  1. Past hour
  2. How long does it take to learn that the best teams build from the back ?? 2004/5 onwards the building blocks were the Keeper and defence. Arsenal, albeit being as boring as fuck as per usual, have conceded 3 goals so far this term As old Red face Ferguson once said -''attackers win you games, the defence wins you Championships''
  3. But this happens quite a lot! Especially teams on a bad run then theres always comments of 'oo they turned up against us' when usually its more we didn't turn up. At all! And just expected it to be easy based on their form so stroll around and then make stupid mistakes Spurs..also above us!!
  4. Today
  5. Fabregas has the looks of a potentially very good coach in the making but I think he would be wise to go slow. He was linked with Leipzig and Milan in the summer. He should look at Xavi Alonso, he had managed nearly 250 games at Sociedad‘s B team and Bayer Leverkusen before getting the job at Real Madrid. Como could be that first step for Cesc but I still think he would likely need another before landing a big job. But Como also showing ambition and may continue to do so, plus hes invested in the club. Plenty clubs in Spain who would probably appeal to him. He may be a Barca man but any of the likes of a Seville, Villarreal, Valencia, Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad could be a good platform for him. And do very well, a springboard for the Barcelona job? Although the way we are going, we are looking like we will soon be at that sort of not elite elite level club for the foreseeable so maybe he could come here and use us as a springboard 😂 Lampard seems to have finally found his level. Championship manager. If Derby (past) or Coventry (present) made/make it to the PL with him, they’ll struggle to stay in the league. Don’t think he has enough about him to make his teams hard to beat.
  6. Yep you’d think after the past few windows they would have seen the same glaring issues that have plagued us for years and tried to rectify them with quality additions. They haven’t. Instead they’re doubling down.
  7. Fabregas managing here would be something. Should take his time though, just like Lampard is doing now.
  8. Another source of info to corroborate, looks like. Laughable that after all the gamesmanship of waiting nearly 3 years for 'the right sponsor' ends up with them retreating with their tails behind their legs. To once again quote Eghbali for his astute observation: "Chelsea were quite frankly an asset not terribly well managed on the football, sporting or promotional side" Well done to Eghbali & co. in making it more 'well managed.'
  9. How do you guys have any enthusiasm towards this topic is beyond me. What’s the point in even thinking this club will do the right thing in any transfer market going forward? Zero chance.
  10. I think the opposite and don’t think the fan base realise quite how much trouble we could be in this season if we approach games like we did against Sunderland. Keep turning up with a half assed attitude to games and we could be in the bottom half of the table pretty soon. Spurs better not take the piss out of us.
  11. we would have to be mad as ass to sign the 34yo-in-April, massively injured the past 3 seasons Marc-André ter Stegen, especially given his insane salary Contract expires: 30/06/2028
  12. Chelsea finally ready to agree £45 million deal, far less than what has been floated for years https://theprideoflondon.com/Chelsea-finally-ready-to-agree-45-million-deal snip As reported by Football Insider, Chelsea’s front-of-shirt sponsorship is likely to be worth around £45 million. Talks are “very advanced” and a decision is expected in the “near term”. Well, that is significantly lower than the £60 million figure that had been doing the rounds of the media for so long. In fact, it is not much higher than the £40 million-per-year deal that the club had agreed with Yokohama Tyres back in 2015, more than a decade ago. While other clubs have been successful in agreeing significantly bigger deals since then, Chelsea seem stuck in one spot. And that means falling behind the rest of the pack. Also, one has to question whether extending this sponsorship deal search for so long was even worth it if the best deal the Blues could get was in the region they were always expected to be in the first place. btw That £40m per annum deal cut in 2015 is close to £57m per annum in late 2025 pounds pounds sterling when adjusted for inflation
  13. Dayot Upamecano turns 28yo in exactly 1 year and is demanding a minimum of around £270K PW for 5 years (around £70m in toto) plus a huge signing fee that is a MASSIVE NO for me I do not rate him all that much, let alone at what might be £90-100m in just salary and signing bonus plus the only Big 5 league he has played in will be the pinball Bundesliga (for 9 and a half years come next summer) danger danger
  14. around £210-230m (fees only ffs, and depending on how much in add-ons we have to pay for Muddy) or so on 4 likely shit (or proven shit) LWers Mudryk Sterling Gittens Garnacho grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr 🤬
  15. Could have saved the wages of both Fofana and Tosin for the wages of one good, non-injury prone CB. Idiots in the management team won't realize the benefit in doing that.
