  1. Seriously? I would be livid if the club even thought about swapping a player who's nearly at the end of his career for Sturridge who offers a lot more than Defoe.
  2. Sturridge played bad under RDM especially because he wasn't playing the same role. When AVB was here he asked Sturridge to play like an inside forward, told him to stay up for an stacking outlet etc. RDM preferred a more defensive approach and therefore used the defensive winger approach, something Danny can't really do. He's a striker.
  3. Bang on, how many times did Kalou even play CF during his Chelsea career?
  4. Essien/Meireles aren't really dead wood. They're still very useful squad players. Malouda and Benayoun however I don't see a future for. They're off soon IMO.
  5. It's pretty clear to me that Sturridge is the back up striker.
  6. Not really, there could be some administrative issues that need to be sorted out. FWIW it looks we've had a bid accepted IMO, the last details are probably just being trashed out now.
  7. I know, he's a good player, doesn't mean he's the answer to the pivot though. Placing him there would nullify him a lot IMO.
  8. Right so after one good game Fellaini seems to be the answer to all of our problems.
  9. Not at all. Since RDM has taken over Torres has been good.
  10. So you support Newcastle and Chelsea? What will you do when we play them?
  11. People compare us with Madrid as if we're some sort of conference team. Seriously?
  12. I hope you aren't serious saying that they have the best midfield in the EPL.
  13. That wasn't an excuse. Not going to respond further because this post is just retarded.
  14. Let Wigan have the ball, they're not doing anything constructive with it. We conserve energy and see the game out. I'm glad RDM is thinking that way, there's nothing you prove if you beat Wigan 4/5-0. The last thing we need to do is open up spaces for Wigan.
  15. @WhoScored: Chelsea: Conceded more goals (20) in the final 15 minutes of PL matches than any other team in the top flight last season
  16. I'm not even watching the game due to other commitments, but if I didn't know the score line I'd think we're drawing or something. You can't seriously expect us to thrash every team 8-0.
  17. I understand your point SeB, it's a valid one you make. However you must remember that Wigan do not have the same quality as Man City. Before the red card we were fine against City. I think you're giving Wigan too much respect, and we won't win that way. We need to set the pace of the game early on, not start on the back foot.
  18. Don't think we're after Cavani tbh.
  19. Not exclusively. What we don't have in the double pivot is an outlet, someone who connects play. It's mutually exclusive. Lampard should be the one linking play up due to him having the necessary skill set but due to his natural B2B tendencies he leaves Mikel exposed. Modric has the ability to make the right decision on when to join attack and when to sit deep to connect the team. A Mikel - Modric partnership in the pivot would be glorious.
  20. He scores a lot because United as a team create so many chances for their forwards. We don't have that luxury, he wouldn't score nowhere near as much here IMO.
