IMO, should be put in the CM with a proper workhorse behind him. He has defensive capability and would still run forward when necessary.
-
Yeah, this. I was speaking solely about our players, as I believe he was the only actual ray of light. I do agree, but would also add that it seems like he gets the could shoulder a tad too often. I saw at least 3 occasions in which Diego and Pedro didn't pass the ball to him in an open space and instead opted for a backpass to Fabregas or dribble, which mostly failed.
-
Putting my bias towards him aside, was he not our best player today? Yes, he did missplace a couple of passes and was sometimes unaware of a person behind him, but he was good in a side of pathetic performers.
-
Granovskaia has milked out so much money from clubs that I just can't see us selling Hazard below 60.
-
According to Di Marzio, United are in pole position to sign him.
-
Don't get too worked up about it. Italians lie all the time. People believed Conte wasn't coming, because he said he can go back to Italy. It's only a question IF we pay the desired money and he wants to come.
-
^While I agree our board have made mistakes, your posts are all the same and the moaning is actually annoying. We got it that you can do an unreal job as manager/DoF/Chairman/Advisor. But would you please stop posting the same moaning posts in every thread? On topic: Di Marzio said we are in advanced negotiations and I hope that is the real story. We will probably pay them 40 mil. Euro and that would be it. Maybe 35 with bonuses. Ofcourse, IF it happens. Which I hope, because he SHOULD be our number 1 target.
-
Was just watching the highlights. WHAT KIND OF SAVES WERE THOSE?! My God. Thibaut has a long way to go. He needs to pick it up this season. I hope he does it, even if I am critical of him, and his comments and performances aren't doing him favours.
-
Swear, if we get Naingollan and Vidal/Kante(and he is on form) we will be title favourites with the lack of CL matches. Also, if Conte hits the ground running
-
I do agree, but let's keep in mind the fact, that we had a relatively easy 2nd half, but they still demolished us twice on the counter. I don't think subbing Matt off actually made a marginal difference. Personal opinion ofcourse. It is based on some frustration.
-
Tbf, Reus also has stamina problems. I agree he needs to work on it,but if it's not meant to be, drain the maximum and have a good player rotate him. I hope he pushes for it, though. He's done it up until now in his career.
-
You wonder why so many youths do not make it here, one mistake and you are subbed. Baba got this treatment and is shattered, same as Miazga. Although it was mot his mistake to begin with, as he cleared the ball corectly. For some weird reason Mikel, who is our supposed CDM decided to become a 3rd CB, so Siggurdson was left alone. Hope he starts next game, again.
-
Our best player today by a country mile. Still can't get my head around the fact, he, of all people, got subbed off for Falcao. Calm, cool, collective,a few misplaced passes in the beggining, but definitely grew into the game and was our best. Fabregas's bad game cemented that.
-
Unreal game. Honestly. Great distribution, use of physicality. Yes, he often walks around the pitch. Reason why, IF we invest in him, I hope we Naingollan, so you have a dynamic workhorse, who will free him from 60% of his defensive duties. His one touch passing, his sheer use of body strength to outmuscle opponents and his technique are all there for him to be a bang on box-to-box mid.
-
He's a fan favourite and a childhood Milan fan. He's said it himself that he doubts wanting to play anywhere else. Lots of GKs just want a solid spot for a team, rather than anything else, so he's not going anywhere.
-
To be fair, Griezmann relying on his one touch football and movement against Delaney, Shawcross, etc. would be a disaster.
-
I hope you don't get offended by what I am going to say, but this post, is one of the most stupid I have read on here. Vidal IS THE best box-to-box mid in the game right now. People who have watched him under Conte and in Juventus know what I mean. I don't watch Bayern regularly, it just seems he hasn't settled well. There is nobody in this role of football, that we could do better with. Not even Pogba. And I am dead serious about this. One of the most unreal players in my lifespan, to be fair. Unreal workrate and immence technique, combined with fantastic defensive qualities and you have one of the best CM's in world football, a gem for any team. I have said it in the Naingollan thread, couple of pages before: IF, we sign one of these two or the two together, you will finally see the flaws we had with players like Oscar, Matic, Mikel, Lampard(when aging and not being able to boss a midfield, like when at his peak). We WILL have the midfield which will finally be able to pass the ball correctly, whether or not they are under pressure AND actually dominate the midfield. Something we have lacked ever since we lost the Ballack-Lampard - Essien/Mikel trio.
-
It is a contract. You can legally find a path to brake it. It's just that we haven't inserted the option, so WE have to pay a certain compensation. Especially if he wants to come back here with a reassured place in the 11.
-
So you'd prefer a Shinji Okazaki to a Dimitar Berbatov for example? Out of the odd 4, Leicester have taken advantage of the downfall of big teams. They aren't lazy, true, but they have fallen off with pressure getting to them. While I never said that Ruben isn't lazy, which I don't know why you jumped the gun in the first place, I also said he is adjusting his body, which I am kind of doubtful you understand, because you either don't play football or if you do, it's never been on a football pitch. My post was with exact sense, he is lazy, but needs time to be seen, whether he can just. On the other hand, I don't know if lazy players set the standards for the team. Eden is lazy in training, according to report,... our best player. Overall, your post was completely out of blue, knee jerk reaction, without a shadow of doubt, thoughtless. Because Ruben IS one of the best players in our club in terms of technical ability, passing and physique. Just needs that stamina and workrate. HENCE WHY, he should be next to Mikel and Cesc, rather than be played at 10.
-
Thing is, yes, he is very lazy, but Mourinho's brainwashed most of our fanbase, wanting workhorses. I'm not saying he should up his game, but people want him to eat the grass off, which his body obviously can't handle. He deserves to be an automatic starter until the end of the season. Which he won't
-
Can't wait until we bag some proper CM or go to 4-3-3 without him and look a completely changed side. Most frustrating player to have ever been at Chelsea in recent history. Honestly, I could deal with Bosingwa's bad crossess, Anelka's 0 workrate and egoism, Malouda's braindeadness, Kalou's everyday miss, but this guy...He has nothing that actually makes him likeable. Yesterday, he made a shit ton of mistakes. Passes, decisions, dribbles. Don't get me started on his backheels. Tried 3 and failed every single one of them. You're bad enough as it is, don't try to be attractive, you can't. Ruined so many counters. Honestly. If this guy is with us next season, we deserve the position we are in.
-
He has said it himself he is adjusting physicly to his body weight and the speed of BPL. I doubt, he is being that lazy on purpose. It's just that he saves up stamina. Hence why he should be put next to Mikel and Cesc, but hey, Matic and Oscar do much more. Oh...
-
Did more in 10 minutes than Oscar in 2 straigt matches. Keep him on the bench.
-
On his mistakes, as DJ Khaled would say: Another one.
-
Looooool. People on here act like they are watching the Serie A. Cuadrado has been okay. He's not shining, he's not shite. Reason why Juve will not pay 20mil. for him. Take whatever money and run.
