  1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  2. Cheers for clarifying. Uefa nights will still have reduced capacity, then, as the regular seats will have to be put in again.
  3. Or, you know, just buy an RB and accept Azpi will be on the left for almost all of the rest of his time here. Hazard likes the left because it's less congested than the centre. I'd imagine that if we buy Reus or whoever we'll go with 2 proper fullbacks - I don't think that's actually been done since the early 2000s tbh. Not against it, though. In that case, it'll almost certainly be another converted centre half - Christensen, Zouma, Kalas in the short term comes to mind.
  4. http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2015/7/3/8888429/interesting-scuttlebutt-about-stamford-bridge-expansion Those "in the know" reckon that capacity will be 65k rather than the 60k originally reported; and the pitch will be widened to meet UEFA regs. I would have thought the 65k is so that on UEFA nights capacity is above 60k still because sections have to be closed to accomodate TV equipment. Wouldn't know about that kinda thing, though.
  5. We don't need him. I lay money on our next CB pairing after Terry moves on (hopefully in 3 seasons' time when he's broken the appearance record) will be either Zouma-Ivanovic or Cahill-Ivanovic. (Ivanovic will almost certainly be the next captain, unless Jose gives the armband to Cesc) Christensen will then be the 3rd CB, and our RB the 4th (maybe Kalas?), as it is now. Let me reiterate; Zouma-Varane will not work until either is in their very late 20s and has experience. Fyi, that'll be in about 6-7 seasons' time. (To put it into perspective, by that time we should have left SB, played at Wembley for 3 years, and moved back into rebuilt SB again and spent a season there). Forget about it. Both are fantastic athletes, but we only need one of em. And we got our man Zouma for a bargain price.
  6. Would be a fantastic all round midfielder to have, nothing wrong with signing over 30 players, provided the price is right, of course.
  7. I like it but I ordered last season's shirt with Terry on the back (with the nice CL writing) cos it's cheaper now.
  8. 670 CFC appearances and counting. Next season, assuming he plays 50 times (he played 49 last season, it could happen) he will be on 720. Bonetti is on 726, easily catchable. if he does the same the season after (which would be outstanding for a 36 year old defender) he goes to 776. Chopper is on 795. It's distant but just how amazing would it be if he became our record appearance maker? Does he have 3 seasons in him, though, is the question. I honestly think he does. 126 games is a big ask, though. Even if it is over 3 seasons.
  9. I think that people are underestimating the strength of our current team. Courtois Ivan Cahill Terry Azpi Matic Cesc Willian Oscar Hazard Costa Analysing the problems with this squad... A lack of pace at centre back. Mostly Terry's fault, but the areas he benefits means that it outweighs being able to play a high line (Cahill-Zouma does not work, and neither would Varane-Zouma). But to improve it, we could include Zouma in more games to basically be Terry's legs. In central midfield, Matic Cesc is still fairly good. The problems with it is that it is liable to be pressed as Cesc is not great at defending and caves in on the ball when pressured at times. Playing Zouma there can work but only in emergency situations because it completely ruins the fluidity of our game, with Matic-Zouma that is. But he arguably does the job that Mou wants better than Mikel, who is NOT GOOD ENOUGH for us. Those that do only think it because they have not seen him play in a while. Zouma can fill in there when possible and Song's dynamism would offer an alternative of sorts so Cesc could go to number 10 without our passing game being completely ruined. Attacking midfield; there is only one problem with it. A lack of goal scoring prowess. There are variables in the squad that can change that - Cuadrado coming good would be one of them, and Oscar on form makes us play much, much better. Next season will be crucial for him. We'd all like Reus, but it's unlikely tbh. For me, the only way our AM 3 will be improved is if somebody comes in with a too-good-to-refuse offer for Willian (ie >£40m) and Reus or somebody of his calibre is available, cos Oscar ain't going nowhere and neither is Hazard. Strikers; there is no chance that what happened last year will happen again - both our first and second choice strikers being injured at the same time. Traore is coming in, I'd be unsurprised if he becomes shared 3rd choice with Solanke next season. Those that mention the Champions League; it was not down to the quality of the squad that we lost our match. It was because we simply didn't want it as much as PSG did. Well, and some poor marking in the box. If we'd played it like we were playing against Arsenal at home last season, we would have won comfortably.
  10. Yes, yes, yes It's unbelievably expensive for a guy my age (fyi, 16) to go to a match and even harder to go with mates - the tickets for trains n the tube are about £40 and the ticket itself is £40-50 and then after blowing money on drinks then you're looking at £150. Per person. Which seems expensive to people with jobs, let alone a student.
  11. Where will he slot in the team, do you reckon? Btw do Monaco still have CL/EL football?
  12. Nope nope nope nope nope There must be experience and leadership within CB's, it's the reason that when Terry retires in the next 1-3 seasons Ivanovic-Cahill/Zouma will be more likely than Zouma-Cahill as Cahill only plays well next to a Cb who tells him what to do, which is why he under performs for England and when Terry is rested. Stones-Zouma would make too many mistakes.
  13. That's because Spain use wingbacks rather than traditional fullbacks like Azpi, while Mourinho prefers a more traditional system is free winger defensive fb unless his winger isn't creative enough and/or cannot or does not service the box effectively see Willian and Ivanovic.
  14. Depends what you're looking for in an LB. If a traditional fullback, Azpi all the way. If your wingers are sub par and the fullback is supposed to be a wing back in effect, then no. But Azpi for us is perfect.
  15. Then that's simply a class deficiency, you should at least appreciate him for all the amazing things he has brought this club for the last 11 years. He may be a gooner but he's given everything to us and I simply can't accept this bullshit.
  16. Good luck Petr (but not too much, obviously), you'll be fondly remembered by all of us. Enjoy your retirement
  17. yep. We actually bought him as a replacement to Frank - he's a box to box player by trade, but at Elche he has spent most of his play time on his defensive game in the Maka role. Ideal partner for Matic personally, he has everything in the locker. Everything Mou would want. To play holding midfield in a top flight team at 19/20 years old is a brilliant feat. And he can be like Cesc. I think and hope he takes his opportunity to impress Mou during pre season. He could be perfect for us.
  18. Yeah, but he should be. Great player. If he was English he would probably be playing ahead of Ramires and Mikel.
