I love the optimism. I am optimistic that we will win. By all means I hope it will be a walk in a park. I don't think that will be the situation. Sunderland have 6 games left (18 points). They will fight every match for points and they will do their best to stay in the EPL. That means the match will not be easy. If we score many goals that will be great, but I will be satisfied with 3 points regardless of the score line.

If you mean horrible performance regarding Salah, I would disagree. He did well, but not great. If you mean a horrible performance as a team, I still disagree . It has been our problem all season long that we have a poor chance to goals ratio. We tend to miss a lot. For a moment forget about the two chances in the first 15 mins wasted by Salah. We had many other chances. Two of them should have been really simple for Eto if he was on his normal day and a third pass that Eto just stopped. Watch the highlights again, you will see what I am talking about. If we took our chances we would have won this by at least 3 goals if not more. Nothing against Schurrle, but it is not like he takes a lot of shots and scores consistently from long ranges. By all means he can and he has a good shot, but it is not like he has been doing that a lot. Well anyways, I can't say what might have been if Schurrle was on and Salah was out. We will never know really. I am glad we got the 3 pts at the end.

Well the first, Salah is not different from any young player at Chelsea. Like Oscar, Schurrle and Hazard, very young. It will take time till he matures as a football player and for him to find his form. He will go, like any youngster in the world, through inconsistency phases. It is quiet normal brother. The important thing is that he keeps progressing. He is a good kid and a smart one. He believes in himself and is hungry. Check out his miss against Newcastle on his debut. He was mad at himself for that miss. Check his reaction every time he misses or feels he should have done better. The kid believes he can do better and wants to. Such a character will succeed. All in good time As far as people's reactions are concerned, well it is really ok. You know how we as Egyptians react when someone misses a shot or an easy chance . The English, French, Brazilians, all football fans are kind of the same. It is the beauty of football or sports in general. After than win of Liverpool, all we need is for us to win our remaining games and for City to drop 2 more points (one draw). This means Chelsea against all odds will be the EPL champions this year. So it was really crucial for us to win those 3 points. If Salah scored his two good chances, fans would have been relieved. It is normal to have negative reactions. But look at the bright side, most fans here in the forum like the kid, have hopes that he might be something great and support him, while at the same time acknowledging that he needs to work on himself more. I trust this kid, but as I said, all in good time .

Judging on the first half performance, Salah was moving better than Schurrle and finding the right spots. The two BAD misses he had in the first half, came from him being in a good spot and ofcourse good passes. Schurrle by all means makes good runs, but he wasn't doing that in the first half as much as he usually does. I think that was why he stayed. Schurrle had nothing. Another thing is, I think it is wise to rest as much players as possible for the upcoming game. I know that the 3 points are crucial, but the difference between Salah's game and Schurrle's is not that big.
-
It is funny you say that. It is true. He plays ok with his right but he doesn't trust it well. You would see him attempting to use the outside of his left foot, more than he goes with his right. That was ever since he was in Egypt. Good eyes mate

He definitely needs work. That is why the moderate Egyptian fans wanted him to join Chelsea and not Liverpool,Spurs or Atletico (rumored). We have a great talent foundation in Egypt at very young ages. But because we lack so much in the professional aspects of football, kids start picking some bad football habits as far as technique is concerned. Under Mourinho, he will develop better and mentally be stronger and more aware. If he had went to pool, I doubt he will develop much. If you noticed in that video, when he tries to pass to Demba and Eto, he usually doesn't try to pass where the player is exactly but a step or a couple ahead of him. He needs to adjust. These passes would work with Oscar, Willian, Schurrle, or Hazard (players with pace), but not with Eto and Ba.

Mohamed Salah's touches vs Swansea
-
Why do many people saw him playing as a pivot? I thought it was too obvious that we changed formation.
-
Well buddy we don't know what he will be like at his peak do we? . Most people recognize his talent. If he is as bad as you think, then I don't think Mourinho will be trusting him with matches. But the fact is the kid is good. He has been getting his form back steadily now. He has the potential to be a world class player for sure. He might achieve, or he might not, that really depends on him aong with other factors. Different players have different development curves. He doesn't have to be a superstar all of a sudden. Give him till next year. It will be his second under Mourinho and you will be able to evaluate him better. With young players you have to be patient, because no one can really tell. It is easy to judge a fully developed mature player, but not a youngster. All in good time.

