  1. Agreed. By the time he was low enough, the ball had past him. However on the whole, he's been very good in doing so over the last few years. Perhaps this back injury we heard about, from Courtois, has some truth to it..
  2. http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2527912,00.html
  3. And. Welbeck's the only from Manchester out of all those
  4. A Liverpool supporter hey? Well credit to you even more for this insight. Well done lad. Excellent analysis of how a transition should take place, will take a closer look later on.
  5. Apparently Cole's fit now http://www.chelseafc...2527836,00.html I'd still rather André play Bertrand! It's Wolves ffs.
  6. I do, kind of, agree with what Henrique's saying. Sometimes football comes down to luck. But then we have situations like Barcelona, where it's so blatant the bad decisions have affected the game. For me, and for now, it should be down for goal-line decisions only. Not penalties, offsides, etc.
  7. ESPN reported a 'meeting to stop cliques'. With Di Matteo, there's rumours he want a no.1 position at another club. I don't think he'll leave though, not yet anyway. I don't believe, for a second, Roman will suggest he is unhappy over the Torres situation. At best, I hope (if this is even true) this meeting will result in everyone agreeing José's team, must leave.
  8. Hmm, yeah disagree lol. I love Cech's ability to read when to stay big and then drop low to make such saves. He did it so well last season. Though one thing Cech's struggling now with, is distribution. I don't know if it's a tactical thing or not, but he's looking for the short ball now instead of the long ball, which I think he did well. Especially when Drogba's playing. Goal flashback of Drogba/Anelka vs. Blackburn last year, I think?
  9. Indeed, as I said, he makes up for it very well with his reactions to get down low and save those shots. However there is a difference in his approach to the top corner shots now than there was before his injury.. Though I don't dare dispute he's still world class. I'd say 3rd best keeper in the league behind Hart & Reina.
  10. Well from what I'm being told, they're still not 100% confident on his fitness ect. But most NUFC fans do believe it's only a matter of time before he becomes part of the first XI. Definitely right about Simpson though. My mate said he hopes Pardew sells him in Jan so they can look for better. They have been very good with bargains this last 12months!
  11. Only reason I can think is because of Cassano's situation. Guy had heart surgery and will not play again this season. But Gillani said he'd promise to keep a place for Cassano next season, so I imagine AC Milan will only want a loan deal.
  12. Brilliant contributions from everyone
  13. He's average at best. My NUFC supporting mate doesn't really see the big hype. He's good, so he's doing a good job for Newcastle. But they know it's only a matter of time till Santon displaces him.
  14. True. But like he said, their balance books are fine. They have no need to sell. The players would not want to leave before they've crossed the line of glory, when they're so close in their development.
  15. He's trying to work with what he has. What he has isn't a quality squad. He got a few signings in what was left of the summer window, a possible failure of him and the club to fail to work quickly, Modric quickly comes to mind. He hasn't been given the resources he needs yet. Let him have a chance to build a squad and then watch his philosophies and styles be implemented correctly. Then we will see results. Porto bought into it, and it bought them ultimate success. Give the guy a chance. It's not started well. Granted. So give him a chance to correct this. The failure comes about as a failure of the squad to adapt, so he is trying new things, but they're not being done properly.
  16. It's all I can donate for now, sort of in&out of employment. Glad to help though.
  17. He's adapted his game to make sure he covers it well though. Doing the basics a lot better, like making himself big. On the opposite side, he gets low very. very well. In that regard, his reflexes are still top notch. But he doesn't fly around any more as such. You won't see the spectacular from him, especially top-corner dives. Might relate to that persistent back-injury too, though I think it's psychological.
  18. Yeah even text alignment's been messed up! When you try to make text aligned to the middle, it still comes out to the left :S
  19. I knew he wouldn't tbh. When's the last time he went left the ground to make such a stretch? I'm afraid that's the biggest asset he lost after that injury.
  20. It frustrates me we have no-one to step up to his plate though! Josh, yeaah but he's not on that scale yet that we can give him Lampard's weight. Ideally, a fix in January for this problem would be nice. But I don't think it'll happen till summer 2012 now.