  16. Yesterday
  17. Painful to say it, but their recruitment team prioritized heavily on upping the quality of their defensive resources, while ours sat back and brought in injury prone CBs as well as freebies like Tosin. Oh and wasted a 100m on average wingers.
  18. and, for the 3rd consecutive time that I have watched a full Strasbourg game, they have blown a lead and lost in injury time ffs they could have went clear 2nd in the table
  19. Lyon's Malick Fofana (a main target for LW for us) has perhaps been knocked out for the season by one of BlueCo Strasbourg's CB's, Ismaël Doukouré, via a straight red horror tackle just now
  20. To be taken with a grain of salt, but if true, apparently we are finally going to accept a sponsorship bid in the range of 40-45m. So does that mean all the 3 years of holding out for a 60m bid were wasted?
  21. Tbf we wouldn’t be so open in midfield if Enzo Fernandez would actually run back and tackle also. World Cup Winning midfielder yet an absolute passenger when teams take the ball of us. But yes experience would help everyone for sure. But when Kante and Jorginho were here folk were desperate to get rid of them, apparently Kante wasn’t ever going to be fit enough to play to justify a wage & Jorginho wasn’t good enough (yet went to a title competitor and ended up playing as a #6 instead of £100m Declan Rice, who was initially signed and used by Arteta as a 6). If we go into January/next summer and don’t prioritise some experience in key positions, will be same again and again. And the usuals will keep buying what these charlatans are selling because they’ll buy 3 or 4 up and coming attackers instead of hitting the nail on the head and solving problems that have been ongoing for 3 plus seasons now. I mean if people are thinking these owners and sporting directors have real ambition to win the biggest titles, after the past 4 windows, they are delusional. It has been noted that we have needed a top GK, a top CB, a top CF/attacker for fuck knows how long. Even the manager said about a CB in the summer… the manager. Yet what did they do, £100m on 2 wide players…. Donnarumma & Guehi would of cost less than that.
  22. correct so many here, for ages, seem to not undertstand the difference between right wingers and left wingers
  23. Where is this we're not gonna qualify for CL coming from? Not worried about that. Do you see 5 teams in the league better than us? We also changed team completely so we did start from zero. Whatever happened before it's irrelevant. And that also needed to be done either way. How many players from 2021 or 2022 squad would you like still to be here? Maybe Rudiger and Pulisic at best. In first season we tried with experienced players like Koulibaly, Auba, Sterling and how that ended? At that point they didn't know what they were doing but now there's is a plan and excitement for the future. Also, do people need to be reminded that we were nowhere near fighting for PL title last 5 seasons under Roman? Madueke has nothing to do with Gittens who is a replacement for Sancho. And lastly, we are fucking World Champions!
  24. Peter Schmeichel "massive regrets" on leaving Man Utd after 1999 season 🔴 | Kickin' It | CBS Sports a really good interview well worth the time
  25. yes I already accept our faith. We will become a top8 team and no one will care about us. I think we will need to wait several years to challenge again for the title and Idk if in our time lives we will see Chelsea champion again
  26. Cool. And in your fairy tale, do our rivals stand still?
  27. We have to be realistic and differentiate between the current custodians, people who administer Chelsea FC as just another asset that they can make personal profit from, and the previous custodian who made winning silverware and titles as the No 1 priority. Thats the reality and we need to accept it
