Why are oscar and pedro on the pitch? Has pedro even touched the ball thats resulted into something good for us?
-
Perfect team except for oscar. I had hoped that conte would have told the board that play an U-18 but not oscar as he has no place in the squad.
-
Also, Its the perfect building block for the youngsters like RLC, kenedy, traore, Ake, Baba, hopefully musonda and baker too.
-
I definitely agree with the sentiment but with a few minor tweaks. 1. We have to play 4-3-3 with cesc in the team. 2. Ake should be our 1st choice LB for the next season. 3. JT is past it. Hard to believe but we have to accept it). JT should at best be our 3rd choice CB if not 4th. 4. GC should not be in the squad if he is english or not. He is someone who gives it his all, but he is not good enough. 5. Mikel should be sold this summer. 6. I am all for youth to be given a massive role in the squad but we also need to keep a check on being competitive, which means some overhaul of the first team. I would want a squad like Butland (Begovic) Azpi(Iva) Hummels(Miazga/Andreas) Zouma(JT) Ake (Baba) Cesc(RLC) Radja(Baker) Vidal(Musonda) Willian (Boga) Costa (Traore) Hazard(Kenedy) This makes our first team strong enough to finish in the top4 and also give youth a massive oppurtunity to blood in.

I have never seen Amelia play so I honestly cant comment. But it seems a little too weird to give the 3rd GK spot to amelia as I dont think he would be that good and he is not Homegrown. Basically its a massive waste of a non-HG spot. I would not want andreas here. He is performing brilliantly, and getting lots of game time. His development has been immense and in a scenario where he is on the bench for a whole season, would be a massive waste. I honestly dont know what conte would do. Will he stick to JT/GC as our 2nd/3rd CBs or actually give Zouma and andreas their oppurtunities. So just to not have another young player bite the dust while sitting at the bench, I would keep andreas where he is. If he is guaranteed atleast a 3rd CB role behind hummels (or Mr. X) and zouma (Zouma and andreas can fight for the 2nd CB spot) then I will be happy. Fair enough. We need some massive upgrades in the middle of the park. Though getting radja, vidal and kante seems more fantasy than anything I can imagine. I think its too early to judge Baba. He has had some brilliant performances like Kiev and PSG (and mind you thats the highest of the highest stage). But not just his good performances, but even in a season like this, his games have been far and few between and the one mistake he made (against Soton - LONG), cost him his place in the side for about a month or so. Imagine a 21 year old LB making a mistake. Unimaginable, right GUS? I mean seriously dropping a young defender like a sack of potatoes for one mistake. Anyways, gus' decisions is a discussion for a different day and time. My assessment of Baba, would be Potential. Not ready yet, and honestly not given much of a chance.Even in a season like this, where we are 10th after 30 games, he has had just 544 minutes of game time, which is what 6 games. 6 games despite us having nothing to play for since DEC/JAN. I mean the people at the highest levels should be ashamed of themselves for this mis-man-management. Right now, Ake should be way ahead in the LB starter role. But I feel Baba has a higher ceiling. Currently, Yes, Kenedy is way off the level of a chelsea starter. But I think Most of the things he lacks, touches where he literally plays the ball 10 metres ahead of him and chases it, or positioning is something which can be improved. He looks like a guy who works his ass of in the training. A good attacking manager and we have a brilliant player on our hands. Also, I feel, Kenedy's USP is his killer shot. Shifting him to LB, takes away those oppurtunities. As for Pedro, I would not blink an eye if he leaves and is replaced by moses/Juan/Musonda. Honestly, I feel they would be able to cover his role in the squad. But if he does stay, I would be livid if someone like musonda leaves us for arsenal (as was rumored) because of "lack off oppurtunities".
-
I would put the likes of cesc and hazard in that list too, as well as oscars and pedros.
-
AMEN brother!!!

