That is one of the reason Barca sold him, he is just not good enough in big games and often being outplayed. His energy and pace meant he always need time to pick out a pass and in big games you don't get that.

Think we will see a lot more of this next season especially in the big games. This is what happens when all you know is defending well and counter attacking, when other big teams try to do the same we will struggle. Oh and for all the pace we got we place some of the slowest football ever.

Can't face reality, Hazard is 3rd best player in the world according to people on here. Remy is good and will lead us to glory in the absence of Diego because he scored nearly 10 goals against mid table/relegation contender teams last season and at Newcastle/QPR. It is easier just go back to a scrapegoat like Ramires though.

PSG all over again. Hazard having no influence at all, everyone here say he is the 3rd best player in the world, well those type of players break the deadlock in matches like this. Suarez, Messi, Ronaldo all done it. Most high profile games are not full of spaces for him to explore and make those great dribbling, so he needs to adapt to games like this.

Wait so now we are gonna bring wages in to justify it? Is £200k a week for the best defender in the world not worth it compared to the potential £60-£100k Stones will be getting? This is the exact thing that Liverpool and Arsenal kept on doing to justify themselves from breaking their wages 'structure'.

I am not completely doubting his ability, but RATHER THE LOGIC the club seems to be using for its new policy. Apparently potential now is worth nearly as much as a peak top class player. For example rumors of us considering going up to 34m for Stones is baffling if you consider Ramos was rumored to be available for 40m before he signed a new contract. If we don't have money I understand but for some reason we seems hell bent on investing in potential for big fees, a mistake that costs Arsenal and Liverpool dearly in the last decade.

Funny how 20m-25m euros for an unknown LB seems to be OK but around a few million more for an established name like Pedro is considered not worth it...

Torres just scored over 20 goals, probably earning himself one last season. Also we already spent around 50m on Willian and Schurrle so due to FFP we couldn't spend another 30-40m on Costa.

So we effectively sign Stones for £39m anyway?

Don't know much about him apart from a couple of Italy games at big tournaments which he seems to played well. Then again most Serie A player struggle in BPL so I am not sure this can be a good move. Don't think he is a big name or good enough to be starting for us but could be wrong.
