How Are You Feeling?

Ugh!! Crappy morning! I have managed to make my sister angry at me for picking on her (she is a pseudoManU fan) and she she took it all too seriously and to much to heart. Ah well she'll probably stop talking to me, but that will not really change anything other than the random post on Facebook (one ever three months) because she does not email or call me at all and hasn't since I moved to China almost two years ago! Of course, not that I have ever said anything to her about that or how it made me feel!

Ok vent over :)

Thats sad to hear

Thats sad to hear

Thanks :) I have apologized but knowing her it will be years for her to get over it, last time she got mad at me it took 2 years and the loss of two of ours sisters for her to speak to me again. So I really don't hold out hope that this will get better soon.

Wow. People should take things more lightly. Sisters not talking to each other because of team rivalry is so silly IMHO, what's happening with people?

Feel good, met Ron "Chopper" Harris yesterday in Ewell, he was awesome and so up front. Just like a normal bloke you can go up to him, chat to him, he'll talk to you etc. It was like a special guest event, won a raffle of a signed photo of the 4 Chelsea legendary captains together, taken at our final game of the 08/09 season. Terry, Harris, Bentley, Wise. Got it signed by Ron himself. If i can somehow get it signed by Wise, Bentley and JT, it would be awesome. There was also a great comedian with him, can't remember his name, Mike something. It's great to meet legends of this great club.

"People say JT is like me, but John never fucked the Chairman's wife" Classic lmao.

Lots of great stories and quotes, i bet the older generation really miss those days.

I'm sorry to hear that but you shouldn't feel guilty, from the way you described it the issue is clearly deeper than a football match. May I suggest you talk to her honestly? Not about the match, but about the lack of communication between you two. Hope everything works out between you :)

It does go much deeper and I have tried many times to talk to her. I did the right thing I apologized to her, I erased the post she was embarrassed by, I made a cake of myself and apologized to her on Facebook (still told her I thought her taste in English clubs was appalling) and I repeatedly told her that she needed to remember that I love her. She never said she accepted my apology but did send me a note that said she loved me too. For her that is a big step and as good as I am probably going to get. She will not ever admit she is in the wrong or that she has treated me poorly. I have known for years that there is more going on with her than she is willing to admit but since she will not share with the family there is not a lot we can do to help her.

Thanks for all the support :) it helped

@Skipper, I won't. I will give her time to cool off but I never give up. Having lost two sisters to a car accident 11 years ago, I know all to well how precious the 3 I have left are! :)

On to happier news, if I am not around for the next week or so it is because my daughter is headed to Brunei for her FOBISSEA U-13 tournament. The team will compete in athletics, football, basketball, and swimming. MacKenzie is competing in all but swimming. She is the number 1 goalkeeper for her team!! B) But also plays left mid! She plays a point guard in basketball and in athletics is scheduled to do the triple jump and will run the 800 and 1600m!! I am a wee bit nervous for her! I will be posting updates on Facebook I am sure and if I can I will post here too. If not I will fill you in when we get back next Wednesday! :) Go BISS Lions!! :blue scalf:

Thanks, Ron :) She hasn't said much in the last week or so, but that isn't unusual and I haven't been home. I have been in Brunei with MacKenzie for her tournament! They played really well and placed second overall in swimming but not only 4th in basketball, 5th in football and I am not sure where in athletics. MacKenzie placed 5th in the triple jump. I am absolutely exhausted after being at the events from 8am -5pm each day (when the girls weren't playing I went to watch the boys play). Evenings in the hotel were quiet dull as there wasn't even a pool bar since alcohol is prohibited in Brunei!

Tomorrow I will be up at at 6 to watch her volleyball tournament.

I am just so angry and sad at the moment. The young man in the article above was a student of mine when I taught in the US and he was a very nice young man. Aaron always had a smile on his face, he was helpful, and funny. He was one of those kids that was a joy to have in the classroom.

I am just absolutely heartbroken. This just so damn unfair and wrong. I pray they catch the guy that did this senseless act of violence.

It is so sad to see nice people departing too early. My mom used to teach at university and just today she was telling me how sad she was because she found out one of her students died in a car accident. I can't really know but I think every teacher who really takes his job seriously dreams of watching his students fulfilling their dreams and having success in their lives and it probably hits them hard when things like these happen. And I bet it is even worse when they're murdered like that.

A person I know just recently had a friend that was murdered while trying to save a woman from being raped. She died later on in hospital.

I thought I'd share it.

It hits me hard every time something happens to one of my students, current or former. They are in a way still my kids even after they graduate and move on. I still check on them and like hearing about their lives, so when something bad happens it hits makes me sad too. This hits me twice as hard to because I know most of his friends and I know they are hurting too. So senseless.

Thanks for the kind words.

@Full, how very sad. A tragedy in so many ways. I hope they find the people responsible.
