  1. LVG has a horrible record with South American players, that is the only thing that is giving me hope atm.
  2. Whenever i see an Oscar vs Willian argument, i think to myself why does it even matter neither have shown to be good enough. Neither player have justified a guaranteed role in the starting XI. Hopefully next season they both canalize each other minutes, so we don't see both in the starting XI. Best case scenero when one is off form the other plays well. It would be interesting to see if Willian is so much better in the middle like some have claimed, and also if Oscar will finally have a breakout season with full summer rest.
  3. General Consensus? :carlo2: Who is this general consensus you talking about? football scouts? managers? analysts? fans?
  4. Sleep deprivation and lack of sleep does not equal no sleep at all. I used that example because i do acknowledge that Oscar does get some rest in the summer, his NT is not as grueling as his duty for Chelsea. Willian was ridding the bench for Brazil first of all. Second of all just because a theory does not effect everyone the same it does not mean the theory is false. I will go back to the sleep example. Studies show that lack of proper sleep(6-8hours) damages our cognitive ability, they have done actually brain scan that shows that. But that does not mean some people are not better then others in functioning without sleep. I know some people who are like machines and sleep around 4hours a day. You have the right to believe that Oscar will not do better next season, you can argue that of course. But i don't see how you can argue against the theory though. Btw at the end of the season Mou said the same thing, he believes Oscar will do better next season and he argued the fact he will get proper rest in the summer as a main contributing factor.
  5. Not sure if trolling or being serious here. Lets get off the football topic for a second. Think of the time when you didn't get much sleep and were sleep deprived, you are most focused and energized for the day in the beginning, as time goes on your energy is completely sapped. It is the same freaking theory lol.
  6. I would say a contract negotiation at this point has not been finalized and is still ongoing. His agent is trying to get Turan the best contract possible. His agent is doing his best to make sure to allude to Barca that Turan has other offers, that is why he has been saying he is negotiating with an unknown English team. It gives him leverage to negotiate the best possible contract for his client. As i have said this Turan saga is very similar to the time when we were linked to Pastore. To this day i believe we never made a bid for Pastore, but Zamp convinced everyone and more importantly PSG that we were in a bidding war with them. The rest as they say is history, Zamp bamboozled PSG and was awarded 50m for a player that was nowhere close to being worth that much. *Pastore btw had his best season 14/15 and he seems like heading in the right direction after four season at PSG.
  7. From reports it seems like Inter is the fav to land Salah, good place for him.
  8. I have not watch a single lick of CP games, but honestly is there any PL team you would send a youngster to? Not for me If Rayo is interested it should be a forgone conclusion, it is a great place for him. Paco is a wonderful manager. They play really good football.
  9. I would think he replaces Kondoggbia, if he is good enough --------Martial---------- YFC---Moutinho---Silva ----Pasalic--Toulalan
  10. Good players always become available, it is just about waiting and having a longer term perspective. It is better to sign a Matic then a Guarin. For me Turan is not a undisputed first team player like Matic, Costa, and Cesc were. Few of the signings we have made in the last few transfer window. You can say Turan is better then Willian and Oscar, but for me that is not good enough. It is quite easy to say Turan is much better then Cua, Oscar, and Willian. But i have seen enough football to know a comparison is not that easy. You never know how good Cuadrado, Oscar, and Willian would be if the situation was different. Our perception of Cuadrado was much different when he was at Serie A, and i am sure our perception of Oscar and Willian would be much different if the situation was changed around.
  11. Way too pessimistic on our players some of you. I do agree on Dave though, i don't think he is a top player in his position. For Costa; At this moment i think Suarez, Aguaro, Ibra, and Benzema are better then him. After that he makes as good of a case as anyone. We posted the same time. Pretty much but i do disagree with Lewa, i think he is in the same tier as Costa.
  12. Similar to Ivanvoic, played a lot RB but was always considered a more CB defender. Ramos played RB and CB at Sevilla, played more CB in his early days at Madrid. But due to the CB signings he was moved to RB primary until Mou arrived and then eventually was paired up with Pepe. It was always a forgone conclusion that Ramos would move to CB eventually. Perez is not biting he doesn't care if Ramos leaves, he doesn't care that he is Spanish and loved by the fans. Di Maria, Higuain, and Ozil all had wage disputes with Madrid, they were all eventually sold. Wouldn't surprise me if Ramos end up in the same scenario. Honestly it could go either way, i highly doubt Perez would agree to Ramos wage demands though.
