The problem is, not only with RLC but with all our academy lads is they dont play against many teams that are of similar standards. Our academy is very professional with all the latest mod cons and a very large support system. They come up against sides that you must agree look like school kids in comparison. There really arent that many teenagers that are of a standard to play in our 1st team let alone from our own academy. Mou is under pressure to make our academy become money makers but it doesn't mean that WE have to play them does it? The academy would still be successful if the lads went on to play for other teams in the UK and across Europe. YES I'm sure that EVERY academy lad dreams to be in our 1st team one day but we need to buy players thats best for Chelsea. Theyve got to realise that they just arent ready to play in the big league yet. RLC included.

Thers many players with big egos and theres nothing wrong with that if theyre as good as they think they are. But you watch any player who gets benched for no apparent reason. They all go into a strop. And IF they really are as good as they think then you cant really blame them if they want to go play somewhere that they will start. And its the same if they want silverware. They will play somewhere that they can win if theyve that much ambition. Just watch Eden if we go silverware less. That lads got an ego and full of ambition.

It seems like its ok gor us to lose against a bunch of kids. And it wouldnt make a blind bit of difference to the squad if we got hammered in every friendly we played. Apparently losing doesnt affect players morale. After a loss I can normally just go grab a couple of pints, shake my head around and be ready to take on the world again but there just seems to be alot more going on here than we know and its got me really nervous. I really hope I'm just being a big girls blouse!

I wasn't too sure about bringing in a player of his age when I first read the links with him. But I've read up as much as I can on him and the more I've read the more I like him. Having a back 4 of Dave/Happy/Stones/Baba would be very interesting. All are fast/clever/skillfull/wise beyond their ages and multi talented. And with them all being young they can be together for many years. With Baba and Hazard teamed up and Dave where we need him the balance would be better than it is now.

I only blame Mou because he is our figurehead. Hes the one who should be putting forward the point of view as having one of the best footballing minds in history. But I do remember when he first came back and there was reports that there was a clause in his contract stating he wouldn't be in charge of transfers. I do agree with you bud that the result means nothing to us in the grand scheme that is Chelsea life they do show everyone how the team is in alot of ways. They show how disorientated we might be, how fit players are, how good certain players are, how well they might or might not play together, the areas that positions that need strengthening. Where the results dont mean anything silverware wise they can also make a real big difference to our season. If we get steamrolled by this lot how is that going to help our confidence? These are about the weakest team we shall be playing so what is going to happen when we play someone good? We need the lads to go into the season, which is coming fast, on a high. Thats why theres no such thing as a friendly.
