I wait around all day incase we announce him and then as soon as I take an afternoon nap it happens and I miss it.
    😆😆😆
    LETS GOOOOO!
I distinctly recall saying when we were first linked with him a couple of months ago that it would be impossible. With Barkley and RLC still here I'm still not sure how we've pulled this off! I figured we'd have to shed at least a couple of players before even considering making a move for Havertz.
    What a ridiculous signing.

Literally, I am over the moon. We have totally and absolutely revitalized our attack and the best part is, they can all play together for SO MANY years! I cannot even begin to imagine the chemistry.

    Welcome Kai!
the best is: he is not gonna return to the NT. Instead he will stay in London and train with Frank for a full 9 days

    What a transfer window.
Havertz completes one of the best windows in our history. And a window befitting of our stature as a European force.
World class talent with their best years to come.
    Hi Kai.

It’s half their yearly turnover .
still, imagine him in a midfield with kovacic and billy. Very lightweight but incredible technique. Will cut through parked buses like a freshly forged katana

Name just one Chelsea midfielder who is even remotely solid in the final 3rd?
You don't think we need midfielder like KDB or Bruno?
Frank was screaming in January for someone to bring goals and creativity and we even had Pedro and Willian. We absolutely need Kai. Unless you want to 'celebrate' top4 again and again in the coming years.

Fucking hell, I thought I would go watch Sevilla wipe that daft grin off Conte's face and make Lukaku cry and come back here to see people happy.....No, they are still moaning as if it's their money
I'm glad I don't sit near some of you at SB you moaning bastards

Why are people so concerned about price? City spent more on Cancelo and Mendy and they are not even starters.
And now they go again with Ake, Koulibaly...

Mate, he was the best LB in the PL until the whole Leicester team collapsed. Great carry the ball and much, much more mobile than Alonso. While he's not world class going forward (yet) but he's more than adequate and can only get better.
Theres a reason most of the biggest clubs in the league (ourselves and both Manc clubs) have been linked with buying him for a huge fee. The talent is there. We just have to trust Frank to bring the best out of him.
Plus, £50m isn't a massive fee in 2020. City have paid that for like 3-4 different fullbacks. At least it's not £80m as was speculated because if he didn't work out with that sort of fee we'd be fucked.

First half of the season everyone was creaming their pants over chillwell.
Second half of the season Lecister drop in form and now he is the worst there is.
    Over the top.
Chilwell is a great buy, worth the price for a young top English players who can be with us for nearly a decade!

Remember, even the very best fullbacks in world football look shaky at times against great attackers. That's just a fact of modern football. Robertson, TAA, Kyle Walker. All can be got at defensively. Look at that CL semi between Bayern and Barca. Some of the world's best fullbacks on display and both teams were wide fucking open in the wide defensive areas.
So any opposition fans saying Chilwell is a joke defensively can pipe down. He's average defensively just like every class fullback.

Maybe he enjoyed life in London more. Maybe he enjoyed Premier League football more. Maybe he found out he impregnated three women in the UK after his move to Paris.
That message could mean anything. People need to find something better to do.
At the end of the day I'm happy to have him back to be honest. I'll take the good, the bad and the ugly. I just love the bloke. Let's just hope the last window (Chelsea spent +/- 120 mil) is an indicator of the club not resting on their laurels anymore.
I don't like his number though.

    So let me get this straight;
Chelsea spend the whole summer trying to buy a quality cb. People moan because it wasnt happening as early as Kante and Batshuayi. Even though the main target was a Napoli player who are notoriously hard to deal with and they also sell their star striker. The chairman admiys yesterday we bid over £50m for him. People moaned about are 'cheap board'.
We had over, quality options. For BIG money turned down. Clubs just would not negotiate. Fast forward 2 days before deadline day. Everything looks dead in the water. 'Stupid board, cant they see we need a Cb?!', 'here comes another Djiloobobobodrilri'.
We end up buying David Luiz back. The guy who was a beast against Napoli and Munich no less when we won the champions league - WHILE INJURED! - and partnered a midfield with matic which saw us shit down all top teams (city, Liverpool, United, Arsenal) with domination in the middle of the park that we havent really seen since (discounting king Kante).
Because, in the situation we were in, it was really better to have just bought Alonso and waited for a world class cb (forgetting we need to get back into the top 4 first!)

Cheer up. We didnt stick with Terry and Cahill in defence. We didnt sign a papylibidibidi. IVanovic may be benched! And we got the Geezer back with Spine and character this team hasnt had since Drogba and Cech left.

The more this sinks in the happier I am
we need some passion and fight in the team - not the limp performances of last season
all of our defenders have a mistake in them - as do all other teams defenders - I just have a feeling this time round he will be a little more polished.
I'm definitely looking forward to him and Zouma in defence - two big crazy characters
Well done to all involved for rescuing the transfer window - decent signings, decent money - impressed  - I know I have been massively critical - but fair's fair - I was wrong and should have had more belief, I think last season jaded me more than I care to admit!
Lets keep the pressure up on those Northern Monkeys and if the draw - we could be top after next game  Roll on!!!
p.s. Please try to cheer up forum - last year is gone, look to the future

Same with every "top" CB. They all make errors but because David is so colorful, outgoing, and such a huge personality he's scrutinized and criticized more than anyone else.
How many times did we see Kompany make stupid errors the last time he was fit for an extended period? So many. Ramos is hugely mistake prone. Thiago Silva is considered one of the two best CB's in the world but makes mistakes.
Gab Marcotti wrote a piece for ESPN this morning about Luiz and summed him up perfectly - When he does well no one remembers. When he does poorly no one forgets.
Hes a very good player the vast majority of the time and no one says anything. He has a single howler and its front page news.

Isn't it funny how Luiz and Ramos are both quite error-prone and make incredibly dumb moves at times yet the latter is praised into the heavens and the former is the butt of many jokes? Ramos has collected like 500 yellow cards and 200 red cards in his career as well.

Most certainly a different window then some of the recent past where we loaned/sold Lukaku, Mata, Schurrle, Luiz, etc and bought the likes of Pedro, Cuadrado, Baba, etc.
I can think of three key acquisitions from Mourinho version 2.0: Willian, Costa and Fabregas.
I think Conte has the moves right for the most part, i.e. loaning out Cuadrado, even Traore to get him playing time and keeping Moses, etc.
I think we are only going to get better under Conte and with Kante bossing DM and Conte training Luiz, David will look better and bring the passion

He is better than Cahill and Terry... Some of you are acting as if we downgraded our defence.
He is a different type of CB. A flashy one. One with a whole lot of skill. All his mistakes were overblown when he played here, and I'm sure that won't change now that he is here again. His positioning is lazy at times, but he is a tough player along with the fact he is so skilled. He gives us pace up the back as well which is something we needed.

For all the talk of his mistakes, I really don't think he makes any more than someone like Cahill or Kompany in recent years.

Can't fault Sideshow Bob with his love for CFC, rather have him than some mercenary who is eyeing his next move or playing half-assed as not to get injured
