Luiz, for me, is the far far better signing, OK Torres is a superb Striker on his prime but like we've often said, he is pretty injury prone, Luiz on the other hand did cost the half of him (25 Mio.) and is the most exciting defender prospect, may be in the whole world, if we could get ou're hands on Mats Hummels from Dotrmung we would've a wonderful CB-Pair for the future, very much like Terry and Riccy when they played together.

It has gone a bit under, after we've signed torres, but this delights me because we can see ivanovic moveing back on RB now, whilst luiz plays with terry and on the left side we've ash a wonderfull thinking... may be ash is a bit overplayed but with bertrand back, haveing played 140 Games of 1st Team football and the far better LB than PvA, another step in the right direction, I think this will be our feature backfour

Bane--------Luiz----Bruma(may be Hummels? )----Bertrand

absolutly delighted...

Two days ago I was so angry toward Gourlay, I thought he was the biggest incompetent cunt in the english football.... But i gotta admit, yesterday he showed me wrong, and in a beautiful way ! He has made a great deal there !

Though, I still am a bit bitter toward him, about Wilkins

I have yet to see David Luiz play.

I think it will take him a while to adjust. (I remember when Vidic and Evra signed for Man Utd they were shit when they first came, both got roasted in the 3-1 loss to Man City)

I give him a while to get used to it, but I suppose whilst Alex is out he will slot into his spot with Ivanovic moving to Right Back.

Definitely looking forwards to seeing him play though :)

Great signing for the future..can contribute this year but not expecting too much from him until next season..although we got good depth at the LB position he could play there too..perhaps also in the future we could play with a back three of from right to left Ivanovic, Alex ,Luiz with attacking wing backs.

he gives us good options at the back anyway and i see us getting back to having the best defense in England again now thanks to us signing him..

Well, I'm putting an early request in to my wife for my b-day present, David Luiz jersey in Blue thank you very much. I hope he sticks with 23 to represent his Benfica ties, but if he gets 4 I'll be glad too. Either way, wrap it up with a big bow on it!!!!!

He's still a chelsea player, and the number isn't vacant.

Luiz is number 4 for Brazil, i don't see why he'd turn down a first team number anyway.

Sturridge hasn't been sold, he's on loan. %28Y%29.gif

Didn't want to imply "hey sturridge, when you come back from loan you don't have a number". I was just thinking if Sturridge didn't have any special feelings for the number he may vacate it and grab another. I don't know how often that happens in Europe but in North American team sports it happens quite often when a new player comes in that he's given his normal number and the current user takes another but only if the current user suggests it.
