His price is 130m euros which is 110m pounds. So we are overpaying it around 50m euros.

Inter paid 74m euros for him 2 years ago when he was younger. His goal per minutes if you take away penalties is not that different in United and Inter. 167 mins per goal vs 178 mins per goal in the league.

So I have no idea how his price is over 50m euros bigger now...

It's 90m pounds as far as I know.

  2. I don't consider him world-class, but I think he is excellent, just below world-class. His price should be around 70 million pounds, but in today's striker's market it is what it is. He WILL improve us, not as much as Lewa or possibly Haaland, but he will.

I don't think anyone would have something against this happening if the price was lower. But it ain't our money, guys, and we got Kante for 30 millions, Mendy for 20 millions, Azpi for 10 millions, Mount and James for free. Sometimes you overpay, sometimes you underpay. We will overpay for him, but for about 25 millions, not for 50 like we did with Kepa.

Also, I get the feeling that WHOLE WORLD is put on strikers' backs, reading this comments. Would he bring us Premier league, would he bring us UCL, would he improve us? I don't remember anyone asking those questions about let's say Kounde, 70 million pounds rated defender that has only one good season under his belt. Or about Kepa, 80 million keeper, when he was getting here. If you ask me - Mount and Havertz will bring us Premier league, and UCL, again. Not Lukaku, they are better players than him. But Lukaku will help THEM massively, and that is what we should think about and forget about his price tag.

My guess is that Havertz and Pulisic did nothing in the last game against Arsenal and Ziyech did score the winner in the semi-final. So, I guess it became a bit of a toss-up between the 3 and out of our attackers, Pulisic is arguably the best when it comes to coming off the bench.

If anything, it's probably baffling that Tuchel didn't start with Havertz-Werner upfront and Mount deeper in midfield considering it was working well recently. Werner can be OK at leading the line but he's better off playing off someone upfront.

Kepa played because he has been the cup keeper - something Tuchel has mentioned - although you could argue that Tuchel could have been more ruthless but think there's also some club politics involved in this.

Tuchel said he played Alonso because of his height and experience but he brought Chilwell later on anyway. Chilwell was clearly desperate/motivated to play against his former side. No clue why Tuchel didn't try to harness that. Went with Alonso instead and we had 2 malfunctioned attacks from the wingbacks.

Havertz at #9 and Werner a little behind-left, with Mount behind them worked good. I don't know why he changed that for such a big game.

Also, Kepa being cup GK is bullshit to me. I don't know if Mendy would have saved that goal, but nevertheless.

Totally agree on Alonso. We looked retarded on WB.

Tuchel has some questions to answer. It would be crazy to play THAT good against Real/Porto first game/Atletico and then finish season with no trophies and barely getting into top 4 (that's my prediction of how season would end).

  4. Am I the only one confused of why Ziyech played from start? I am questioning choice of playing Kepa and Alonso too. Also, Azpi on RWB against clearly inferior team? I get that he wanted James to cover fast player in Vardy, but Azpi did fuck all in attack.

    Questioning Tuchel tbh.

And Jorginho, my word, he was awful. Not just this game, he is awful for at least a month. So much wrong passes and lost possession. But I get it, we have no back up for him, Kova is not ready yet.

  5. I think our Saints setup was first of all too defensive. After that there were some players that were clearly awful and should've gone out before 65'.

I can't understand leaving Alonso on the pitch. CHO was not so good, but if he maybe tried him at LWB it would give him needed kick and more space to get in the game. Also, switching to 4-2-3-1 would not be crazy too - bring Chilly for Alonso and bring Ziyech (on right wing) for James/Azpi, switch CHO to left wing. Alonso was just plain terrible. Zouma would be better in 4-2-3-1 too, and with Kante in the team, why not?

If he decided to stay with 3-4-3, why not Jorginho instead of Kante at 60'? I mean, Kova wasn't at his best, but if you pair him with J5, that could be completely different story.

  6. In 3-4-3 from front 3 only Mount shows promise, all others are not good enough. Especially Pulisic, Ziyech and Havertz; Werner and Abraham have a good game sometimes.

We will still be dependent on our midfield masterclass from Kova and even Jorginho.

This is why I am not worried. He used to be one of the fastest CBs around and has kept himself fit. It is the strain of playng twice per week that is getting to him rn and he still looks the best defender in the CL final rounds tourney. He needs to be managed carefully but he could give us so much in terms of experience and football IQ. Zouma, Rüdi, Zouma are fairly quick so he can just tell them where to run basically lol.

Exactly. I have a good feeling about this potential transfer.

  8. Ok, this may sound stupid, but I did small research on Silva with the help of Fifa and PES ratings from history. He was fast, and I mean FAST defender. I get that he is 35 now, but he probably kept some of that pace even now and is faster or fast the same as an average 26-yo central defenders (faster than Dunk for sure).

I do not understand why people compare Aouar and Havertz as like for like

the main player (s) Aouar would put at risk for time are Kovacic, Barkley, Gilmour, Kante, and Shitwater (who is not in the mix anyway), and I guess, on a stretch, RLC

First, I mentioned that because someone else said that if we don't get Havertz, Aouar could be an option. Secondly, we are in a need of more productive midfielders (along with defenders and keeper) so I don't understand why would we spend money on Aouar. We are already filled with midfielders with lousy production rate, why get another one?

  10. I don't understand how could Aouar be option for us? Isn't he player in Modrić's mold (just not that good ofc), that kind of type? Why would we need that kind of player and not some highly productive number 10, like Havertz?

Assuming that Kovačić and Kante are worthy starters.

Maybe Guardiola will reach the semis if he actually stops overthinking things...

I think it would be like asking him not to be him. Core of his genius is overthinking and being like that. Same as it was with Ronaldinho, dude was just careless and a bit crazy, it's sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit.
