Imo Fabregas will have to be given a Pirlo role if we want to continue to play him in bigger matches - that is, playing behind 2 athletic midfielders who can recover for him and basically be his legs and tackling ability. (ex used: Vidal. I suppose Willian could go there in emergencies.) Cesc *Vidal* Matic Oscar The downside is that it will end in Hazard being shoehorned into a second striker role, supporting Diego Costa in attack. Which could either end well or badly for him. It could also spell the beginning of the end for Iva, JT in defence as it will be impossible to protect them when 2 midfielders already have to do the work of 3, let alone be 30% of the defence.

Terry is a one club man. The day he is released is the day he retires.
-
I'd love to see that but with JT in defence.
-
Mikel would have slowed down midfield even further and ruined any build up play we had left. When will we learn that Matic-Mikel-Cesc will never work and never has?
-
^^yeah this, whenever he doesn't tick the team is disgraceful.
-
We could play colkett instead. And I'm only half kidding, the boy has always impressed me.
-
(insert 'him to') He better be given a coaching role when he retires, if not I'll be furious.
-
tbh I don't understand why he didn't play really.
-
...And Cahill. And Ivanovic.
-
-
yeah so it was basically a coin flip between him and Cahill. It's a statement to the board that he needs more players, as Souness said post match, than an indication that he's finished.
-
No JT?
-
It's not crisis quite yet. Barcelona went through a similar situation in January.
-
IMO they would complement each other perfectly. Hazard creates, Reus finishes. Reus would be our RW threat while Azpi would provide width and taking Iva out of the equation.

What about a joint effort between Charlie Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy? -

Arnold Schwarznegger please. -
What was wrong with JT? He was fine imo. As for Cesc, it's okay to have a player like that, as long as you have a player to replace him. IMO, Oscar would have been playing, taking both Ramires and Cesc out of the side, had he not had an injury. Ramires - Come on, he was slow, and did very little with the ball. I'll give you that he didn't do much wrong, but he is finished, for me. Agree otherwise though - although Bego should have been MOTM imo. With a normal keeper that could've been a rout.
-
You are a Mournho hater. Don't take advantage of us having a poor game to look like mr 20/20 fucking hindsight sitting on his arse on a nice sunny day.
-
He looked slow, which is his main strength, is it not?
-
Sorry, what did he do wrong? Both him and Cahill were fine. Too busy plugging the leaks caused by playing Iva and Cesc on the same side.
-
Not gonna lie, Hazard-Oscar-Reus still gives me tingles. Please Roman. Pleaaaaaaase?

Yeah if the board doesn't listen to him then he will leave. Can't really blame him for that either, the squad is too thin and it's obvious. It has been said that he hasn't been this unhappy since the tail end of the end of his first spell here. Let's see if he rides it out. -

Not excited? :D @We Hate Scouse you won the bet on when I'd be back hahaha -
Oscar will probably be unavailable, according to Jose. Bego Azpi Cahill Terry Baba Matic Cesc Moses Willian Hazard Costa Honestly with Oscar unavailable we are extremely limited in options that we can play. Our squad is so thin it's not even funny. Hazard MUST spark, and Cesc too. Both look average atm and that's not something this team can afford.

That was different. Their team was finished, David Moyes was the unfortunate guy that had to rebuild an entire team and get the results in the mean time. Impossible. I KNOW we were shit today, and there are many reasons why. We missed Oscar, BADLY. I think he would have opted against Fabregas and Ramires if he was available. Souness on Sky said it best. In the second half he was making a statement to the board. "I need more players." Look at the bench we had today. Blackman, Zouma, RLC, Cuadrado, Falcao, Remy, Mikel. He has no options. He can't NOT play Ivanovic, there are no alternatives. He can't change the game in any way. And he only had a suspension and an injury. The best he can do is throw on Zouma in midfield and change to ultra defensive mode. I'm worried, however. Hazard looks like he left his talent boots hanging up in the dressing room today. Costa looks like Drogba last season atm (alright fair enough he should have won us a red card for Fernandinho's elbow), Fabregas looks like he's lost that final ball completely. City knew how to dominate us, you can't knock them for it, they knew that if they press that right hand side of Iva, Cesc (who when pressed becomes useless), Willian we collapse. Fantastic tactical job. But in all fairness, we didn't look that bad in the second half. 2 defensive errors made it look much worse than it was, had we not conceded further I'd say it'd be a positive to take away.
