It's too bad Bats is with Willian and Musonda right now. Musonda needs to keep the ball.
-
Sterling on the bench interesting. Ampadu Drinkwater CM.
-
Shaw crosses the ball well, I guess, but I would rather have a quicker player with more skill than him. Get our HG players elsewhere.
-
yeah, he didn't need to cut across, I know.
-
I don't think that was the origin of the problem nor the biggest problem on that Watford attack.
-
Same all last season, just getting worse now, which leaves our CM out of gas and/or unable to join attacks
-
Good effort late in the match by Chelsea, but our squad badly needs upgrades and depth.
-
I am now at the 46-47th minute and I just wanna say that 1) this squad simply doesn't have enough in it; the XI on the pitch now are as good as it gets except for having Kante in the middle 2) the deficiencies we've already seen months ago are just becoming greater and greater: not enough quality from CM and from the wingbacks Everyone knows we need some better forwards too. Doucoure is seemingly better than what I imagined months ago.

There's not going to be a cycle anymore that includes a major title with the current Chelsea board. How are we going to keep up with the other big clubs unless they piss away their own opportunities (like Arsenal)?
-
I like Benteke when he's on his game, but Vardy is definite better choice if CFC aren't going for A. Sanchez... or, we might consider grabbing BOTH Vardy and Sanchez right now considering our obvious lack of goalscoring, Morata aside. Too bad we also need better players for CM and someone else for LWB. Too much to ask for January... probably not making top 4 this year.

In some of our eyes, this never about hindsight; it was absolutely moronic when it happened. KDB may never score as many goals as Lampard, but was surely had a good chance to be our most talented goal-producing machine in MF after Frank --with arguably much more dangerous passing and whip on his crosses than Frank ever displayed.
-
I missed that one. Clearly some people on this forum can't see quality, but I don't understand how when you could see passing ability from Kevin that Chelsea lacked and, in fact, a level of passing ability along with accurate shot velocity that most clubs anywhere in the world lack. If you were watching Kevin at Genk in 2010, you would have seen his ability to whip the ball from the left wing and watched him cross better than most players in subsequent months and seasons. Also the vicious shots and fearlessness on the ball. Again (I've posted this previously): as much as the Fernando Torres deal was an awful action in January 2011, Chelsea managed to top that stupid move by dumping KDB without a buyback clause. So, now we can wait to see the dumb move in a single transaction. Can CFC top it?
-
That is a correct statement. We don't have enough goals throughout this squad when you put Morata aside; actually, it's a lack of natural goalscorers, or whatever you call it. Just one of a number of deficiencies with this CFC squad. I don't think we'll make top four; that will require another club truly fucking up their own season or having injuries that give Chelsea a chance to slip into the top four.

Hazard has been at CFC for how long now? What has been built around him from CM and left back to the attackers up top? He's had two or three other players close to his level while playing for us if you exclude Drogba's return, Lampard's final years, and the recent addition of Morata: Diego, Cesc and maybe the cast-off KDB. What else have Chelsea done to add quality to the squad around Eden in 5-6 years? Nothing.
-
agree on January, but lower clubs with superstar players might give in. Gareth Bale for our left back then?
-
If CFC don't spend in January, I really don't see why Hazard stays another season with us. Waste of his time.
-
Nothing will happen this season. The only thing CFC have right now are some good centre backs, a good GK, one top winger, one very good striker and a small centre midfielder who keeps our heads above water.
-
someone wants to poison our squad with this guy?? Fuck NO.
-
Charly should get playing time this season IMO. What the hell does Willian do and Pedro is productive in 1 of 3 matches at best. Batshuayi looks totally unreliable.
-
I fully support moving Alonso into CM and buying another wingback ASAP. I think he could be even more dangerous as a LCM without needing to always run out wide as the outlet (and subsequently not being able to pass a defender with (lack of) speed).
-
The really absurd thing about Bakayoko is that he got a chance and one good season in Monaco, but Chelsea played Ruben Loftus-Cheek out of position and barely at all, then loaned him to the worst side in the Prem. If I were going to pick between the two of them, I know immediately who I would choose because one of them has bags more skill, strengh and speed than most midfielders anywhere. He just needs playing time.
-
Yeah, I agree on Bakayoko since I've now seen him play in a number of matches. Fabregas looks all but done with his speed. He can't do what Pirlo did at age 36 either. And yet, Cesc could still do well in a club with more effective attackers --which we severely lack right now. We are defensively pretty strong, but I would rather Chelsea had some new wingback, midfield and attacking players to give playing time instead of being obsessed over making top 4 again this season. Not looking good in that respect given that we're going to spend this entire season relying on just Hazard and Morata for quality attacking options while our wingbacks offer very little. I don't know what Antonio can do right now. Kenedy should get some more time on the pitch or we better have a new LWB lined up for the January window. Face it, whereas we were AHEAD of everyone in 2004-2005, we're now constantly playing catch-up or lag behind --depending on how you see it. See the difference between what our board did for Jose (2nd time in charge) versus what ManUtd have done with Jose.

I would like to know how you would attack more with this squad. Wasn't going to come from Alonso with a Raheem Sterling counterattack taking on Gary 1v1. Something else then?