A 20 goal a season striker at 22 years of age. If he had not been a part of our roster in the past, everyone would have been banging on and on and on about this guy. Look at whats happened with dybala. And in all honesty, even his overall game has improved 10 folds. No, I dont think he is better than Costa. But if Costa wants to leave, I would love Lukaku here even if its for 50million pounds. Cavani would cost 30odd millions, he is already 29 and is only going to get worse. On the other hand, Lukaku knows the league inside out, would be playing for his dream club (hopefully we are still that for him) and he is ONLY going to improve and give us 10 good years at least. Please, lets just GET HIM back!!!
-
Vidal is a World Class midfielder. He would improve our midfield multi-folds. A must buy if possible.
-
What gus spoke and what gus should have done are 2 different things. Playing youth against Villa when everything is lost is different. If gus had any balls, he would have started RLC over oscar when we needed a better player than Oscar and we had something to play for.
-
Best of LUCK conte. You are going to need it!!
-
Nah mate. We need a definite upgrade over Mikel in the midfield. As for pedro, his role can be taken by kenedy/musonda.
-
2-0/3-0 against villa, and i am sure even messi would lessen his intensity. RLC is already a better player than someone who can ONLY be played against MK dons, walsall or villa. He is a talent who needs time on the pitch. Yes, he does need to work on impacting the game more, but that is something which comes with age and experience and most importantly gametime. And I am not talking a game every 2 months. I dont think his physical fitness is poor. I saw him running around and tackling and winning the ball back on multiple occasions in the 2nd half. The kid is not perfect, but he is definitely better than some of the overpaid mercenaries in our squad. I personally think that some of the criticism levied on RLC is very unjust. I read a post sometime back which said that the only reason jose chose him is because he was physically well built. Just not fair on the kid.
-
Dont know about the likely INS. But OUTs get clearer by the day. Remy, oscar, Pedro, Mikel, Cahill, Matic are definites. Dont know if Costa, hazard, Thibaut would want to stay, and dont really care about the last 2.
-
Have to disagree. We have such a fractured defence. We dont know IF zouma will comeback and be as good as he was, because his game depended so much on his athleticism. Our only good defender seemingly has forgotten to play in his natural position, add a 19 year old winger who does not know how to defend, and we will continue to have such problems. Moreover, IF hazard stays, having kenedy and hazard on the same flank is like inviting trouble. Moreover we have baba/ake for that position. I would choose Ake over Kenedy, every day of every week. Why not juan? I have seen him play for juventus and fiorentina and he has been much better than what pedro has been either for barca/chelsea. I know Juan was very poor for us, but i would not judge him on 300 minutes of football spread over 12 games. I have made these same arguments in Juan's thread, so dont think I should get repetitive. Pedro started his career as the "next big thing". Or rather the next big thing like fans used to say for oscar. Infact, come to think of it, Pedro and oscar's careers, development has been very similar. And both have another similarity, they dont deserve to be playing for chelsea currently. If we had CL next season, I would have loved to have pedro around for his experience. But if we get EL somehow, it simply does not make any sense to have him sit on the bench. Rather play kenedy/musonda. Mate, Malouda was a double edged sword. Fair enough that he was our best player in 09/10 (I think he was better than Didier that season), but he was poor a season before and poor for 2 seasons after. THIS is exactly the kind of scenarios we should be avoiding. How many times is the club going to be make the mistakes? As a club we seem to keep going around in circles. We have a golden oppurtunity with some real gems like RLC, ake, Solanke, Kenedy, Musonda, Baba, Traore, even maybe Boga. Players like pedro simply dont bring anything in the long run and we would be back to where we were at the start of the season after a couple of seasons. I for one would be willing to go a couple of seasons trophyless (like bayern did for getting in players like alaba, muller, kroos). I would love a squad as follows for next season: Gk: Tibo, Begovic (HG), Blackman (HG) Defenders: Hummels (New CB), Zouma, Miazga (U-21), JT (HG), Azpi, Iva, Baba, Ake (HG) CMs: Naingollan, Vidal, Cesc (HG), Neves, RLC (HG), Baker (HG) Wingers: Hazard, Willian, Musonda (U-21), Kenedy (U-21) Strikers: Costa, Traore (U-21), maybe Pato? I know its a youth heavy squad with the likes of ake, baba, kenedy, musonda, RLC, baker, traore as substitutes. But this can be our Class of 2016. These kids do have the potential. Anyways, it just seems we want different things. I would be happy with a couple more years in exile if it meant an identity. Each to his own. Lets just hope the decisions taken help the club in getting success be it short or long term.

