Fair do's mate. Let's hope this Drogba performance wasn't a one-off though!
-
Alex will go there, even if it's for a mere £2million. That's what happens when they're placed on the transfer list, the price decreases a lot. Don't see Luiz going though, especially with the amount André is using him this season.

LMAO! Brilliant. She celebrated proper when we scored against Valencia. Proper fan she is

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7361859/ I'm convinced. If we keep him happy here, providing he continues to deliver, I believe we can keep hold of him. He knows this is a long-term project Villas-Boas is building, which includes Romeu as a crucial link.
-
Bojan was a special case though. He expressed a desire to leave, 100%. Romeu & other prospects are generally approached by other clubs so Barca have more push there.
-
Indeed. I really hope he keeps this 3, consistently.. Bar the occasional change, to rest some of them. It's the midfield he must now decide on, though rotation is doing Lampard well. It seems he's fully decided Luiz - Terry is working well.

Congrats TX. I'm glad I was able to give you your one & only loss this season

Romeu vs Valencia: Win Balls, Start Attack
LDN Blue replied to CareFreeChronic's topic in Chelsea Articles
Good analysis as usual. If he continues this way, he may choose to stay with us if Barca knocked on the door in the next 2 season. -
Lol, he's very selfish. You are right though, with more experience he will make the right calls with cutting inside and passing to a player in a better scoring range.
-
No matter how many times we explain this, we'll always be seen as haters Mikel is useful for games where the tempo needs be slowed down & where we need to play more defensive. Like last night when 3-0 up and not needing any hiccups. More often, than not, Romeu is much more effective because of his fast pace, no nonsense tackling & good read of the game. The type who will break down the opposition attack & kick start our own. Mikel was useful for the style of Ancelotti & co. For Villas-Boas, not so much.
-
If he improves his technique he could. I've noticed an improvement in his passing, whereas before that wasn't his best asset.
-
Haha, he truly is a fantastic defender. I feel very sorry for him, because when he plays he's very good. This season he's played a lot more games, it's encouraging for him.
-
I would like to apologize for my recent recent !

Fair enough. Like I said, don't blame Ferreira for this personally, more our board than anything. -
Why did we wait for Drogba though? Because he came from a different country, a different league. We knew nothing of his assets or anything. We watch Torres for the better part of 4years. Destroying our own defence, and others. We saw him become one of the most feared strikers in the world at Liverpool. We have a right to demand some return from the investment within 12months. "1 step forward, 2 backwards". That is not a good return for the reputation that he's earned for himself.

Fyi.. We drew that game

No it doesn't. Donations aren't obligations, they're voluntary. Like Kalou handing in a transfer request. -

Does it matter? -
True, and therein lies the problem. It's a shame Tevez is such a disruption to have.. He would've been a brilliant Drogba type-player. Because his first touch is exquisite & he does create something out of nothing.
-
André did back him. Torres started for a whole month or so this season, while Drogba bided his time on the bench. Torres continued to follow a trend of "1 step forward, 2 steps backwards". We've heard all the excuses, 'poor service', 'lack of faith', etc. Well those are all void now. Look at Drogba's final goal last night, how he held the line and waited for Mata to thread that ball in for him. When has Torres demonstrated this desire on the pitch? I've had enough of him. I backed him all year & understood his frustrations. But there's no interest or passion from him at Chelsea. I personally feel, if he went back to Spain (to Leti) he'd find his happiness again & passion for the game.. Thus, doing well. But it won't happen here, at Chelsea.

WHS Exclusive - Another Player Leaving

We didn't forgive Torres though, most have given up on him. The one thing we do have a right to criticise is lack of development. Which defines Kalou. Sturridge has come in, in his first season as a main squad player and scored more goals than Drogba, Anelka, Torres & Kalou put together. I will cheer Kalou scoring a goal for Chelsea, but I won't make out like all is forgiven, because again he shows 0% development. The last 5 years, 21-26 is when a player should be peaking in a development aspect. Like Sturridge is, like Torres did. Torres is declining, and we're all blasting him for it. -
I'm sorry but I disagree with everyone saying he should get a contract extension. He put in a great shift last night. But it's time to go. He already said he'll honour his contract, maybe that's why he's bothering now.. His final hurrah. Only replacement I see as adequate, Edison Cavani. Yet I don't see him leaving Napoli any time soon. Gonna be real hard to find someone like Drogba. I don't think we should either. Villas-Boas' clearly wants to play a possession game, with the ball doing the work. We can't do that if we're playing with a target man too. It's why, an in-form, Torres would've been a delight for André. It's a shame Torres is long-gone figure now though. But it's that type of striker Chelsea should be looking for now.
-
Luiz didn't get booked
-
I don't see us winning this I'm afraid. We should play defensive against their attack, with a counter-attack to match. Real shame about Luiz.
-
Press conference was a thing of beauty. I love how Gulit criticised it (as usual). Bravo André, bravo.
-
If we had a pacey left-winger, we'd have a very good strike force. The way Mata feeds Sturridge, through the latter's pace, has been demonstrated superbly in the last 2 games. Mata must play as a no.10 after January, provided we do buy a proper left-winger.
