    That's your opinion.

I stick by mine. Hazard has been useless and only apologists will try and excuse the fact he's been a failure. If Hazard turns it around suddenly, then fair play to him. Doesn't excuse his performances, or lack of. I find it funny when you use statistics to make a point, but neglect the most important one. Goals. Willian, 8. Hazard, 0.

Edit: You're entitled to have your opinion, and I can respect the opinions of other people. But there is no excusing the whole squad for this season. Big players have to stand out and be counted. Hazard has been arguably worse than Matic. That says something.

    Hazard can go, for me.

He quite literally has contributed next to nothing for the team this season. His attitude stinks - summed up by his decision to substitute himself in two matches without even waiting for the expertise of medics and doctors. He shows zero fight and commitment and I would much rather see someone like Pedro, who can be quite enigmatic and offer nothing for much of the game but then suddenly spark into life, play instead of Hazard. He is the most undeserving recipient of the Player of the Year award I can remember, probably since 2009 when Ryan Giggs was given it out of sentiment after one of the worst Premier League seasons of all-time, where not one individual player stood out. Let's be fair, he had several good spells last season, but in terms of consistency, the fact he beat Terry, Azpilicueta and Matic, who were all utterly outstanding from start to finish, to that accolade was an absolute piss-take. Hazard had the opposite season to Costa - he started meekly (which we didn't notice because of the outstanding performances of Cesc, Costa, etc.), and then when players like Diego and Cesc and Oscar lost form after Christmas, because he suddenly turned into our main source of goals, people, for some reason, identified him as the man who fired us to the title. He hasn't had one consistent season for us - in fact, I'd say his debut season was probably his most consistent and you knew you'd get some Robben-esque excitement from him. Now he is a predictable dribble-merchant with little end product and his confidence is absolutely shot. Time to get rid, I think.

If he goes, it'll be for mega money that we can reinvest elsewhere. He has proven to be a worthwhile short-term investment but it has always been clear that Chelsea would be a stepping stone on towards a bigger club, i.e. Real Madrid. Let him go and play for his "idol" and you'll more clearly be able to see exactly where in the world's pegging order he is. He'd struggle to get into that Real side. Who, out of Benzema, Ronaldo and Bale, is he going to displace? I just hope Madrid are stupid enough to offer us Bale or James in exchange, or that we use the money to bring in someone like Griezmann, Reus, or even Yevhen Konoplyanka, who would be a brilliant acquisition.

I'll get a lot of hate for this post, but I can deal with that. It's my opinion. He's been fantastic for three years and I thoroughly appreciate all he did for helping us win the Europa League, League Cup, and Premier League in his time here. But this season has demonstrated to me that he has little interest in playing for this club, and there is no point in keeping a player against his own interests. If he wants to move, then so be it. If he wants to stay, he needs to severely buck his ideas. We play better without him at the minute. That's how poor he's been. People are willing to slag off Ivanovic (who ironically has been a solid 6 or 7 out of 10 in every game he's play since Guus Hiddink came back) despite what he's helped the club achieve (which is a helluva lot more than Hazard has helped contribute towards), yet people give Eden the benefit of the doubt, which is grossly unfair. Past accomplishments shouldn't even come into it. We shouldn't be having to look into bringing back heroes like Drogba to incentivise him to stay. I don't buy the "Hazard struggles under the Mourinho system" bollocks, either. He's given far more freedom on his flank (the reason Azpi plays LB is because he is far better defensively than any other full-back we have or have had since Mourinho's return) than any other player in the squad. You aren't allowed the freedom in the Premier League that Barcelona can offer Messi, Neymar, and Suarez. The freak anomalies of Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs aside, almost every wideman at every big club in England has had to do their defensive responsibilities over the years. The best example I can think of is Freddie Ljungberg, who was an absolute work-horse, as was Pires, as part of Wenger's policy of "defending from the front". You don't see Willian complain about it, do you? Similarly, you don't see a limitation to Willian's attacking play just because he effectively has to play as a right-back. Wide midfield is the most taxing position in the game and if Hazard can't hack the physicality, he needs to reinvent himself either as a number 10 (where he struggles to impose himself on the opposition) or as a second striker, but, as we've seen, his lack of confidence in his shooting abilities makes him far, far, far less effective in the final third than players like Bale or even de Bruyne.

