Whether or not something is verifiably part of an interview, the language used, etc. etc., we often do not get the complete context nor body language, tone, etc. of each and every interaction out there. players who've impressed me lately who Chelsea MIGHT consider in the future: Dusan Tadic Yacine Brahimi if any of our attacking midfielders just aren't good enough for Chelsea's ambitions, I think Tadic will be worth a look once he's proven himself a little more in the Prem. This guy can make any pass, take corners, freekicks, he's deceptive... he looks like the complete package without needing to rely upon speed.

getting rid of Torres is the premium in the deal aside from getting a good, young striker from Italy. the thought about paying too much PLUS Torres the other way doesn't even enter the matter at about 20 million. In any case, Chelsea FC and Jose know that it's time to get rid of Torres, Mikel, Moses, Marin so we can move on to better players and just bringing up some our highly-rated youth players or loaned players. Hopefully someone wants Mikel within a couple windows.

If Fernando (CM) is tenacious throughout this season as in the first City match, they are still the favourites for the title. We already know what lineup to expect versus City this season in CM: Yaya, Fernandinho, Fernando. Better hope it's not Jobi in there for us; will get gobbled-up.

to answer your question, "homegrown" does not apply to Scottish players unless, I suppose, they were trained in their youth for a number of years in England--just like any other foreign-born talent. the natural "homegrown" players are only English or Welsh.
