players coming through our youth system far outweighs paying 30m or so over the odds for Caicedo. And we still likely to buy 1-3 others.

I like Conor but only really has value in a midfield 3.much like most CM players we have had over last 10 years or so to various degrees. Even the mighty Kante when fit was better in a 3 than a 2. Conor is too much of a spaniel for it! We've already been offered more than he is worth to us in a 4-2-3-1. I like Kudus alot,liked him abit more than Olise due to so much positional flexibility,but Olise is Kevin Sheedy/Ziyech left peg with speed,plus offers more than Sheedy/Ziyech and the best option if looking for a pure wide man. Cherki is probably the biggest boom or bust prospect of the entire window.and like Olise pretty much only potentially great in one position.

One of Zubimendi,Lavia or Caqueret + One of Kudus or Olise, for less than Brighton might accept for Caicedo. We went in too low with our first bid really (even though it wasn't too low for what is Caicedo's true value) if we fold and Brighton get us to pay 40m above our original offer it's gonna hinder future negotiations and if we had made a higher first offer i think it would have been resolved either way by now.

I think the club only see Caicedo being better than Santos will be soon so if not Caicedo then will go for cheaper option be that an experienced player for a few years or even a loan move,not sure of the market there,but have considered how Zakaria would have been a better option this season instead of last. Think the earlier in the offseason comments about another aswell as Ugarte have changed since Poch has had a closer look at our young players.i also think atleast one of our 2 CC's will play deeper than they have in pre-season and if we get Kudus,then Conor can be sold,he is a decent player but not a natural fit when we aren't playing a 4-3-3.

I'm more concerned when players have re-occuring injuries like multiple ACL tears etc... from what i've seen that doesn't appear to have been the case with him,a moderate knee injury,an ankle injury..sounds pretty run of the mill stuff..

Kudus just makes too much sense when Poch wants a small squad.he'd either start at RW/RAM or be a great Sub option that covers 4 positions. 20m +Ziyech seems a good offer to atleast start with. Olise for me is potentially great but only really out wide and the gammy hammy is a concern (though Giggs had those issues early on and ended up playing for 20 years)
