magic weeds 446
Word is that Ferreira might be shipped to Benfica to soften up a possible Dadid Luiz deal.
chrismada9 1,948
Two things:1) Why are we planning to sell Bosingwa. Since returning from his injury, he has really played well for us2) Why are we assigning Brano to right back?? Yes he plays well there, but didn't he say before he doesn't like playing there?? Edited January 14, 2011 by CJ Revo
chrismada9 1,948
Chelsea are stepping up their efforts to land Ajax right-back Gregory van der Wiel. The Blues' owner, Roman Abramovich, is ready to bankroll a £12million move for the Dutch international, to replace Jose Bosingwa.Bosingwa is on his way out of Stamford Bridge and Chelsea are ready to listen to offers as they look to shake up their squad.Discreet enquiries have been made about Van der Wiel, and it is believed Chelsea sounded out Ajax and the player's representatives last weekend.---------------------------------------------Source: Mirror Football---------------------------------------------

chrismada9 1,948
Exactly! That's why I'm thinking twice about agreeing to sell Bosingwa in order to get this guy! That's a real steal IMO!
Vincent 403
Please watch the Eredivisie before you say things that he's good or something. vd Wiel was terrible against Spartak Moscow, he comes forward many times, his cross is very weak. His performances this season for Ajax are very bad, he is one of the weak links in Ajax' squad.

joziblue 0
Greg vd Wiel is a good option. We haven't had an effective right wing since Arjen Robben moved on and vd Wiel seems far less injury prone than Arjen. The obvious alternative is Adam Johnson, who has the pace and shooting power of Robben. He'd be more expensive of course but we have several big-name players in our squad we could use in a swap deal to offset Johnson's price.

But getting Van der Wiel would be a good step forward to bettering our team.

madalista 30
This is because he is in a 'bad moment' or this is because he has no potential and overrated ?in style he is quite similar to bosingwa imo. id prefer azpilicueta or rafinha they r much better better with the ball and will give better attaicking options
chrismada9 1,948
Rather than van der Wiel, I'd love to see a player like Sergio Ramos at Chelsea, but Real Madrid would ask for too much money for him!Mind you, Gareth Bale left him for dead at times last night! LDN Blue 7,903
Mind you, Gareth Bale left him for dead at times last night! All Bale did was go faster down the wing than him. One-on-one he isn't that great again defenders, not to mention he's started diving now (just ask Xabi Alonso)£40million, Harry? You must be mad. Ivan is good defender, but he is better as CB then RB. We need some explosiveness on that downside, and Van der Wiel makes sense. It is why if we sell Bosingwa he should be our top priority along with Sanchez and a creative player.
