  1. Did this really need its own thread? Anyway. £82.5million = Carroll, Downing, Henderson & Adam.
  2. Emenalo giving an interview to SkySports. Don't have a link yet. He speaks intelligently. Smiley character.. Seems a shame he was made such a villain on the back of last season. Asked about Modric he replied "Luka is a Tottenham player, I will not comment on this"
  3. My bad guys. Thought he was a specialist left-back.
  4. I'd still smile if I heard we signed Aguero.. Won't cry if we don't.
  5. I hope so. He's played enough games in Iceland by now.. Anyone know the rules about this whole work permit things with footballers?
  6. Good point actually.. Hadn't though that one through.
  7. What? Boateng is a left-back. Alex is a centre-back. Why is Bayern deciding between one or the other if they play different positions? Even if it's true, considering Manchester City's big price on Boateng's head, they may opt for Alex anyway, especially if our valuation is true of a mere £12million.
  8. Ramires still has a place in the squad along side the DM. Since Ramires is box-to-box. However the DM issue is one that needs addressing if Mikel were to get injured or for some reason, Boas didn't see him as a good player.
  9. I sometimes think they print what they want to happen. That, or, "insiders" leak such stories in an attempt to start something factual based on it.
  10. Yeah true. But I don't know.. He's a great player, but I don't think we need him as such. I'd like to hear more opinions though from others about if he should be played over Mikel or with him ect.
  11. I like him. But he's very ill disciplined. Picked up the most number of yellow cards last season I believe
  12. A loan deal? That wouldn't be so bad I guess.
  13. Media are really pushing Sneijder to Manchester United. This is what they always do.. I.e. Neymar to Chelsea.
  14. I wouldn't want us to go for Sneijder unless he expresses a will to leave. He will cost a lot and will need time to settle in the Premier League, he's 27 & time isn't really favouring him. Nasri on the other hand just turned 24. He still has the ability to improve his game, under the right coaching & he's shown a willingness to leave. He'll be considerably cheaper too as he's entering the final year of his contract & he's PL proven. Out of Nasri and Modric? Nasri for sure.
  15. There's a rumour heating up we're targeting Cheik Tiote as an Essien replacement. I seem to remember we did try to lure him in January. Thoughts?
  16. where did this idea that Terry makes such claims derive from?!
  17. My mistake.. Probably league goals everyone mentions then. Still, the rest of my post holds true
  18. Delighted to see Rajkovic, Mellis & Clifford there!
  19. Mikel's first goal will be cheered more than Torres' as for the actual topic: Yes I do. It remains to be seen what system we play in midfield. Mikel is a very good defensive midfielder, we all know his interception and composure are his best attributes. That being said, we need him to push forward a bit more with our current midfield. While we have Ramires, who never tires and works very hard, he lacks the technical play to play pinpoint pass through to the strikers. If we can find a player to take the ball of Mikel and do something with it, it would be ideal. As Ballack & Lampard used to. Perhaps Lampard will be that player again, with age restricting his energy, perhaps we'll see him sit deep more. I regard Mikel very highly. He's still very young, but has all the attributes to be a great successor to the Essien-bumped-Makelele role. With the right coaching, adding an attacking instinct to his play, he'll be as effective as the latter.
