Frank Lampard

His legacy.. his status.. is bigger than the board, the 'suits' come and go.. it doesn't matter what are 'curent' setup did or didn't offer him, Chelsea is bigger than that, it's a concept!

He did actually, in promotional and marketing material, alongside JT. Commercialism aside, he always spoke and alluded to having an affinity with the club.

Kalou was used in promotional and marketing material also. The same Kalou that you used in one of your earlier arguments.

Jamie Redknapp, who knows a lot more about Lampard than the rest of us, said Lampard would have been happy to score against us. And personally I don't think he was as upset as he made out - nothing a look at his bank account wouldn't fix anyway.

The cold reality is that (most!) preppy private school types have a certain mentality drilled into them at an early age. I'm sure he had a good joke with the Bleakley about the whole affair last night and spent that arab money..

Not quite as loud as this though:

He barely even acknowledged the City fans. He refers to them as "the club" or "City", not as "we" or "us".

His exact quote -

‘City deserved a draw, when they went down to 10 men they pushed on.’ Definitely not one of them.

Here we go again, the very, very few calling Frank 'Judas' and the likes are now absolutely everyone who isn't backing Lampard 110%.

Some of you seriously need to get out more and grow up. Its football guys. Just football.

Dont you have anything in your lives to worry about more than Frank Lampard? Christ.

I usually like the majority of your posts man, but Christ if this isn't a good advertisement for the forum; a mod complaining about it's football fan members airing their opinions on a football forum about Lampard...in the Lampard thread no less, the cheek! Christ is right.

Oh and as a side note to my previous post:

Its no surprise to see the difference in reception he got from the fans at the game compared to the guys on here, who (lets be honest) barely go to any. I'm so fucking glad its them supporting the boys week in, week out and not some of you lot.

Oh, how very TOPTB of you...

Jesus fucking Christ, abandon thread. Abandon forum. Abandon all logic. Because no one is allowed to be disappointed in a legend's actions without being insinuated as a Judas themselves.

So do players.

You don't understand what I'm referring to, in the media, in Chelsea corporate activities he was heralded in a certain special way.

You don't KNOW any of this, this your crazy theories and speculation.

Is he supposed to alienate himself from everyone and everything?

I'm not complaining about people airing their opinions. I'm saying that if you're getting this upset about Lampard scoring against us, you (Term in particular), in my opinion, probably take football a little too seriously.

So you'd have rather the 3000 Chelsea fans ignored or worse, booed, Frank yesterday? As I'm sure a great deal of members in this thread would of done. As I said, I'd much rather the constant 3000 who follow our team every week are there supporting the team rather than some of the guys on here.

Frank got exactly what he wanted yesterday. The headlines.

We are all still talking about it. The newspapers and news are still talking about it.

All day on the news and in the papers "Lampard screws Chelsea blah blah..."

Jose was clearly upset and the look on JT's face when that goal went in, said it all.

Why are going back over and over this he wasn't required, Jose himself said he offered Frank a contract, yes maybe less money but that is when Frank the individual left Chelsea behind and chose City, Ashley Cole was offered other English clubs but even he picked Roma out of respect.

His sky interview standing next to Milner was very different to his Chelsea one.

Refusing to sign that contract as long as the clause is part of it, refusing to play and even threatening Pellegrini to score an own goal if he used him vs Chelsea, and sitting down on the pitch after being subbed on vs Chelsea is bleeding blue.

Yes, Lampard is a top professional but we shall forget never that day he betrayed the Chelsea family, 21.09.2014.

He still bleeds royal blue regardless of what happened yesterday, I mean you can't forget the 13 years at Chelsea, you can't forget the trophies you can't forget the 211 goals which make him top-goalscorer at this club. All these things aren't equivalent to the two points he cost us yesterday. He did join City, which made no single Chelsea fan happy, but in the end it's only a warm-up for his last chapter of his career in New York. After that he will look to get a manager license to get to his club which made him the player he is/was and vice-versa. And sorry but the part with 'refusing to play against us in sitting down on the pitch' is just ridiculous. No player would do that, no matter how much he loves the club.

He has a fantastic history at Chelsea, but he was an employee of the club, bottom line. His services were no longer required, and another employer acquired his services. Get over the jilted manlove.

Its a money driven sport, forget all the badge kissing, 99% of it is bollocks

That's why this is so disappointing, apparently Chelsea was only a job for him.

There is no justification in hating on our greatest ever player. 11 years cannot be forgotten in 5 seconds.

His reactions after scoring the goal showed how much of a true blue he is. Our own legend. Appreciate the travelling support for chanting his name after the game

Yup thats one point of view, and I subscribe to it.

However, theres no prescriptive point of view that has to be taken on it. Sometimes its good to stand back a bit, and see top flight football for what it is- a big business corporate profit whore fest, instead of trying to compete with other fans over who wears the biggest heart on their sleeve.
