Gotta say bloody hats off to Southampton! Outplayed and outclassed Liverpool there. Thought Tadic was pretty good, as was Bertrand, Wanyama and Pelle did some good hold up play. How on earth Ward-Prowse didn't get man of the match is beyond me. He was outstanding today and deserved to be on the winning side! Not impressed by Liverpool but I'm sure they'll improve. No goofy prick up front will be a problem for them though. Hero Stevie G is a shell, hilariously.

Interesting bit from Ray Wilkins on Talk Sport tonight about Josh. He mentioned him and Carlo giving him a shot in the first team and remembering how great the first team lads were with him, and were always supremely confident in giving him the ball on the pitch cause they knew he wouldn't lose it. He went on to speak of his sadness at his lack of progression. Both he and Adrian hope that he comes good for the blues but seemed a bit resigned to the fact that he won't ever do so. I remember going to a Chelsea game in the Ancelotti times and Josh came on for the second half, and it was an amazing atmosphere, it was like Josh had thousands of proud parents in the crowd cheering him on with 'go on son', 'come on Josh', ringing around the Bridge. I think that's why I, like a lot of other Chelsea fans hold out hope still for this kid. He is clearly a talent, otherwise a great manager like Carlo wouldn't have picked him. I just think limited opportunities/loans going amiss/lack of drive (probably rightly so at points with the managerial merry-go-round). If I was completely honest I'd say his time has come and gone with the likes of Baker, Loftus-Cheek etc...coming through, but I still bloody well hold out hope he has a successful loan at Vitesse (or wherever) and comes back to the player I saw freshen up our midfield that while ago. Huge responsibility for the lad, no matter whether you believe numbers are important or not, the club and the players do and hopefully this will be a little extra driving force to kick Oscar on to be a lot more consistent. I was getting slightly irritated with him during the end of last season but hopefully that was just burnout. I was far and away more impressed with his performances for Brazil. Although the team themselves didn't cover themselves in glory, he was easily their best. So good luck Oscar, he has many years ahead of him and hopefully his finest form as a blue! Chelsea's new number 8!!
