Ivanovic is not a leader.. 
A leader is one who leads by example. How can any of his fellow teammates respect anything he has to say in terms of leading the dressing room when they can all see he's making their lives harder and a shell of his former self. 
Not buying any justification for his extension. None. Can't believe he'll be starting games next season as well.

He's such a "leader" and "personality' in the dressing room that he'll surely start next season as our #1 RB under the new manager. We'll once more have to play with a handicap on the right half of the pitch and opposing sides (even small teams that we're theoretically much better than) will continue to target him week after week.
It honestly appears as though our board listen to supporters' voices and do the exact opposite these days. Sign top players to build upon a title winning side? Nope, we'll sign these shit nobodies and has-beens instead. Our aging CB-shoehorned-in-at-RB who has been getting raped game after game gets a contract extension.

Yeah. He used to be one of the best at what he does, but this season his body can't keep up anymore. When we signed him I never thought he'd become so instrumental for us, so fair play to him, but it's time to move on.

He's my least favourite player now at the club.
He must be stripped of his vice captaincy, be put on the transfer list for the January window and if he's not sold this month then he should be forced to train with the under 21s until he gets booted out in the summer .

See if this is correct this is the outlook that pisses me off with the board. It's quite plain and clear that Ivanovic is struggling, not only struggling but actually is very poor in quite a few aspects of the game. This isn't difficult to see, yet we are potentially wanting to extend a contract and allow him to continue playing. I have said before and will say again...You will not see pure fluency from Chelsea whilkst we continue with a RB at LB and a bloke who struggles to defend, attack and actually be consistent for a good period of time.
Paul Scholes said the same as I have been saying for ages....stop square pegs in round holes, stop shackling attacking players, stop shoe horning players into positions they struggle in and let fluency and rightful players positions happen.
Branislav Ivanovic is a very average player, and that's the problem right now, we have too fucking many. 

Oh fuck off. He should've been sold 2 years ago when PSG wanted him. Utter shite all season and has only deserved to have his pay docked. We are fucked if we'd rather invest in Ivanovic than Lampard or Cole.

Dear oh dear. The board might be even more clueless than initially thought if they are going to give Ivanovic a new contract.
The only way this deal (God forbid it!) is going to be accepted is if Ivanovic's role next season is reduced to a bit-part/squad player role and he is used to provide experience and some sort of leadership (Terry and maybe Mikel aside, there isn't much of that battle hardened, winning mentality, leadership in the squad). We CANNOT have a player who is already over the hill playing week in week out and who is not a right back playing at right back. Otherwise, we will not progress as a team!

Pedro is the kind of player that will fit in well with a successful system, when we start hitting a positive run again thats when we will see the best of him, he would have been brlliant for us last season.
I would imagine he would leave if he was relegated to squad player for an extended period, if he left his boyhood club for that reason I can't see him sticking around here for long if he's a bench player.

He would've had a shot at Top 3 if he maintained his 14/15 form. The fact he finished 8th despite his disastrous 15/16 speaks volumes about just how phenomenal he was last season.
