I think Mourinho should take note of City and Liverpool against the smaller sides and go with two strikers. Both City and Liverpool benefited massively because of the presence of two strikers. Willian - Fabregas - Matic - Hazard Costa - Lukaku There's no need for three-man midfield against sides that just sit back and give you all the opportunity to play until you reach the final third. Centre-backs aren't used to 1v1 situations because they usually face a lone striker so most really struggle when they are in such a situation. And luckily, both Costa and Lukaku aren't lost if they find themself in wide/wider positions. I would absolutely love to see that but I doubt that will be the case.

That's what I was thinking. But I just found out he's been divorced for a while. Must be nice to get a fortune for doing nothing. But 15 years though Fabregas. Meeting the parents must've been fun.
-
15 years? Not so sure about this transfer anymore. He'd probably seduce Roman's woman. Edit: Never mind, didn't know he was divorced.
-
No, not Torres.. That's it, he'll never leave.

Thought I'd quote this again for those who missed it. Thanks Choulo. Something did seem wrong about those 'quotes'. The English media have been trying to make it seem Courtois and Lukaku, the most high-profile loanees, are very keen to leave for such a long time. I'm surprised so many people jumped the gun so quickly.

Mehh.. Deco, Sneijder and Ozil were all crucial to his other teams.
-
Decent but nothing special, even in his Arsenal days. Like you, one of my complaints was a lack of of goals from set-pieces. Mata's departure also meant a cut of roughly 15 goals in a season (not all ending up in direct assists for Mata of course). Fabregas would make the team a lot more dangerous from open play though.

Costa wasn't the team's goal-scorer in 12/13. And I have to say, 10 goals and 7 assists in 24 starts is more than decent considering the circumstances (first year at Atletico, playing in different positions). And since we're going by statistics, 10 goals and 4 assists in 15 starts for Rayo Vallecano in 11/12. Not too shabby. I have a good feeling about this guy. He's had an interesting journey to the top. Seems like he's constantly had to prove himself. And more importantly, he's more than a goal-scorer. Think he'll do fine.

08/09, Lamps truly carried the team that season. He was amazing even when the team was seriously struggling.

Aren't they the worst? They actually think they're a special bunch of people with superior knowledge. Most of the time it's just funny but it's times like this I realise I really can't stand them.
-
One final time then.. Frank Lampard > Steven Gerrard
-
Why does he have to be the so-called 'Lampard replacement'? If the club wants to buy Fabregas, it's because they think he will strengthen the team. Whether you agree with that or not is a different thing. This has nothing to do with Lamps.

Possibly Costa, Fabregas and Luis in one summer. That would be the best transfer window ever.
-
Definitely. He's a 'child of Arsenal', a true fan and only cares for Arsenal and all that crap. They actually believe that. This is business.
-
Want this to happen just so Arsenal fans all over the world lose their minds. Never experienced such a smug fanbase.
-
Atletico were broken mentally, that save lacked so much convinction. Definitely a mistake by Courtois but the match was already lost. Technically they were still in it yes but it was just never gonna happen. I don't think I've ever seen a player allowed to just stroll towards goal in a match, let alone the CL Final..

Love the guy. His attitude is inspirational. Wish him good luck and happiness. I'll miss him.

Seeing Sturridge performing at such a high level in that awful red shirt is horrible enough.. Confidence is an amazing thing. Romelu deserves some trust and a real chance.

In his three years at Real Madrid, the rotating of the two strikers was only succesful in one season. Things like that don't last. In the other seasons there were always issues and problems with form, which is only logical. A striker needs to play constantly, to get into a rhythm and become confident. He needs to be able to play without worrying about losing his spot in the starting line-up if he goes a few matches without scoring. Add a third striker and it's just a complete mess. Demba never complained but that's rare.
-
Deserved extension but am I the only one completely confused by the fact he's going to earn more money? Just seems so strange.
-
Oh please just don't flop. He's had a great season but it was his first season playing at a such a high level so you never know. One thing's for sure though.. He will piss off opposition fans.
-
Haha yeah the Portugese powerhouses always have known how to squeeze every penny out of Chelsea. But the hype surrounding him is quite subdued and he's not going to the World Cup either, he shouldn't be too overpriced.
-
Sometimes football is very, very simple. Oscar had a good period and is now going through a poor run of form. It's called inconsistency. It's not because of a lack of commitment and it's not because he's only focused on the World Cup. Is the World Cup on his mind. No doubt. That goes for him and every other player in the world with a chance of going. But it's simply a loss of form. A stage in the development of pretty much every young player, only extremely rare cases don't go through it. So no big, dark secret, simply the way things work. That's just the way I see it though.

Good for Utd. And I'm sure the huge fee will not be a issue since it's Utd. I personally prefer Ricardo Rodriguez or Alex Sandro over Shaw.
