Rubber bullets 1,183
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/8622316.stmAlthough judging by the headlines, Rooney will probably win it.
EskWeston 696
Pah, Rooney had won it a long time ago, although i don't think he has done more than Drogba.
Steve 10,227
Drogs has done as much as rooney has if not more. But i dont think he will even get a look in.

Luke 60
Although Drog has a better goals to games ratio, Rooney has this in the bag, the nations darling.
Badboy 1,526
Rooney is the darling of english media (not football media) the media hype him up so much lol. If drogba was english he would be given a knight hood.

Laylabelle 9,536
Yeh if it werent World Cup year reckon Drogba be in with a better shot but can only see Rooney winning it sadly..and no doubt young player blah blah.Still...least we've got a player nominated
Swoopz 183
Drogba's tally sheet is as follows:Goals: 25Assists: 11Appearances: 26Minutes played: 2411Rooney's tally sheet is as follows:Goals: 26Assists: 5Appearences: 26Minutes played: 2475Now keep in mind, Rooney has been out for the last few games, which is keeping up his goal to game ratio. If we eliminate Drogba's last 3 games, his goal to game ratio would be above Rooney's. Another important fact are set pieces. While Drogba does take free kicks, unlike Rooney, he doesnt take penalties. Rooney scored 5 penalties in EPL this season, didn't miss any: 2-1 win over Arsenal4-1 win over Portsmouth (2x)3-0 win over Wolves2-1 win over Liverpool Why on earth is Rooney considered a better player and favored to win the "Player of the Year" award? Surely, its because hes English, which is ironic since the sport has been trying so hard to condemn racism. Ollie 4,400
to be honest, is doesn't really matter what i say or what we say, Rooney will win it because without him, man utd would be 6th now and we CAN cope without key players as has been proved for 5 years. Jon 18
I agree, Rooney has been the lifeline for United this season. And no doubt the English get preferential treatment, but that's the way it goes. But honestly the award means nothing, I mean Ryan Giggs got it last season for christ sake..
