  1. Sterling-Havertz-Mount Is pretty much set in stone as our most regular front 3. Behind them it’s Pulisic,Broja,Werner,CHO and Ziyech..with some highly rated youngsters behind them. There’s nobody really available that i’d be confident are upgrades over them. Let them grow..maybe Sterling can help them.
  2. Will be shocked if we signed somebody else for our back 3 unless it’s something like Gvardiol but with an immediate loan back for a year. I only see us signing a WB and a DM now. As doesnt appear like we gonna be offloading the amount expected before.
  3. Thankfully defenders that can play in a back 3 (as in true CB’s or Full backs that can play tucked in) is by far the deepest talent pool in world football. Of course some aren’t likely to be available or have chosen Barcelona,Bayern etc..instead but there’s still plenty of options. Even if we just looking for some depth. KK and Silva will be regular starters,Trev,Colwill,Ampadu options for the 3rd spot at present.which wouldnt be too bad but could do with another option.because 6th choice for Malang Sarr is way too close to starting for my nerves. Tuchel seems to like someone who could cover a WB position from the interest in Ake and Kounde even though neither have played good when in those position. Personally i’d prefer someone who can play edge of a back 3 and be a solid FB if required..someone like say a Klostermann or Pavard, then go for a true WB for depth there.
  4. i wouldnt blame Kounde if he chose to sign with someondy else.we have blown hot and cold on him.i know his club has played a part in that, but if he’s followed who we’ve been in for before coming back to him, wouldn’t blame him if he felt like “a rebound”. Alot different to the Raphina situation.
  5. Broja signed a 5 year contract with us last year.there should be no fight to keep him. i understand some youngsters wanting to leave for more gametime if we stacked in their position.but really all we have ahead of him is Havertz.plenty of game time for him,he’s a good fit for what Tuchel wants at CF.he leaves for West Ham then in a few years he’ll want to play for a big club again and West Ham will do what they doing with Rice.
  6. Don’t think we’ll sign any more for our front 3.i think we’ll continue to be linked but when it comes to it unless a couple of our current crop are sold then we’ll address other areas instead. starting 3 Sterling-Havertz-Mount .plus Pulisic,Werner,Broja,CHO even if Ziyech leaves (i personally would only let him leave if sold outright) there may be the odd upgrade still available but i wouldnt say starting material ahead of our current front 3. for me priorities should be 1.DM 2.CB(i don’t believe like reported we will actually sign 2 more, just more than 1 target that only 1 will we pull the trigger on)3.RWB. then depends on who we sell.
  7. Probably the most consistant “flair player” we’ve had since GZ. He’s played for rival teams but never thought of him as a knobhead..not appreciated by factions of England fans so he’ll fit in with ours. surprised we got him really as would have thought he’d like to play in another league but maybe the pull of coming home to London was stronger for him.
  8. I see it as the opposite. Gvardiol is Silva’s replacement if we signed him but good enough to start at LCB until then. Ake and Colwill i only see as being LCB if they were to become regular starters.
  9. The only plus side for me if we signing Ake really is some of us can trawl through our attics for our Gullit wigs and might come across something more valuable.
  10. No real need to discuss in person since Marina’s not going to be at the table crossing and uncrossing her pins ala sharon stone in basic instinct..giving old businessmen a shock when they see the face of fuzzy bear down there that rattles them for the rest of the negotiations.
  11. €3m euro..quite a few Chelsea fans could have offered more for him to coach their kids and mow the lawn.
  12. For those that don’t grasp why some of us that like Colwill want Gvardiol(even though it’s unlikely we’ll get him)but don’t want us to sign Ake: Gvardiol is only a threat to Colwill starting this season.to play at LCB before moving inside to replace Silva.most of us “Colwill fans” accept he shouldn’t be a regular starter this season, just be a massive upgrade over Sarr will be a realistic goal. buying Ake however for say £40m kills Colwill’s career at Chelsea..Ake has played at several positions but he’s only good at LCB really.he’s not gonna move inside unlike Gvardiol should in a year.Colwill inside possibly maybe someday but Gvardiol has played on the inside of a back 3. i’d only be marginally interested in a one year loan deal for Ake until we have a better shot at Gvardiol (although many teams we’d have to fight with for him)
  13. Yeah.big fan here.he did fine with Barcelona(only may leave due to them being a shambles since PSG took away their present and potential jersey sellers) but i’d bet on him playing the best football of his career if he joined us and Tuchel’s system.would be a perfect fit.
