Start 22
He literally played 10 mins before today! Been good so far. Definitely the best of the 3 central midfielders. But I have to say, how in the Pearce managed to make this side look so shit?! Completely lacking coherence especially in attack. But he's been shit in what he's played... CHOULO19 24,332
But he's been shit in what he's played...Yes he didn't set the world alight in the 10 mins he played in.
ja1 1,166
I think he's done well so far. Done some decent defensive work, his passing is sharp and accurate.

Gilvorak 3,734
He's had a solid game. Hasn't given it away and picked out a couple of quick passes to set up counters but I feel he could do alot more.Unless you're a monster defensively being neat and tidy won't be enough for a club of our stature.I feel like he's he's aiming to not step on anyone's toes and minimize as many mistakes as possible. Need to play with more enthusiasm and confidence in such a crucial area of the pitch.Perhaps I'm being too harsh & demanding here though. The Skipper 20,609
I will say it once more, if they don't get rid of Stuart Pearce this England U21 team will never get anywhere. Duppy Conqueror
nono 791
Wickham has such a poor first touch. Every pass to him is like a possession lost.

ja1 1,166
Josh goes off. As said at HT I thought he played pretty well, seemed to work harder in defensive duties than normal.
ja1 1,166
No surprise they score when Josh and Nat have gone off..But seriously. They need a half-decent manager, even without Ox, Jones, Rodwell, this team should be doing better.However. I think people/media forget that these are the final 8 (7 if you exclude Israel) out of a 52 team qualifying stage. The likes of France and Belgium did not even make the top 8. I think England have already done well just to get there. Duppy Conqueror
Sir Mikel OBE 4,920
We're like 4 minutes away from leaving this tournament without even scoring a goal from open play. This is terrible.
The Skipper 20,609
Stuart Pearce isn't even a League One manager. England have been absolutely dire throughout the whole tournament. I'm ashamed and I'm not even English. CHOULO19, Tomo, Amblève. and 1 other

The only place to be 11,313
Stuart Pearce is an absolute joke of a coach. Can't imagine Jose or Fergie blaming the players and not defending them to the media after a match. What an absolute joke that he's u21 manager. Magic Lamps 11,692
I agree. In 3-4 years he can for all we know have put on 10 pounds of muscle and be able to stand up to the physical nature of the PL. The ability is certainly there as we've seen at both youth level and under Carlo, but he needs to work hard to improve his strength and stamina to be able to play at the highest level. If he's willing to put in that extra effort, then great, I'm sure he'll be a great player for us. If he's not, then good riddance.Actually one can easily put on 10 pounds of muslce in 3-4 months. Josh has been by far borough's best player, it is a shame s.o. of his ability does not get a chance in the EPL

You shouldn't really blame it all on Pearce, after all he didn't give himself that job. The 'bunch of twats' did. Tomo 21,751
Roy Hogsdon and Stuart Pearce are the men in charge of England at the moment and preparing them for the future. That is a truly terrifying thought. Blue Armour 4,439
I have had a think about what to do with him this season and i think what he needs is to stay here, regardless of the game time he gets, his confidence looks shot to pieces at the moment, there's no one better to get that back for him than Jose Mourinho.I read an article on Lenny Pidgely, who said despite being the 3rd choice keeper was included and made to feel part of the team as much as anyone. Im personally not giving up on Josh just yet because he has so much natural talent just needs a fair bit of fine tuning. I feel he can benefit from being part of the squad next year and getting 15-20 games under Jose, i really do.That's what I told you at the start of last season . He should have stayed here or at least at a club with players who make good attacking runs.Anyway, I couldn't agree more with the rest of your post. I just hope Jose can restore his confidence, cause its probably been shot to pieces after last season.
