  1. People just want Chelsea to be involved in the transfer window deadline fiasco. We don't really need anyone else anymore.
  2. Pablo is a great replacement for Scott Sinclair. Better player IMO. Well done Swans.
  3. We have Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku's on loan. When Romelu comes back next season we'd have 4 strikers for one position, all which are pretty young. No point in that IMO. Tottenham on the other hand only have Adebayor and Defoe. Defoe is at the end of his career so Remy would definitely be needed more over there. I can't see it happening personally. The club won't go for him because we don't really need him.
  4. Don't need him as much as Tottenham do.
  5. This is because he was playing in the same position, but not the same role. AVB started the season off giving Sturridge freedom to act as an inside forward, with not a lot of defensive responsibility; it's why he scored a hatful of goals - he's a natural goalscorer. As soon as we started leaking goals AVB wanted Sturridge to help out quite a lot defensively - something not in his nature. He is a striker after all. We saw the theme continue with RDM - it's why he didn't get picked a lot under him. RDM had to play with a defensive style as it was the best our players could manage. Playing Sturridge at the RW position would've only harmed the team more, we would've leaked so much more if he played Sturridge over Ramires for the majority of RDM's reign in the 2011/12 season. It just wouldn't have worked.
  6. Lol, when has Sturridge been given a prolonged run in the CF role? If Sturridge had the amount of games Torres or Drogba had at CF last season then you could say he's been given a chance, but he hasn't.
  7. Hmm. I dunno about Remy. He's decent but can't see him coming.
  8. The article was obviously sarcastic. Not meant to be taken serious.
  9. No. No one said Hazard isn't a good finisher, he's decent at it. But he can work on it. Just because you take pens doesn't mean your finishing is absolutely fantastic. If his shooting improved to let's say Ronaldo or Messi level, he'd be even better, almost God-like. That's what I'm trying to get at anyway.
  10. Great Modric replacement if they can wrap it up.
  11. Dembele wouldn't be brought in the team to play the Xavi role though. In my opinion he'd be the perfect guy in midfield next to Mikel because he compliments him. He works so hard up and down the pitch, and because he's competent defensively and carries the ball very well, plus has a decent pass he could potentially be a great link man. He wouldn't be bought to rack up goals or assists, his role in the team would be to ensure better transitions from midfield to attack. Potentially Dembele has the right attributes to do that. Perhaps he could stay at Fulham this season and we'll see if he can consistently produce the form he's been showing. If that's the case I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at a top club. Personally, I could see United going for him. He could be a revelation there, as long as they'd find a good partner for him at CM.
  12. Atletico could hurt us. Excellent counter attacking side, they like to sit deep and hit on the counter. It'll be interesting to see how RdM approaches this game. Personally, as I think we'd have time on the ball due to how Atletico play, I'd go with a team that's good at keeping possession, but we'd have to stay compact and watch for the quick break away. I don't want to see our fullbacks bombing up as that'll leave too much space where Atletico can really hurt us. Due to Cahill and Luiz being quite pacey we have the luxury of playing a little higher up than how we do with JT. Regardless, my starting XI: Cech Ivanovic Luiz Cahill Cole Mikel Lampard Mata Hazard Bertrand Torres Play like we did against Newcastle and we'll win this. An effective performance needed once again.
  13. SWP was bought as a starter. Moses wasn't. There'll be less pressure on him and to be honest, his potential ceiling is higher than SWP's ever was. SWP wasn't as bad as he was painted out to be though. He was a useful player but just never really lived up to his hype, and his price tag especially. As Moses came for a lower fee and is not expected to start regularly I think he'll do better.
  14. Basically what I was trying to say is that the general consensus was that Neymar is better than both. Of course you'll have a few saying a couple of opposite things, but your post is trying to allude that it was the majority view that Lukaku and Kakuta were better, when it clearly wasn't.
  15. We have the best central defence (quality and depth wise) in the Premiership. No other team in the PL has the ability to call upon 4 quality centre backs like we do. City have: Kompany, Toure, Lescott, Savic, Richards. Utd: Vidic, Ferdinand, Smalling, Phil Jones, Evans. Arsenal: Vermaelen, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Djourou. Liverpool: Coates, Skrtel, Agger, Carragher. Out of these players the only one who'd definitely get into our first team XI is Kompany. I can comfortably say too that Terry, Cahill or Luiz would also start for any of the teams mentioned above. Seriously, I'd rather the 4 of Terry, Luiz, Cahill and Ivanovic rather than any of those. People need to stop saying Terry is on the decline too. They say it every season, but I believe JT can still play at least 2 seasons more before any real noticeable decline.
  16. Lol, no one ever said Kakuta or Lukaku are better then Neymar. Everyone knew Neymar was special 2 years ago, whether you lived in Brazil or not.
  17. He isn't married though, the two kids came from a fling. Marriage shows maturity IMO. Marriage and having kids isn't the same thing. Oscar is very mature for his age.
  18. Didn't say he had a great game, far from it. Just saying that saying he had a poor game is too harsh. He was just average. Not poor.
  19. Why suggest Witsel then? Edit: Sorry, thought it was you suggesting Witsel but it was BlueLyon. Anyway, we don't necessarily need a creative DM, just someone who links up the attack and midfield. Dembele has the potential to be exactly that person IMO.
  20. How was he poor and how the hell were Reading his first real test?
  21. Yes. Let's sign Casillas for £50m because he's a good player as well. Don't worry about us not needing him.
  22. CRonaldo has a valid point. If there's one part Eden can improve his game on a bit, it's his finishing. He'd be unplayable.
  23. It's pretty clear to me that our play isn't going to be high-cross orientated. Torres isn't really known for his aerial prowess. We'll see tons of through balls, intricate combinations and perhaps low, driven crosses from inside the box by the byline. We'll see anyway. There has to be a variation in our play and I'm not discrediting that the cross have been quite poor, but what has to be understood is that they aren't really the main part of our play now, hence why the quality has reduced. We'll see decent cross from our proper wide men (Moses and Marin) but apart from that it's understandable to me why the crosses haven't been top notch. Azpilicueta might have a good cross on him as well but we'll see.
