Hazard and Drogba have urged Fabregas in the past to be the next Chelsea manager. Hopefully they can be the tipping point. While they might not be fans of the current regime., they do care about fans of the club. Imagine if he brings back one or two of the old boys to join him in his backroom staff. Mood would instantly lift around the place.

The cleverly optioned Athletic poll were Chelsea fans voted for Cesc as favorite next option for manager wouldnt have gone unnoticed by the ownership. We know this group does scour through social media to gather sentiment. Maybe this time they will follow through for once.

Im sure they will mess up and give it time we'll be in this mess yet again...
-
That's what they've been saying since Potter. Same old shit. They've all got to go, had their chance and blown it (repeatedly). I don't mind giving a guy that has fucked up a second chance, but when they've bottled their 2nd, 3rd and 4th chance you've gone way past the moment where it is beyond question they should be moved on and we are easily there with the sporting directors now.

Marco Silva seems like he'd be the absolute last resort appointment if everyone we would truly want rejects us. The owners would spin it as a big positive thing because he has been fairly successful in the PL already for many years. One of the briefings they have put out there numerous times now is that they know “they can’t mess up again this time” with this next appointment. They’ll really want someone to appease the supporters who are rightly super angry at them. If they go out and appoint Marco Silva there will be a huge negative reaction. And if we were to then have a poor start to next season with him in charge there will be a toxic atmosphere once again just like there is now.

Even if Alonso rejects us and Iraola chooses Palace, I doubt we'd actually hire Marco Silva even though he's the other name on the shortlist. The last resort might be Filipe Luis since the board likes him.
-
Cesc is definitely interested. A big round of interviews with Matt Law, Rory Jennings in the week the Chelsea job becomes available talking about his work at Como, future. Como President saying they wouldn't stand in his way. All this is adding up to me as Cesc is interested. Of course, he is looking to get a fair amount of control if he's gonna join.
-
This is exactly what will likely happen and after we will hear how they always wanted Silva first and believe in his tactics and how he is perfect. Rise and repeat with these losers.
-
If we get embarrassed by both Iraola and Alonso I feel like we’d try to save face by going all out for Cesc despite him not really wanting to leave Como yet. Probably make him an offer he couldn’t really refuse.

Watch us lose him to Palace whilst we keep thinking Alonso will agree to come... and then last minute: BREAKING NEWS....SILVA JOINS Chelsea from Fulham

No leadership or experience in the dressing room. That's the issue. If Tosin, Sanchez, Cucu are your most experienced, its pretty obvious why these players decide to turn up when they feel like it. Maresca kept them in check and earnt their respect through that conference league and CWC run. The last time we won the league, this was our core group: Courtois - Azpi - Cahill - Luiz - Moses - Alonso - Kante - Matic - Hazard - Costa. Compare that to today's group, we have no GK, no proper CB other than Colwill and our attack definitely lacks the quality of Hazard & Costa.

Better team or not we lack any bite to even challenge or beat these team anymore. Like on TalkSport during the week, a pundit said we are just a bunch of petulant babies who turn up when it suits us. Couldn't be more correct, and thee biggest thing of all we are watching the biggest downfall of this club for years and years, How has it got the point of us watching Callum McFarlane in charge of Chelsea FC? How is got to a point that people have stopped watching and going to games? Honestly man, i am so embarrassed by this club and it's owners

we were the better team and should have won this, but it’s the story of our season.

I want Andoni over all the named candidates we have been linked with

Only chance to sign such talents is by hiring Alonso who has that aura and legend status behind him otherwise zilch.

Man United and Chelsea lock horns in race for Karim Coulibaly, Germany's next defensive wall https://www.caughtoffside.com/2026/05/08/just-in-man-united-Chelsea-germanys-defensive-wall/?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email Werder Bremen’s teenage sensation Karim Coulibaly is emerging as one of the continent’s most coveted defensive targets. Premier League clubs are expected to have a busy summer transfer window and defensive additions are high on their agenda. According to reports from Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira, Premier League heavyweights Manchester United and Chelsea have heavily scouted the 18-year-old center-back, both identifying him as a foundational piece for their respective long-term defensive rebuilds. With a host of elite clubs now circling, Coulibaly’s rapid rise from academy prospect to Bundesliga regular is turning heads across Europe. Karim Coulibaly has been sensational this season Coulibaly’s rise this season has been nothing short of spectacular. Earning 23 starts for Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga, the 18-year-old has transitioned comfortably to top flight football. Rather than looking out of his depth, the teenager has displayed the composure and tactical intelligence of a seasoned veteran. His dominant club form was rightfully rewarded on the international stage this past March. Coulibaly was fast-tracked into the Germany Under-21 squad, making a highly impressive debut during a comprehensive 3-0 European Championship qualifying victory against Northern Ireland. For Man United and Chelsea, the intense interest in Coulibaly is rooted in his incredibly rare and highly sought-after profile. Standing at an imposing 1.91m (6 ft 3 in), he possesses the physical dominance required to handle the brutal aerial demands of the Premier League. More importantly, he is a natural left-footed, ball-playing center-back. Chelsea view him as an ideal anchor to solidify their long-term project at Stamford Bridge, while United, who are heavily rumoured to be revamping their entire defensive structure, see him as a generational talent capable of locking down the left side of their defense for the next decade. With his valuation already rumored to be hovering around the €40 million to €50 million (£35m-£45m) mark, a fierce, high-stakes bidding war is expected to take place this summer.

Its Anfield, we were never getting a penalty over there, similar to Old Trafford. 😆

Well...two serious games left in our season First the cup final vs City, then the London Derby with Spurs If we can win both games, that'd be a nice finish to the season!

You really can’t deny what a job Iraola is doing at Bournemouth considering the players he lost before the season. And it isn’t just a purple patch or a single massively overachieving season. He has now done extremely well in the best league multiple times. If I were Man United and was being ruthless by leaving sentiment out of the decision with Carrick, he would be the perfect manager for them. In a vacuum he’d probably be a great hire for us but the idea of some of our top players sprinting and running constantly like he demands makes it feel like a risky proposition. And we also know how injury prone so many of our guys are on top of that. I suppose a big factor with whoever we appoint is whether we’re even in Europe or not. If we aren’t and can focus primarily on 1 competition where the new coach gets lots of time on the training pitch then perhaps an Iraola can work.

They won’t start with him if Jose in charge IMO and Enzo does go there.
-
If they don’t want to be here, and there will be a collection of them that feel like that no doubt/want to play CL football, the club cannot afford to keep a lot of them though. It would be detrimental for whatever unlucky bastard comes in next and has to try turn this shitheap project around. - Palmer cost £45m, don’t hold your breath and think they are going to demand a £150m fee for him with no room for negotiations. - Cucurella will 100% be sold due to his age, wages & duration left on his contract - there is no benefit to BlueCo keeping him unless he agrees to drop his wages (which why should he?). -Enzo I see where your coming from but Madrid will come in for him, do their usual and somehow before we know it he won’t want to go anywhere else or remain here.

Showed some fight for a change. We were the better side today should’ve won