Yeah I know that Brazil 94's squad was ugly . I liked the 98 squad more to be honest. I thought Mauro Silva was a defender. Anyways, I am not questioning the beauty of the game. As far as I know the Socrates/ Zico squad was the team that played the most beautiful football for Brazil (again I might be mistaken). I was just stating how effective it was.
-
Y You might be correct. As I said I am just speculating. For two consecutive matches now when it was crucial for us to score, he had only 1 defensive midfielder/ pivot. That is how I came to that deduction. But it can be all just a coincidence. I agree Time will show
-
Never under estimate a midfielder man. I remember how Dunga was just KEY in every game of Brazil. True that the partnership of Romario and Bebeto was fabulous. But the role of Dunga was amazing. Rai (if I remember correctly) was also KEY to that team. They helped make that transition of play from offense to defense and vice versa just amazing and effective.

Luiz did a good job too in that position alone against PSG. Couldn't judge well since he played alone in the last 15 mins (if I am not mistaken). But Matic like you said is just fantastic.

I am speculating right now. But if I am not mistaken, Mourinho has demonstrated a glimpse of how our offensive formation might be next year. While we usually play with 4-2-3-1, in the PSG match we switched at the end to 4-1-2-3 and against Swansea to 4-1-3-2. Might be looking at one of those two to be used next year. Maybe if we bring in or develop a player you can play both DM and AM we will be able to execute this within the match depending on how the games go. I liked the look of it today, though definitely the players need to get used to it. But as I said, I am purely speculating.

Looked very nasty man

You know what I would LOOOOVED it if he had scored and given an assist. The kid moved very well and will always have my support. But I want him to improve. There is a lot to improve in his game and he has to keep digging hard till he reaches his full potential. Ba was my man, for shutting me up and teaching me not to underestimate him again.
-
I quiet understand your ambition. I say Amen to that too. But this is Mourinho's first year back, new players, some are really young, and a new system. We might be lacking in certain positions, but we are in the title race, and in the semis of the CL. Southamptin and Everton are not even to be compared with us. They are not in that position. If we were playing one mathc a week like Everton, Liverpool and others, I would guarantee you that our game would have looked much prettier. We don't have the luxury of time and rest.
-
Decent performance today. Was not his best, but that is ok judging on the amount of energy he put a few days ago against PSG. Would have wanted him to rest but the way the game was going really needed him. I hope he gives a the string performance he gave against stoke next week against Sunderland. Great heart.
-
LOOOL. We win, we complain. We lose, we complain. We are out of the title race, we complain. We are back in the title race, we complain. What will it take to enjoy what we have really? Everyone knows that we are not the most mature team and we are in a transitional stage. Everyone knows how young our players are. Everyone knows we don't play the prettiest football out there. Everyone knows how crucial it is to win this game and the next 4. So what is the big deal? We got what we want, the 3 points. Some players should have done better (including Salah), but at the end of the day we win as a team and we loose as a team. Hats off to Jose Mourinho for his tactical adjustments and they look good. Could be one of our good offensive formations if we get used to it and learn to adapt. Brilliant character from Ba. All he had to do is believe in himself and give it his best regardless of what anyone else would thing. Got the winnet at PSG's game and got the winner for a vital 3 points.
-
Good performance from the young kid in his second start. Plenty to improve on. I hope he would have capitalized today with at least two goals. Never the less, good job, good heart, VERY INTELLIGENT moves. I love the fact that he tries to link up with players. I see him only getting better and better. Good passes today which is a new aspect he is bringing to his game. Always go forward young brother. God bless you kid.
-
Total respect for this MAN. Proved that it doesn't matter who likes him or who doesn't, who believes and who has no faith in him. It all didn't matter. All he had to do was believe in himself, give it his best and what happens happens. Such character is what separates men from boys. Got the job done in PSG's game. Got the job done today. I don't care how pretty or ugly it is. Well done again.
