I know I few who thinks Matic is our best player this season. Not sure it its wise to judge a player based in someone else opinion. For me Oscar has always been a correct player. I'm not a big fan, but imo the difference is the results. If he scores a goal, then he played a superb match. If next game he plays the same football, no goals and the team gets a bad result, people will say he is inconsistent. For this is who Oscar is. He is not a player to win a match on his own.

What season are you watching? Xurli barely starts games this season.

Interesting that you only posted things from british press. Of course its typical: best player in a certain position in PL must be the best in the world.I never said he is not a quality player, but when people are saying he is our best player this season ahead the likes of Fabregas, Costa and even Hazard, you understand how overrated he is, and if you cant realize thats my point, then I think you are the ignorante one. (Not sure how many people around there think he is our best player).

Perhaps we wee not favourites in the beginning of the season, but when you are 8 points ahead of your biggest rival, you are indeed supposed to win. Now we are no more, I think City will make it, again.

To be honest, I could not read TC everyday for months because it has been a very busy year. But I was shocked when I realized right now that some members are saying he is our best player this season, or even the best DM in the world. Outside here its hard to see anyone praising him THAT much.

To honest Cahill is our best option in my eyes. Terry, Ivanovic, Azi and Cahill is the best 4 this squad can offer. The best answer for this problem was the last transfer window, but right now I trust more in Cahill than in Zouma. The same thing happen in midfield. After every average performance from Oscar and William, I never ask for Schurlle or Salah, because I know both won't make the team any better.

I think we are paying the price for believing in 2 myths: *our team was superb, and only one good striker was needed. *our defense is the best in the world. Since last season I've been saying this: our weak point is the defense. Mourinho is fooling himself when he says Terry is as good as 2005. Azi is easily our best at the four back. Its unbelievable how Ivanovic became the untouchable right back. He was never that good going forward, but this season even his defending is average. About Cahill, I always said people saw him as an amazing CB because of David Luiz factor. He is average and always will be. I think its also funny to remember people saying Matic was a god in the midfield, or that was the reason why we were set to win the trophy last season. For me he is a correct player, definitely better than Mikel, but being better than Mikel doesn't make you a super DM. I think he is very limited, going forward and defending. To be honest I don't see us winning the trophy. City is a better team in every aspect. Their squad depth is unbelievable. I think we lost an amazing opportunity when we lost 4 points against Manchester teams. At this moment we could be 5 points ahead of City. Now we definitely lost our momentum.

This is the reason why I believe our defense is far from world class. A world class defender would never give away 2 goals that easily in that kind of game. Games like that can make you lose the trophy.
