Kostas 1,468
Official confirmationOne of the few managers I liked, one more reason to not like City.
LDN Blue 7,903
Another manager leaves a club because of transfer policies. Why don't they give managers 100% control of these things?! Good luck to O'Niell in his future, I'm sure wherever he goes he'll be a success.
EskWeston 696
Why don't they give managers 100% control of these things?! Because sometimes the club will need to sell players to bring much needed money into the club, or a deal could be too good financially to turn down even if the manager doesn't want to lose said player.Suprised O'Neil has walked, i wonder if there is another player to be sold that he wasn't happy about other than Milner..... Kez 2,727
Rate O'Niell very highly must be something to do with the Milner deal somethings upset him. Villa's loss and he's a massive loss.

Fulham Broadway 17,314
Billionaires dont come into football to become less wealthy. Randy Lerner had made it clear that O Neill would have to sell if he wanted to spend. With Yids and Citeh making it now a 'top six', Villa have been stopped in their tracks unless they spend... BRMC 12
I was in the bookies when i heard this and everyone let a gasp together. It really is a shock him leaving this close to the season it must be over the milner saga.. shame but we will definitely see him around again soon even if there arent any jobs around at the moment
ZanSnake 1,211
May be frustration over the Barry saga which he still had, and which seemed to have rekindled with Milner. In someways, i would have done the same thing, the fact that you are willing to fight for the best possible position but your top players keep leaving, how are you meant to fight when you have no say if the player leaves or not?The matter of the fact is that it is a repeat from last year, and it seems it's just the same thing going on and on and O'Niell probably felt that instead of staying in a club where a player leaves after having a succesful season, he can go to another club where he will be able to keep his star players and build the team for the best possible team with them included. Madmax 9,219
Shocking. Very likable guy, am sure he will be back soon, maybe to take Mancini's seat when Citeh fail to qualify for Champs League
LDN Blue 7,903
Sven-Goran Eriksson, Gareth Southgate & Bob Bradley (USA Coach) have emerged as favourites to take the new role. I do love how Sven is linked to every available managerial job that turns up.. West Ham, Fulham, Wolves (once upon a time) & now Aston Villa!