Will we have hazard here next season? Even in the case we do, is pedro really necessary? For me, the first change we need to make is our formation. Change it back to 4-3-3. Which means Hazard on the left and willian on the right. Pedro does not even come into contention when compared to these 2. We wont have any european competitions to play. Do we really want Pedro eating away kenedy's game time in domestic cups and the odd sub game here and there. Does he really add as much value. And in the case hazard leaves, is pedro good enough to be a starter on the wings with willian, HELL NO. Pedro has not been a starter in Barca for the last 5 years Mate. Pedro was a Pep regular when he was considered to be the "next big thing", but he simply did not develop the way he was supposed to be. Infact, he has regressed massively. His USP is his movement, but even that is nullified by his atrocious finishing. What we need to do is build a new team, and building it around a 30 year old has been or even having a 30 year old has been, with an elephant's touch, and headless chicken running is not the ideal thing.
-
Definitely NOT. Why should he? Because he performed against the league's 2 worst teams in villa and newcastle. His first touch is laughable, his dibbling is poor to say the least if not useless. His finishing is atrocious. Only thing that he is good at is movement. Might as well keep moses.
-
11 Players who are trying to play on the pitch with no passengers is good enough to beat teams. Hope we sell mercenaries like him as quickly as possible.
-
He is Lazy, right guys? This is the problem with this day and age. A manager can say something unwanted in the heat of the moment and every fan in the world would try to make it true even if the truth is light years different from it. Time and again I see people dissecting RLC's minutest mistakes and making it sound like he is sitting on his ass the whole time we dont have the ball. BULLSHIT!!! This is what RLC is capable of given a start rather than a 5 minute cameo while we are a goal down. His ball control, ball retention, passing in the close quarters, runs into the box make him a brilliant player. Yes, he is not a "workhorse", but i would take RLC over Ramires. Also, people need to understand that there is a massive difference between not being a work horse and being "LAZY". I even read a post sometime ago which said that since kenedy and traore were starting that proved that RLC must not be "good enough" or must be "lazy". HOGWASH!!! I just hope managers and players "speak" responsibly because they can have a major impact on such young players. Also, I hope people actually watch rather than making judgements on players. Anyways, I hope the kid keeps on proving his doubters wrong. Onward and Upwards, KID. Get In!!!
-
Miazga just tracked the striker and then forced the ball out of play. Now, Just imagine Cahill in this play. Would have let the striker turn, then run at him with his hands behind his back. The striker would have shot and Tibo "I cant defend my near post" Courtois would have conceded and the score would be 1-1.
-
So people STILL think he is not good enough? That "that" brazilian mercenary is better? Come on kid, Brilliant. GET IN!!!
-
Genuine Question, Can remy, Pato, Falcao survive one whole match?
-
Decent start, something that we have not done in god knows how long. Miazga looks impressive. His ball playing and passing have been brilliant. Baba still looks uncertain. RLC has been a joy to watch. Kenedy needs to stick to the wings more. Remy is useless.
-
In 11 minutes, RLC has already done more than what oscar has done all season.
-
No mate. I am blaming him for not managing our squad better. We have a shockingly small squad, and fighting at 3 fronts was impossible. Yet gus kept playing the same team in the league, FA cup and CL. The team that he has chosen today should have been starting after Jan itself giving the likes of pedro, hazard etc etc, time to heal their bodies and minds. Instead we kept playing the under-performing players and now we are truly and hopelessly screwed. Not just for this season but for the foreseeable future.
