Well you can’t have it all? Surely better than the alternative really, him sitting for another 6 months at least, perhaps 18, on full pay when he’s not involved. Particularly given everyone’s obsession with the financial success of this club as opposed to sporting success 😂 It would be a lot easier & (probably) cheaper if they tried to negotiate a deal to terminate his contract. What is the big deal with trying to negotiate say a £12-14m settlement to terminate his deal early? Surely better than him sitting for another 18 months on full pay? Reportedly he is still due around £22m of his contract. Nobody is going to pay him the wage he’s on here & location seems to be priority for him given he has reportedly knocked back Saudi clubs with obscene amounts of money on offer. The London clubs that would sign him are not going to pay us a decent fee & him big wages. Something has to give. The fact he hasn’t played any meaningful football for us since Pochettino also sort of limits what we can ask for him financially.

I really don’t buy the rumors of managers rejecting the job. It really does look like the club had the wheels set in motion after those two bizarre pressers about Maresca talking the worst 48 hours after a win.

If current Wolves who are possibly one of the worst sides in PL history suddenly appointed Rosenoir I think even their fans would probably be angry and saying he’s not good enough for them. And yet Chelsea Football Club is going to hand him the keys. A guy with the type of CV that would attract clubs from the Championship or dregs of the PL as a long shot punt in hopes that he could be good. One of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world is going to install someone woefully unqualified after just sacking a guy who himself was unqualified and didn’t work in the end. Madness.

One thing I will add: the club didn't want to make a mid-season change but the position became untenable. This has also impacted who they have considered because managers even less frequently want to change jobs mid-season. (@Rob)

🗯💥Rosenior was certainly not my preferred choice either, but anyone who thinks that Chelsea will still be looking for big-name coaches and players at the end of 2022 is still living in the Abra era! That won't be the case for a few years now. At least Rosenior is playing with proper full-backs who aren't inverted and is focusing on width and wing play. Every player plays where he is best, and he is tactically flexible, which Maresca was not.

Owners aren't on the same hymn sheet as fans As long as they are able to sell youngsters for a healthy profit, they dont care much about the overall results. They are a business, and have their plan for financial success