  14. I knew it but doesnt seem that long since Dortmund won it..admittedly at my age a month seems to last a lunchtime..
  15. Dias went for 61m plus add ons aswell as City sent them Otamendi as part of the deal.different signing players from Portugal’s big 3 than big 4 in Italy tho.In Portugal they have a regular flow of South American young talent in part because they accept they are stepping stones to bigger things. In Italy they tend to believe they are the best even though been a while since they were top in Europe. Dias is better than de Ligt at present but if compare how rated he was when he joined City compared to de Ligt now then probably not. if looking at Portugal for reasonably priced CB’s Inacio has a 39m release close and Wolves are reportedly trying to get him for 30m.but if we sign CB’s that can play LCB then i’d personally be looking at those that can slide over to replace Silva if we persist longterm with the back 3 and i’m not sure if Inacio has that.
  16. I’d do that..when Barcelona don’t come up with a satisfactory offer and Raphina wants to join us again offer him a kebab a week. He wanted us when it was between us and Arsenal.we can pretend we need 2 wide forwards. in light of Lukaku and Courtois’ behaviour..i’m not too pissed at Raphina..atleast he didnt become a Chelsea player before doing it.
  17. Him and Luca Netz i like as under the radar young LB/LWB from Germany..in part because i won 8 national titles and 6 European cups with them as Schalke in Fifa..🙃
  18. I don’t think he’s having full control but certainly for this window only he will have as close as he will get to it.what’s the alternative to it tho. What we had in recent years was worse and anyone new coming in needs a few months to really set up who we need. I’d say head coach/manager should be able to veto moves but not be the only one making decisions,a partnership.
  19. Although he does have some position flexibility i’d say only LCB is he any good at but just having some level of skill at others can see someone getting a matchday squad place ahead of better players.
  20. Hope we get de Ligt and Sterling in.those are the two that tick all the boxes really. Then take a breath and make shrewd moves considering longtern consequences of everyone we may buy.once those two are in the clubhouse we can drop down a level from panic mode.
  21. Ake link depresses me.not because of his own skill or ego etc..but unlike Gvardiol,de Ligt,KK,Bastoni etc..he would almost certainly block Colwill’ path to the first team.others could for a season but then can move inside to take over from Silva.Ake is LCB that can be deputy at LB/LWB so far more harmful to Colwill. You could argue that Ake be better for this upcoming season but after that you left with an expensive back up or lose a very longterm solution at LCB whose english as we did with Guehi and/Tomori .
  22. The likes of Barcelona and Inter shop at Harrods on a Poundland budget.
  23. £200m aint gonna get the supposed 6 new signings we need..i’d say closer to 300m which maybe with sales aslong as we arent dealing so much with italian clubs we may be able to bring in the extra 100m. Skriniar ticks alot of boxes but inter joined the list of clubs i wouldnt personally want to have any more dealings with after the Lukaku farce. De Light -yes please..been a fan since he first broke into the Ajax side. Ake-no thanks..i’d bet on Colwill having a better career during the time span they both play and then Colwill will probably play for another 7 years after Ake has retired. My dream would be a back 3 of Colwill,Gvardiol and De Ligt. CM i think we’ll be getting a cheaper option in someone like Rabiot this year.then go nuts deep next summer in that department. Sterling i would love.Raphina i would hope for the best but think 2 expensive wide forwards would be abit over kill if we intend on keeping. 3-4-3 as Mount only really suits wide in the front 3.so you looking at Raphina at around 60m to mostly be on the bench.Richarlison due to more flexibility makes more sense..though even then a risk as are his team mates holding him back or is he really not someone who can consistently make positive contributions. we should spend big on central defenders they are kinda the safest positions to accurately judge whilst at other clubs.and Sterling is a pretty safe buy so positive about those kind of transfers and hoping for the best with who else we may sign.
  24. Havertz with Broja as alternate for the center of the front 3 works for me,if we get Sterling in. More goals in our front 3.more energy.more desire, integrity etc.. I’m fine with us rolling with that if we get stronger elsewhere..there are some CF’s out there that might be worth a gamble but there’s a free roll of the dice with Broja.
  25. I read somewhere the other day Howe only has between 80-100m for this windows kitty. Obviously their owners have silly wealth but doesn’t mean they are gonna spend the most. 80-100m is pretty much mid table spending for the prem,if that report i read is true ofcourse.