  13. Where is he going? I think you are mistaken.
  14. More like Pastore saga from my experience.
  15. It is better to not sign anyone at the moment and wait for the right opportunity/player. If we sign Turan, we will miss out on the opportunity to sign a much better player if they do become available. Cuardado is a good example, few months later we all realize what a waste of money that was. Salah is another example, think of it this way we might have been in the running for Alexis Sanchez if we didn't sign Salah in the Jan window. Impulse signing has a cost.
  16. Honestly please try to use your brain before posting such things. It should be common sense that the situation is a world apart. Barcelona is in a position to sign a player like Turan, because they have 3 of the best attackers in the world(3 out of top5). They will play 90%+ games of Barcelona. If we want to reach the level of Barca we should try to sign a better player then Turan, who will play sparingly for Barca. Barca would never sign Turan if they didn't have the best attacking trio in the world.
  17. The logic is completely insane by some of you why you want Turan signed. Because he is better then Oscar? The focus is not even on Turan ability, the main argument used is that he is better then Oscar. It is funny some of you don't even rate Oscar one bit. Kinda like a thirsty and desperate dude who would welcome any girl because it is better then his current state. The correct argument should be is Turan skill set is what Chelsea needs? Is he the best available player we should be signing? Is he player that makes us much better and helps us become the best team in Europe?
  18. I honestly don't have the stomach for another Torres/Sheva. So i am against this signing. But shouldn't take anything away from watching Columbia, even James Rodriguez looked shit and found out in the copa america.
  19. I think you need to distinguish two parts of this youth policy. Buying young players like: Lukaku, KDB, Tibo, Sturridge, Bamford, Piazon, Salah, Atsu, Pasalic, etc. For me they are fringe first team players, young and talented players that will always have a resale value if it doesn't work out. This is indeed a good business model. Second is our Academy youth players; Kakuta, MacEchran, Chalobah, RLC, Baker, etc. You know players that have spent majority of their trade at Chelsea. We are failing in this department; from integrating them into the first team and from a financial standpoint. Chelsea academy is not cheap to run, it is arguably the most expensive academy in club football. Secondly these youth players are on high wages in comparison to other players in their age bracket. There is no way this is a successful business model.
  20. Man you really can't blame him if he decides to leave permanently, because deep down almost everyone here knows it is the best decision for his individual career.
  21. Globoesporte are extremely reliable, the equivalent of BBC.
  22. Relax indeed, we are talking about Alex freakin song. We are not missing out on much. Personally think if Monaco makes Moutinho available he would be a great signing. He is one of their highest paid players, with their project it makes sense for them to sell. Another player i like is Udinese Allan, a very good all around midfielder.
  23. There is a difference between pace and acceleration. Willian has a lot of more pace then Turan, but Turan has a better first step that he uses to break away from a defender.
  24. The idea putting a club/job above yourself and your family makes no sense to me. You shouldn't never put anything above yourself and your highest principles. I simply cannot imagine doing something that goes against my best interest and the best interest of the people i love and care for. I cant believe you are criticizing Cech for his professionalism. Cech has been a great professional throughout this. He handled his benching with absolute class, and it is not easy being benched at the top of your game. Should be commanded for his professionalism and handling of the situation. His stay this past season was quite generous of him. Look at how Iker has handled his situation at Real Madrid. Made a huge fuss over it with the media when Mou benched him. He uses his influence with the media to get what he wants.
  25. Yes the club will do what is in their best interest. Fans shouldn't be surprised when a player does the same. I don't think it is black and white as you make it sound. Players like Lampard, Terry, Cech, and Drogba loved playing for the club. They were loyal to the club to a certain extent, the relationship was quite beneficial to each party. Cech gave his best years to the club, showed as much of passion as you could ask for, sacrificed his body for the club; suffered one of the most infamous injury for a GK. Cech has been the absolute professional at Chelsea, classy and respected couldn't ask for a better ambassador for Chelsea.
