They don't make it easy for themselves do they? Positives: Matic was sublime today (dat pass to Costa), Oscar was superb and deserved a goal or two. Costa is a fucking beast. LOVE watching him lead the line, so glad he's ours Rui Patricio had a stormer, HATE Nani and that dick who kept chopping down Hazard. Good three points! Woop woop!

Solid first half performance. Hazard looks like he's gliding across the pitch. Oscar with great hustle and Costa looking good. Keep it up lads! Also well in Matic!!!!!

Game day! Awesome! Hoping for a couple of goals from Diego 'the new leader of the Chelsea drug cartel' Costa and an assist from Cesc. Dodgy game this one, a potential banana skin but I think we will win it. I'm always reminded when we play Villa of one of my favourite defensive performances while watching them at the bridge, a chap called Branislav Ivanovic was given the nod to play centre half against (at the time a pretty damn good villa attack). He was insanely good and I've loved the guy ever since. He probably still has John Carew in his back pocket. COME ON YOU BLUES!!

We're through so thats good. Made hard work of it though through missed opportunities and poor decision making in the final third. Wouldn't have minded seeing Baker get a run out but I'm delighted for the likes of Zouma for the goal (happy happy) and Ake who was excellent and very assured in the middle. On we go!

Fantastic game imo. Defensively he was very responsible and was the only one to go to attacking players if they ran at our defence. The crossing was fantastic too. Well worth the wait to see

Huge game. Hopefully we defend a LOT better. I'd play: Courtois Ivanovic Terry Cahill Luis Matic Ramires Hazard Fabregas Willian Costa - Picked Willian due to his work rate, Fabregas higher up due to his ability to unlock defences but also due to him being caught out of position if he played deeper. Could also switch to 4-3-3 if need be.

Was excellent when he finally got on. Didn't realise how well he could do out wide as a support striker. Good on ya buddy, hopefully tonight a lesson has been learned. Drogba on for last 20, never ever Remy. He has too much to offer.

3rd choice striker, shouldn't be starting games. Starting him in these sorts of games will ruin his legacy quicker than anything, you need to be smart and use him at the right times. Sadly he isn't the player he was but we all knew that and so did Jose, surely. Head scratching all round that he started and even more for not coming off sooner. Mourinho needs to be ruthless as he has been in the past, when a player is playing that badly, regardless of their club status, they have to come off.
