  1. I always thought he was a bit on a unsung hero by some fans, a great player indeed. AGREED!
  2. They're on SkySports too. Edit: Sorry I just re-read what you said
  3. I've said it once and I'll say it again, this rule is utter bull. All it does is encourage teams to take youth talent away from other countries rather than find English ones. Teams are going to Spain, Germany and other European teams to get their u18s and it's just wrong. Teams like Manchester United do it all the time, the case of Macheda being a perfect example. The rule needs to be changed to include a clause, 80% of homegrown have to be English.
  4. With a salary of $17.7million/year as well? I'm pretty sure he had control over that.. I also forgot to mention, Zlatan Ibrahimovic! Jesus, how he made it into Barcelona, I'll never know, mind you Inter certainly got a great deal out of it.
  5. Also, looking at your list, why is Raúl there? I can't believe anyone would find him overrated! He's been at Real for 16 years and has many records to his name. All time leading goal scorer for Spain, Real Madrid's all time leading goal scorer, made the most appearances for Madrid (741), a 3 time Champions League winner, the list just goes on. I can't fault Raúl, he's one of the legends that I'll always remember
  6. Being at Real Madrid you never know. Florentino Perez & Jorge Valdano seem to love them! Even with José as manager, it won't stop Real making big money transfers
  7. Well I didn't really say he should come to Chelsea. I don't think we need him. But I'm just saying, going to Real Madrid could ruin his future.
  8. For £90million, Cristiano Ronaldo any day. I could name many players who are over-hyped, but I don't have all day, so I'll just leave it with Ronaldo for now.
  9. "Patience is a virtue." If Chelsea are after him, and are making talks, then they're not going to announce it. It's not how Chelsea do their affairs.
  10. Roy Hodgson has told interested clubs to forget about making a bid for Fernando Torres after the Liverpool manager held positive talks with the striker. new boss Hodgson, who has already held discussions with captain Steven Gerrard over his future, has warned off potential suitors following a brief meeting with Anfield's star striker prior to flying to Switzerland for a pre-season training camp. "I have met with Fernando. I found him to be a very pleasant man and we had a nice conversation," Hodgson told reporters in Bad Ragaz. "As far as we are concerned he is a Liverpool player and we want him to remain a Liverpool player. He is not for sale and we don't welcome any offers for him. "We want to keep him. My conversation with him was only short because I had to leave to come to the training camp in Switzerland. "We spoke about football, the World Cup, his injury, and I told him how much I am looking forward to working with him. "(Managing director) Christian Purslow was also at the meeting and chatted to Fernando for a lot longer after I left but my chat with him was only about football matters." || Story ||
  11. Feel sorry for him if he completes the move to Madrid. He'll hardly get first team action, waste of potential really.
  12. Don't think Yossi or Kakuta will play Esk?
  13. At 28 years of age Alex is all set to be the old man at the heart of the Chelsea defence when the pre-season games kick off tomorrow at Selhurst Park. John Terry, Ashley Cole, Ricardo Carvalho, Paulo Ferreira and Branislav Ivanovic are all yet to return to training following World Cup action and Jose Bosingwa has yet to rejoin full training. He is in the final stages of recovery from knee surgery so the likes of Michael Mancienne, Sam Hutchinson, Jeffrey Bruma, Patrick van Aanholt and Ryan Bertrand come into the frame for defensive positions alongside the Brazilian for the match at Crystal Palace.
  14. I think this is a repost But it's always nice to read this
  15. Damn.. I still won't believe it till I see it. I see no reason why Abramovich would want to "shut up shop", we're not in massive debt and financially we're above the "worrying" line.
  16. I don't understand the argument here. If anyone cares to remember it wasn't Yossi telling the media it was him telling Ray Wilkins! He didn't plan on Wilkins telling us.
  17. Benfica midfielder Ramires has set his sights on a "dream" move to Barcelona, Real Madrid or Chelsea after representing Brazil at the World Cup. "My agent has told me that a number of clubs are interested in signing me, but this didn't surprise me," he said in Record. "We all know that the World Cup is the perfect stage to prove your worth. "One good game could be enough to attract the interest of a big club. I don't know the names of the clubs that are after me, but it would be a dream for me to play for a big club such as Barcelona, Real Madrid or Chelsea." || Story ||
  18. Don't get me wrong, I love Ash but if Real do come with the right offer I wouldn't mind if we sold him. £35million for him wouldn't be the worst sale we've ever done. We have players who could take his place, Zhirkov, Ivanovic, Bosingwa. I'd love it if he stayed, we was a crucial element last season. But, for the right price, I wouldn't mind seeing him go.
  19. YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH BABY!!!!!!!!!
  20. I like the fact Sturridge is on the advertising page
  21. Former Chelsea man Juliano Belletti has agreed a deal to return home to Brazil with Fluminense. The 34-year-old has agreed a two-year deal at Fluminense and is set to undergo a medical before completing the move later this week. Belletti could be joined at Fluminense by former Chelsea team-mate Deco, with the Brazilians keen on signing the midfielder. || Source ||
