  1. Yeah I'm with you! If we've sold Zhirkov to Anji and Malouda is our only recognised left-sided winger, then it does make sense. Can we afford both Modric and Mata though??
  2. Well, I guess you could say it was partly down to bad timing, because at the time of Carlo's tenure at Chelsea, he wanted to win things with Milan. Carlo's gone now, and now suddenly Pato's girlfriend is putting a price on him.
  3. It's devil's advocate... yeah I know... but if I'm stating the facts for everyone else to know about I don't really give a fuck
  4. I think Barton is an exceptional player, but there are better players out there in his position... I'd welcome him to Chelsea though without a doubt! I saw in one report he was linked with Zenit St. Petersburg...
  5. Arsenal failing to qualify for Europe! Now that's what I'd love to see!
  6. It wasn't Ancelotti's fault that we had a bad season last time out! It was because Ray Wilkins left the club because Ron Gourlay was far too busy making enemies and disagreeing with everyone. Ancelotti then became a wotsit in a trance and he had no-one to speak with on the touchline, which meant tactics and approaches to games weren't thought out as well... ... that's how I see it, I don't blame the players at all!
  7. Yeah I agree, but we still have City and United to play yet. Arsenal and Liverpool normally battle it out for 4th place right?? :eyebrows:
  8. Valencia told Arsenal they were slapping a £26m price tag on him, and that they didn't expect such a bid from them for the player, so they've said he's staying. I honestly don't see us bidding for him, but strange things have happened in the past.... still a few days to go until the end of the window, would love it if we came in for a cheeky bid for him!
  9. That Red Real Madrid shirt looks really weird! Their black away kit was miles better than that
  10. I think 20 is a really good number for Josh!
  11. Something that we never saw when Ancelotti was in charge! Boas on the other hand wants to build the team himself. The board only make the suggestions.
  12. Yeah, that's if we can keep Rajkovic... if we still can't get a work permit for him, then I see Alex staying for another season.
  13. Definitely agree with you! Stoke is a very hard venue to play at. I remember David Luiz stuttered his good form there after he had played some quality games for us beforehand. I think Tony Pulis has done a really good job there... he buys the right players for every position, and he tells his team to be in the opposition's faces all the time, which leads me to believe that there won't be as many chances for us as people might think. I'd like to see us win 2-0 comfortably, but I won't be suprised if the game is a tight one! I'd still think we will win though! Coventry in 1998 were the last side to beat us on opening day!
  14. If we don't get Modric from Tottenham, I say we play him for a majority of the Premier League games! I think squad number 20 shows that Chelsea desperately want to keep him, and that they want him to mould into the squad. If we do get Modric, McEachran won't get as many games (sadly) but he will be among players like Modric to give him a helping hand in terms of experience!
  15. Really pleased McEachran has the number 20 shirt!! It's a playmaker's number
  16. I think Kalas will benefit from a loan move to the Dutch league! He'll go down the same route as Rajkovic did! Players who have been under contract at us do really well in Holland on loan... Rajkovic of course, and Miroslav Stoch (should have kept him)
  17. Another Chelsea fan from the north! Keep 'em coming! Welcome to the forums dude!
  18. I can only contest that by saying that by after playing in the World Cup, he could be match fit, meaning he could adapt into the squad quicker?
  19. I go by what a majority have said about the fact, that Pato is not really the sort of player we should be signing at the moment. If we do sign him, then Sturridge might as well pack his bags and go back to Bolton for a year. Drogba, Torres, Sturridge, Lukaku... it's a good balance of strikers, with Lukaku as Drogba's immediate successor. I'd love to see us add Pato, but we really don't need him!
  20. Malouda has had some questionable hair styles, and we've never really bothered with them! The funnier the style, the more respect they get, just look at David Luiz
  21. I guess they're probably signing Nasri because they don't want anyone else to sign him!
