CHOULO19 24,332
I didn't watch the match (because al Jazeera decided to the french league instead ) but from what I read from Boro fans, he was very quite all of the match which seemed to by pass him. He did manage to creat Boro's second best chance (after the missed pen) when he put a player on goal with a brilliant flick (or so I'm told). I too once wanted him to play behind the striker but am coming to the conclusion that Carlo was right, he is much more effective in a deeper role with more possession that give him a chance to pull the strings and control the tempo. I pretty much watched the whole game and i can tell you that josh was their furthest man forward he created for ledesma by a very good flick.I dont know why mowbray does not play leadbitter and josh togethar they were forming a very good partnership. Josh was doing well next to Leadbitter, but the Boro manager said he wanted him further up front to dribble past players and take on shots; said he does it well in training. Completely baffles me, tbh.

Mr_President 404
http://twitlonger.com/show/koppfgMcEachran interview with The TimesThanks mate, I agree with what he said about Chelsea managers being under pressure so they don't pick youth players.. good to see he has high ambitions for his career! Mceachran 109
Agreed. Josh was doing well next to Leadbitter, but the Boro manager said he wanted him further up front to dribble past players and take on shots; said he does it well in training. Completely baffles me, tbh. He's been playing the middle of the park for a while now, it would be tough to throw him up there and expect his MOVEMENT to be perfect. We all know that when he decides to flick that switch on he is lethal. Perhaps it's his attitude, maybe his doesn't feel comfortable leaving that switch on

Leif 6,006
What a crap penalty. Honestly, he can't score, he can't tackle - he can just pass. How on earth can he ever make it as a starter at this club? I never see it happening.
Mufassir08 2,400
Missed a penalty but has generally looked good.Solid in possession as always and won the ball a few times.

YouNameIt 1,511
To be honest Ive never understood the hype around this guy. He might be good, but I doubt he will ever be a starter for us.I reckon we will sell him in a year or so.
The only place to be 11,313
To be honest Ive never understood the hype around this guy. He might be good, but I doubt he will ever be a starter for us.I reckon we will sell him in a year or so.One of the most comfortable players on the ball that we've ever developed. Brilliant vision, tremendous passer and very skilful. The problem is that he's underdeveloped physically. He just doesn't look like a professional athlete and sometimes struggles to get into games not just because of his strength but also because of the pace of the game. He could need another couple of years to get into the kind of shape that someone like an Iniesta or Wilshere is.He also needs to man the fuck up a little bit. His body language can make him look a little scared at times and that's because he's fairly reserved as a person. He has the potential to be a Modric but he needs to up his workrate and just puff that little chest out a bit more because his technique has never been in question. Almost no grace or technicality. I'm a pretty small guy (think a slightly taller Maradona) , but that doesn't stop me from puffing my chest out and kicking 6ft2guys in the knee caps. A bit more Cooper, a bit less Larkham.

Had he not been a Chelsea product we wouldnt even look at him.
DH1988 1,348
Completely true, totally agree @YouNameIt - if he wasn't from our youth academy would we be linked with Josh? No, I don't deny he's good on the ball but he's not a class talent for me, I hope he proves me wrong and becomes a starter for us I just can't see it though.
