Steve 10,227
I think at the end of the day he is a squad player, do not see him in our strongest XII think if he is in form he could be in our starting 11 most weeks. He is always working hard and his pace and dribbling is very good.

northernblue 2
His age is the only issues IMO. He was actually one of Liverpool's most creative players last season but for some reason fell out of favour (I think when Rafa began to lose the plot.Six million isn't a lot in today's money and we are getting a proven, versatile Premier League player. I agree that Carlo needs to bring some younger players in but Yossi is still a quality player

Positives are that will probably be a squad player, can come on inject pace, as a supersub. hes also not going to have a timmy tantrum if hes not a regular starter...and 2-3 years out of him, he might just be worth itHowever, £5.5 m seems a lot for a 30 yearold and will be worth 10p at the end of his contract, and Fenerbache were the only other team interested. Would have personally hung on to Stoch, or gone for Ashley Young -and it doesnt send a very good message to potential youngsters, Benayoun couldnt get into a less than average Bindippers side last season -so what does that say ? i think it also show the club are going all out for thw CL next season.... BlueLion. 21,491
if that turns out to be true we will no longer be in the top 4.In Yossi's best season in terms of his performances and consistency, 08/09, Liverpool finished second. The season before that they finished fourth, and last season he was arguably their best player! Your 'reasoning,' or lack of, is undermined by your cynicism. Give the guy a chance. diskoviolente 425
Torres and Benayoun were the only decent Liverpool players i think.I like Yossis style, he looks really good on the wings and his crossing is pretty good as well.He is better than the late Joe Cole imo. Blueboy 14
I see him as the new Juliano Belletti; a versatile player, always committed, experienced and not destined to be in our starting line-up.
zolayes 14,489
I am starting to think it might be a good signing after all... It was the fact that coming from scumpool he would need to be put in quarantine orperhaps deloused

Ollie 4,400
I'm confused at the reaction tbh, i'm actually very happy he's signed because i think he is world class and the type of midfieler we need at Chelsea regardless of age. This age stuff is annoying because he's still good enough and 30 is a very good peak age nowadays. We'll have him from when he's 30-33 thats hardly old. Man Utd still play Giggs and Scholes and they still prove year in, year out that if u stay fit, u can play upto any age you want and man utd have always done it. Sherringham and Giggs both got player of the year in their late 30's because they were still good enough. We've been dying for that tricky kind of midfielder who has a bit of flair and can score goals without just relying on lampard to bag goals from there. Fuck age, he will prove to be a great signing for the few years we have him and the main factor is that he's premiership proven and in a big team too. Liverpool used him awfully last season and look what happened to them. Yossi has energy to burn, can't question his fitness at all.

We Hate Scouse 10,326
the point is we sold stoch for a 30 year old who will only take game time away from youngsters, anyways.. everyone's opinion will suddenly change, once the season starts. What exactly was we meant to do about Stoch. He rejected a new contract in February. Was we meant to force him to stay?? He isn't good enough for Chelsea anyway. Yes he had a few good games for FC Twente (The level of football played in Holland is very poor!) , but didn't exactly shine in the world cup. Milan 17,957
I bet Benayoun will very soon realise Lampard is way better than Stevie G.
Ollie 4,400
I genuinely believe Benayoun is a quality player, i always thought that at West Ham and even moreso at Liverpool, a tp 4 club really (Although i'll never forget his miss at the Bridge last season). I know 100% that he'll be excellent for us.