Either he sorts his shit out, or we flog him for £65 million. For me, the second option is the more appealing because I don't think he has the stomach to be a truly world-class player. I'd love for him to prove me wrong, but I've yet to be convinced by the boy, and he's been here for four years now. Conversely, players like Willian have completely won me over despite being here for only half the time. That's because Willian isn't afraid to get his hands dirty when our back's against the ropes. Hazard doesn't have the fight nor the stomach, and that's why he is completely outshone at the highest level (UCL and international) by his team-mates.

Very poor mentally, I am seriously doubting he will ever become a 'great' with this type of attitude. When the team needs him the most he goes fucking hiding, it is all good playing well when the team is playing well but when the team is playing like shit you are the main man, you should step up.

I hope people will see sense and give Willian a break for his performance today. He's basically had to play as a second fullback all game. Could have held on to the ball better but almost impossible for him to have any meaningful impact.

Ancelotti was in a "transition" season. lol
To be honest I don't even know why we are debating this. What Mourinho did in Madrid has nothing to do with his current job.
He failed to win the UCL with Real and Carlo managed to win in his first season in charge. FACTs. Is Carlo better than Mourinho, I don't think so, I will pick the portuguese any day of the week, I also think Simeone did a better job than Ancelotti and is easily the manager of the season.
To other side its just ignorance to downgrade Carlo's conquest just to make Mourinho's years in Madrid better. Just imagine Mourinho winning UCL with us, and someone saying "big deal, not winning anything with this squad and the amount of money he has would be embarrassing". For fuck sake, Ancelotti has 3 fucking UCL trophies, and alongside Paisley, is the most successful manager in Europe ever. FACT.
He won the first UCL trophy for Real in 12 years, and Mourinho was supposed to do that but failed. FACT. The rest, are excuses.
For me it would be better if Mourinho could win a third trophy as Chelsea manager, and we could be discussing his achievements with us, instead of trying to find excuses for his Real Madrid's failure.

Despite all the money we might gain from sales of Mata, Luiz, Hazard etc if they will be sold, and they would be replaced with players that suit Mou more, I think its just short term solution. Roman will at some point say "I want more attractive football" and we will be in the begining.
Luiz, Mata,...have personality. That means a lot if you trust them and give them time; raise them in proper system. They will deliver twice more. Players like Willian follow his manager and when something extraordinary is required to be done by themselves, they freeze. You need hard workers and open minded players in team working together. How to connect them is manager"s job. Mou couldnt do it in Real, I hope he will do it in chelsea.
I tell you if Mou will cut all players who try to attack bit more and replace them with defensive oriented ones; we might see Mou team in best, but that team might win you titles, it wont win fans hearts, speaking generaly. I loved 2012 campaign, it was magical and we defended, fought for evers ball, but that was limited team, we have several offensive players now (and we will get some more).
I love football because it gives you all those goal actions, attractive play etc. I can accept we park bus in most important games of year for the sake of winning title, but general play has to be "nice", attractive and something that makes fans woaahh after fancy moves; collective actions etc. We are Chelsea ffs, not some bottom team with no attacking sense.
It has nothing if I will support Chelsea or not, I will support Chelsea even if we play 10 CBs, but from a team who spends all that money, has all those world class players, I think ambition is to play nice, watchable football.

It's funny how people are so quick to turn on Mourinho, when we win they're positive and upbeat, when we lose they turn on Mourinho, typical. It's alright to criticise a manager but to slate him with such discontent is staggering. Many people on this forum preach longevity but when push comes to shove deep down in their hearts they want instant success, if we don't get it they cry on a public forum and spout their negative bullshit.

