The recent transfer rumours look very favorable to me: a centre back from Napoli, FB from Juve, two CMs, and a striker. Hopefully some of these go through soon. Thankfully, I think we can look forward to not only playing 4231. Hopefully Mikel and Oscar leave too.

City now have two of my favorite players: de Bruyne and Gundo. Fortunately, my interest in football has been fading for the past two years. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36430721

if this were fantasy football, I would probably just... sell: Mikel, Oscar, Costa buy: Lukaku, Aubameyang, Naingolan, Gundogan, Gana/Kante (Aston Villa) a new CB, two new TOP CLASS fullbacks. anyone on the Griezmann party wagon for the past two seasons: how about players like Carrasco or Saul instead? I think Griezmann is definitely below the ability and presence of Aubameyang.

what are you your thoughts on this article about Roman? http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2016/5/28/11804792/ancelotti-we-won-6-0-and-i-was-ordered-to-abramovich-s-house-for-a

It's strange. Nothing happening with CFC so far after a total crap season wrought from 3-4 years of bad transfer windows and a squad thin on quality.
-
Nike and Conte. some good things DID happen at CFC this year. Good luck in a summer window that probably requires too many buys for Chelsea to turn it around suddenly.
-
Kagawa looked just as good (probably better week-after-week), but less people talk about that. Goetze, Mkhitaryan, Kagawa....I don't think any of them do as well in the PL and I would argue that Goetze is the weakest of the three because of his finishing --although TBF, I think Kagawa didn't go to the right club/manager in the PL.
-
F--- this. Stay in Germany.
-
Chelsea aren't a big club. Signing Hummels and Sanchez 2 months before the summer window --before anyone else has moved to rebuild their back line? that's what a BIG CLUB like Bayern do.
-
personally, I am very glad we didn't get Guardiola. More Team Tippy-Tappy is probably the opposite of me enjoying Drogba, Inzaghi, vanNistelrooy, Ibrahimovic, etc. play. I want to see a CF shine in the air and on the ground. Also, I think Bayern were more dangerous with Heynkes as manager. It's true that Mourinho could have done better with a better squad, but, again, I think Jose imposes a very narrow way of playing upon the team, so I'm happy that the Mourinho time came to an end. It's better that we have an Italian now, who hopefully develops flexibility and is brave in the Premier League instead of rationalizing himself into a corner.

" Conte had wanted at least three other additions to Chelsea's technical staff. The appointments of Massimo Carrera and Mauro Sandreani – two training-ground coaches who have proved central to implementing Conte's demanding physical and tactical preparations with Juventus and Italy – have been blocked by the club, with their new manager told that he must work with existing staff instead. go for it.

Wow. I'm happy to see we showed our balls. Glad no one was seriously hurt. More atrocious Costa dribbling, more pathetic CM play from Jon Obi along with some crap defending on the back line. But it was a finally a good result and it's gratifying that we've helped Leicester City win the title. On to next season.
-
Read my other posts on building a good squad from back-to-front. I'm happy to get an italian who will supposedly --in the Italian way-- do this. I don't think we have anything to disagree about unless you just want to be disagreeable.

Don't take this as a wind-up, but: So, you have been watching football for all the great defending (and in the case of Chelsea, slow build-up, poor movement, and lack of accurate passes) then? Somewhere along the way in the Chelsea discussion of playing style, deficiencies, etc., I think some of you have taken to using your cognitive dissonance (enjoying football as a spectator, versus being a dedicated Chelsea fan while Chelsea have played like an overpriced inept attacking side that can't get it done on the attack) and taken "attacking football" to mean something "we are not" and something that is not good for Chelsea or the Premier League. Here in sanityland, where one can enjoy watching all-around football, the attack does not involve just eking out half-chances and watching a 5'8" dribbler dribble into a blind alley alone or relying utterly upon one tall African player to threaten the opposition's end. When I mentioned 'attacking football' it doesn't have the negative associations some of the pundits are happy to use for discussion in their TV segments. It just had to do with adroitness in passing, movement, and creating chances with swiftness and confidence wrought from week-after-week of playing boldly and fearlessly on the attack; it's not about asking John Stones to play forward ground passes out the back or becoming Team Tippy-tappy --nor is it about over-committing to the attack. Things need to change, but they also need to change for a sustained period of time --as opposed to one half-season (first half of 2014/15 season) or just one season (the 2004/05 season). Chelsea need to be able and confident to play in every way a great football side can play -as-needed, with confidence and tradition/experience to back it up. Lastly, depth with youth for the 22ish outfield positions in the squad is fine.
-
Same as PetrCech and Spike above: swift, attacking football and integration of youth. Top four would just be a plus. My expectations for the summer window: quality and depth in all positions BACK-TO-FRONT. Buy dynamic, quick and strong fullbacks if necessary, load up in CM, dump the Oscar and Mikel players an ambitious club doesn't need.

We have to stop spurs winning the league

Thanks to West Bromwich Albion, it's pretty much done. -
Hopefully the Chinese offer still stands or someone is interested. Chelsea need to spend big this summer. This summer window is the one I dreaded: too many needs for one window. The fallout of bad transfer decisions for about 5-6 previous windows.
-
good thing we hired a top Italian manager. I mean, otherwise, we might actually be signing more AMs this summer and sticking with f--k all in midfield and fullback. >>>Board?
-
Sounds like a career sunk by ACL injury so far.
-
the transfer arrangements should get underway as quickly as possible. chelsea need a number of players. Barca delayed getting better fullbacks. I don't think they will delay that anymore. Early business for CMs and FBs would raise our expectations for the next season. Right now, CFC look about 3 transfer windows behind where they need to be. If it weren't for a few youngsters who've showed potential CFC would be about 4 or 5 transfer windows behind where they need to be.
-
Two of the best legs in football for crosses and shots this generation and it wasn't clear to you years ago?
-
hopefully the next match is better. jeez. too bad we don't have much a midfield --nor much of a back line. Good luck, Antonio. This club better fix itself from the top down quickly or forget any dream of building the "global brand"
-
I'm glad there's a hockey game to watch today. jeezus, football is awful.
-
well that was the best choice for Mikel. We'll see how well he defends in the air from CB.
