Josh McEachran

Josh was a regular last season compared to his game time in the current season. I refuse to believe he isn't ready to even play 30 min against Wigan.

It's fair, and maybe it sounds like I'm making any excuses I can.. But Carlo and André are different, I still prefer André though. Their youth policies may be different, but I maintain trust in André's judgement.. If that means he thinks McEachran isn't quite there yet, then I maintain an element of trust instilled in him.

Fair enough, personally I don't get it. I'm not asking for him to start regularly or even play every week but he's hardly playing and he's not developing.

Yeah, he's not even playing regular reserve football which is a worry. A loan deal in January is very likely, which we can all take solace in.

I was on another forum at the time but after Josh nearly lost us the game at Villa Park last season he was getting stick Kalou would have been proud off.

If that's true then there are some true idiots out there who apparently know little about football. But it doesn't even matter what fans on a forum say. Except for the manager, only the media can actually get to a player and there's no way a young (English) player would receive stick if he didn't perform after coming on.

Even if he was playing reserve football, it wouldn't have mattered. He outgrew that level of football a long time ago.

Reserve football isn't regular that's the problem in England.

Yeah. There are reforms coming to that though, it will be good for British clubs. The case of McEachran will solve itself through his hard work on loan deals, that will come in January.

Maybe. Romeu is probably make that dm position his this season. Maybe the same could happen with Josh in a season or two. Now it's too soon.

Swansea are edging closer to deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran on loan for the rest of the season.

McEachran has impressed in his second full season with the Blues' and could benefit from regular first-team football at the South Wales outfit.

The 18-year-old could benefit as Arsenal's Jack Wilshere Chelsea team-mate Daniel Sturridge did from time they spent on-loan at Bolton Wanderers.

Opportunities will be limited for McEachran following Chelsea's exit from the Carling Cup last month - during which he damaged his ankle - but could gain valuable experience on a sabbatical under Brendan Rodgers, according to reports in the Daily Express.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas planning a shake-up of his squad in January and has also identified Jack Rodwell as the first major brick in rebuilding his Chelsea team and is confident he will land the Everton midfielder next month.

The Chelsea manager needs to add youth as well as quality to his ageing side and, Sportsmail understands, he sees the 20-year-old England international as a key part of the process.

Bolton’s Gary Cahill is another player on his shopping list and someone who would certainly be a useful addition to the Chelsea squad given the defensive problems they have endured this season.