LOL... people are now happy that hazard dint track back juanfran which cost us the match and a place in final.
also, jose "deflecting" the blame? what blame? to get us to CL semis? also, i love this statement " certainly more than other top wingers do for their teams."
when u play in a system, u have to do your job like any other guy. does not matter if u r eden hazard, CR, ribery or messi. similarly it does not matter if u r hazard, willian, schurrle or salah, or even our POTY twice in a row JUAN MATA, u play the way the team is set up to play, or u can simply FUCK OFF. this is chelsea fc, not hazard FC where hazard gets treated like a different entity. what do people want us to do? we should forego our system and simply play in a way that suits hazard rather than the team??!!!!! people should really ask themselves if they even support the club if they are actually defending hazard here.

It's not scapegoating. The truth is that Atletico are a better team than us right now, and they're at a different stage in their development. They're peaking, two and a half years into Simeone's tenure whilst we're probably one transfer window away from being a 'Mourinho side'.
That means we can't beat them in a level game, and have to out-manoeuvre them just like we did against Liverpool at the weekend. We won that game because every player did their job. Every player marked their man, tracked the run and was in exactly the right place at almost every time.
What yesterday highlighted is just how much bs Rodgers was spouting when he said it was easy to coach - it isn't. It requires intense focus and no mistakes, and unfortunately Eden dropped a massive clanger. It's unfair to say he cost us the game because there are factors that go back years that contributed to us not winning (signing Torres, not signing midfielders, suspensions etc.) but he was at fault for that goal, and it turned the entire tie on it's head.

You moan when he goes too defensive or cautious, yet when he picks our most potent attacking threat (who actually didn't seem to be too far off match fitness considering his energy in the latter stages of the match) who we also need for the last two league games of the season, you also moan.
Your card is marked son. You're just a miserable person who moans about everything and delights in the team's failure. You're the first to criticise the manager and then the first to moan about our lack of consistency.
You want to know the problem at this club over the last few years....you want to know the cancer that needs excising....it's YOU!

Of course I understand how you think. But it's your (deluded) opinion, so I suppose what I and many others on here tell you to try to convince you otherwise won't have much of an impact. Coutinho and Sterling have the privilege of playing with the two best strikers in the league, which makes a HUGE difference. Who does Oscar have to supply the ball to? Torres. It's a hell of a lot harder to shine when you have a gimp of a centre-forward who has no positional sense and can't finish to save his life. But whatever mate, if you don't think he's good enough, go ahead. Whatever floats your boat.
And FIFA ratings? Get a grip mate

It will be more difficult for Lukaku to score here. Teams against us tend to park the bus (beside the big teams) and his game against parking the bus teams isnt very good. he is at his best when he has space or in a counter-attack. futhermore, our system requieres that the striker also drops back and holds the ball + can give it to his team players. this type of game also isnt really developed from Lukaku.
its okay that belgian people cheer up for their players, but you should take your lukaku glasses of and chill a little bit. if you read about Lukaku from you, you could think he just scored 50 goals a season and is in the frame to be worlds best footballer 2015. the same happened with De Bruyne, where people made him look like the next Messi.
Lukaku is still far away from playing for a top team. if people think its the same to play for Chelsea and West Brom, they are sorry for this term, deluded. And playing for Anderlecht and playing for Chelsea? you really compare the pressure from this teams? The whole world looks upon Chelsea and watches every geam. nobody besides Belgium cares about Anderlecht. Dont compare apples with bananas.
There are a lot of players who play great for smaller clubs but then when they go to a big club, they crumble and cant find their form. Lukaku still has to prove he is good enough for us so people should lay back and wait. We should keep him, no doubt about this, but no way as our 1st choice striker. And Mourinho wont be that mad to do this. As a 2nd striker though, he can stay.
