That midfield three will get overrun defensively.

It could spell trouble defensively, yes, but we see with all of the great Europe that if you dominate the ball it sort of masks defensive weaknesses. Barca for instance don't play with a pure DM. Nor do Real Madrid or PSG. They have players who can put in a shift defensively when necessary but their teams keep the ball so well that opponents don't get many opportunities.

It's easy to say that on paper but not easy to implement it on the pitch. Sure, Barcelona do not play with a typical defensive midfielder but they do have Busquets who helps shield their defence and team in midfield. PSG have Motta and Matuidi - two combative, physical players who are way different than those you put in the midfield. Madrid don't necessarily play with a defensive midfielder but look where has that got them.

On paper, Nainggolan could be our Busquets, Cesc our Rakitic, and Pjanic our Iniesta. A shield/worker and two magicians. A bit like Conte had with Vidal, Pogba, and Pirlo.

Gotta disagree with you there.

Pjanic does more in attack and thats what we need.Pjanic has this season scored 11 goals and has 9 assists and why would we pay over 50m for Koke? He is good but it would be stupid to pay over 50m for him.

But Nainggolan is more a B2B midfielder rather than a midfield protector like Busquets. You know that. All the 3 that you named like to get forward and they are different from the Juventus trio you mentioned.
