Interesting take to defend his stay here with a financial reason, when those same reasons can be used to say why he shouldn't be here. Transfer fee & wages cannot be recouped by shirt sales. He's not Ronaldo, Beckham etc because his game's fallen off. You can only defend such costs of a player when he continues to be at the top of his game. You can't call him a 'poster boy' if he's not actually on the pitch.

I wouldn't be so harsh as to compare him to Bogarde, because it's not like anyone's actually coming in for Torres. If they have then it clearly hasn't been a good enough offer. Before anyone suggests 'just let him go for free' that also wouldn't make any financial sense either.

Double-edge sword using finances to defend/persecute Torres.

I'm trying to find a reason to accept any Chelsea fan who defends Torres as an asset to this club.Wether it be financially or in terms of football there is no excuse to defend the heap of shit thst is Fernando Torres.

The best thing for Torres is if we offer him to Atletico, pay him a sell on fee like 2 million to cover for his wage cut because other than that he will not be willing to leave CFC, its best for both of us if we parted ways, but he doesnt have anything to play for in his life, his won almost everything, wont ever get close to the amount of money he is getting from us anywhere but China. His now 30 years his family is settled so there is really no reason for him to force a move

Like Barca did with Villa, Bayern did with Gomez. Its the only way to go unless Inter wants him to buy him.
