So we have Mata, Moses, Shurlle, Hazard, Oscar, De Buyne and possibly Willian competing for attacking midfeilder roles?

If we lose Moses there is still six players competing for about three positions, while still needing a DMC and a SC. Wtf?

Ultimately, regarding Mata; the board itself and Abramovich himself - they like Mata, yes? And if you're liked by the people who control the manager to a big extent you're in good hands at the club. I doubt the board which scouted & negotiated for him along with the owner who's seen him bring rejuvenation he sought so long will want to let him go - especially to a direct rival - especially when you consider we have the deepest pockets in the league alongside Man City.

Mourinho hasn't manipulated the media and played mind tricks on Manchester United for nothing. He wants us to be at a psychological advantage. That advantage would be completely lost if Mata joined United. He'd also lose the man with the most experience with the style of play Roman wants in this era. A fan favourite. A great player.

Mata can't join United.

If this is true , I really don't like it.

7 players (ranging from very good to world class) for three positions is just not possible. The only way to make this work is offload one of them. Moses seems most logical, but that would solve little since he is already way down on the pecking order and would hardly start anyway. So it would mean selling/loaning out KDB, Mata, or Schurrle (oscar and hazard seem untouchable), all who where made promises of playing time or not being sold. This could seriously unbalance the dressing room imo. And for what? Just so that Roman can prove to Levy he has the bigger ****? At 30 milllion? While there are other places in the team that need some serious strengthening? Don't like it

bale was a lb. Rooney was a striker who has flourished in a deeper role, the list is endless of players moving positions but still producing. It's not completely silly that players who are very good footballers can adapt to different positions under different managers.

Willian played left side against us for Shaktar and was ghosting all over the pitch that night, centre, right and left it didn't matter because players of that quality can do it. Whilst he maybe set to those positions don't rub out and erase positions just because he may not of played in it, top players can adapt especially under the guidance of Jose.

Thats crazy, Bale was a left back. Its really difficult to remember that right now.
