  1. Mehh... But maybe Chels can't do better.
  2. Surely, Chelsea and Atletico could make a deal which would involve Griezmann joining Chelsea and Diego going the other way. That way Atleti don't lose their main source of goals without a proper replacement. A former fan favourite who dreams of returning as well. Simply ideal. 60-80 mil for Griezmann, 30-50 for Costa. Question is if Griezmann would want to join. I don't mind Costa staying though. But there's no way Chels can go another season playing Costa every game. Either Michy plays a larger part next season, a new striker joins or a wide forward capable of playing in the middle is purchased.
  3. I love the idea of Perisic as a wingback. Think he could be revelation in that position like Moses, but better. Are those figures a joke though? I can't believe €35 mil is a mere opening offer. 35 mil is big money for a 28-year-old wide man who's never made a big impact at top level. PL clubs are in trouble. It looks like the new TV money has almost doubled the prices for English clubs.
  4. Hazard is lowkey one of the best 'beautiful goals scorers' around. Just needs to learn to score more ugly goals regulalrly to score 20+ goals on the regular. Anyone notice he's better at putting his foot through the ball with his left than with his right? His leftie power shots are a problem.
  5. City signing Walker and Fabinho would burn like hell, not gonna lie. Please, please, please, hijack those transfers, Chels. Winning the league should hold weight, damnit.
  6. Imagine Utd and City turning into Barcelona and Real. Can't happen.
  7. Great talent. Potential superstar. One of the possible attacking options to strengthen Chels for me so slightly annoyed he's not joining but that's football. I'm surprised they're making these kinds of signings under Pep though. He doesn't stick around for long and I highly doubt he'll be in charge when their young guns reach their prime. And that's the thing. These players aren't in their prime. Signings like this doesn't make them a super team or a team to be prematurely feared. That would take years to build. And even then, there are no guarantees.
  8. I'd love Barcelona in the group. Would give us the opportunity to see how good this Chelsea side truly is. I've never liked easy runs. If you reach the quarters or semis by dodging the top teams you haven't proven anything. The games vs big teams are the most enjoyable as well.
  9. Best offence in the league Best defence in the league Top scorer in Harry Kane Highest total points ever And you finish 2nd. Chelsea Football Club, home of the proud party poopers.
  10. Robben wasn't anywhere near the player he is now back then. Great talent but inconsistent, which is normal for a young player making the move from PSV to Chelsea. Pedro was a far more consistent and decisive performer in 16/17. Diego trumps Didier in 04/05. We didn't see performances like Diego's in the first half of the season from Drogs until his third season at Chelsea.
  11. As for the ranking, every title win conjured up a similar level of glee. 09/10 was the most fun though. That final run felt like cheating.
  12. 12th man of the season. Very grateful for his contributions this season.
  13. You can tell the centrebacks are rusty and you can tell they've never played together. And Chelsea's possession play simply hasn't been good enough. In fact, the usual level of possession play isn't good enough to become a top side in Europe.
  14. Conte's constant use of the 'big thirteen' (starting XI + Cesc and Willi) made me think the fringe players were crap. Guess they're a bit better than that. He really did it play it safe by refusing to rotate.
  15. Agree. It's where I imagine him next season myself.
  16. Agree with the bolded part. Average is very harsh.
  17. The player he was in 15/16 is never returning. It's like Rooney and Drogba in 09/10 and Messi and Pirlo in 11/12 to name a few examples. They hit peak form for a year or so and everything they touch turns into gold. Messi scored 91 goals and provided 27 assists in 2012 I think. Never repeated it again and never will. Mahrez is a better player than he's been this season as he's been poor, but he's not better than Pedro and Willian.
  18. Every football fan should watch Robben's match-winning goal vs Leipzig today. And while you're watching, keep in mind he's doing it in the 96th min of the match. I've been a Robben fan since EURO 2004. He simply refuses to get old. He won't even allow never-ending injuries to stop him. The man is relentless. Turned into a proper football legend after his move to Bayern.
  19. Utd and City out of the top 4 would've been truly glorious. Arsenal and Utd is the second best thing. So, yeah, I concur, sir. I concur.
  20. http://www.goal.com/en/news/1862/premier-league/2017/05/13/35471172/batshuayi-mental-conte-makes-the-right-call-again-to-clinch?ICID=HP_FT_3 Ain't that something. It's hard for me to criticise Michy as he's barely played. He's obviously failed to impress the manager in training but still.. To play so little and having endured so many embarassing subs. At least he has one highlight in 16/17.
  21. Lemme put my manager suit on Courtois/Bego* Cahill - Terry - Aké Moses - Fabregas - Chalobah - Alonso Willian - Batshuayi - Hazard GK; Zouma, Azpilicueta; Matic, Loftus-Cheek; Musonda, Costa Play Bego if he's staying next season. If not, let Courtois try to get his hands on the Golden Gloves.
  22. To lead a team from 10th to champions is a stupendous achievement. Simply stupendous. His hand is clearly visible in this team. Let's hope for even better next season. But now, the FA Cup final. I want to see Gunner tears.
  23. BATMAN TING! It wasn't in doubt for me. No way were they gonna give it away. The boys have been amazing this season. Never imagined this before the season. The gods of football have been very kind after a disastrous and painful year. I just love JT. You will be greatly missed.
  24. There's a slight chance here. Could be persuaded into a PL adventure after dominating Italian football in the form of six (!) consecutive Serie A titles. If he wins the CL title, he'll have won everything there is to win with Juve. If he doesn't win, chances are against him winning it with this old Juve team. Losing two finals is very painful as well. Juve already have Chiellini, Barzagli, Rugani, new boy Caldara and Benatia in their ranks. Both Rugani and Caldara are considered as huge talents in Italy. If serious money is offered for Bonucci, I imagine they'd be tempted to take it. If Conte were to pay Bonucci a visit after the season is done and sell him the Chelsea project (I can only hope aiming to win the CL within the next three years is Chelsea's objective), I'm sure he'd appreciate that. Have him come over to Cobham as well and try to charm the **** out of him. Big three year contract... If he doesn't like the weather, try to convince by telling him he can always go back to Italy after a few years at Chels. Rumours of Pirlo joining the staff, that would help. Sure the likes of Vialli and Ancelotti could put in a good word as well. Odds are slim but it's not entirely impossible. Depends on how aggressively Chels would pursue him. These are the type of signings that will make other top players want to join your club. And make sure Belotti is on that same private jet to London as well.
