I just spent the last 2 hours debugging a program, and typically the error turned out to be the silliest and most obvious thing you would never think of <_< I hate PLC programming

Oh tell me about it!

Had to program a pelton wheel generator using PID controller and that. The output could either be determined by flow rate of the water or using the voltage as a reference with a 4-20mA current loop. Then the whole thing had to be controlled via SCADA system.

Not fun when the network infrastructure is crap.

What PLC you using?

Well I'm still just learning about it in the uni, so I'm using EasySoft simulation software. I had an assignment to do a program to control an imaginary oven in a factory with tons of timers and counters. Took me under an hour to write the program and over two to find out that the reason why it is not working is that one of the timers was accidentally set to OFF-delayed instead of ON-delayed.

Oh sweet. You enjoying it? You using just FBD language? Wait til you start communicating with PLCs, then the fun really begins! Lol

Anyone studying in London or in Scotland? I would prefer to apply for a degree in London, rather than Glasgow or Aberdeen for example, but I'm afraid that studying at such institutions like KCL, LSE or Imperial may be too posh. I just want a normal student life, which excludes all the 'spoilt children' showing off 24/7. On the other hand, Scottish Unis don't offer the same reputation and prestige, but they seem to be a great place to study and live.
