the wes 7,212
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti will be without the services of Portugal international Jose Bosingwa for some time as the right-back has gone under the knife in a bid to rid him of a problematic knee injury, according to Mirror Sport.Bosingwa, who transferred to the Blues in the summer of 2008 after a prominentrole with Porto, returned to his homeland in order to be assessed by aspecialist in Lisbon. After consultation between Chelsea physiosand the specialists, it was agreed that the ligament would requiresurgery in order to prevent a worsening of the problem.Bosingwawill therefore be out of action for around three months, and will misskey club fixtures against Arsenal at Ashburton Grove, Manchester Cityat Eastlands, and Everton at home. The defender will also be absent from Portugal's crucial World Cup qualification play-off with Bosnia. Portugal manager Carlos Queiroz isreported to have said: "We have spoken with Bosingwa to try to lift hisspirits and it's a bad blow to be without him for the play-offs. chrismada9 1,948
FUCK!! Our only consolation is that Ivanovic has been doing well in his position lately
Rubber bullets 1,183
Well we still have Ivanovic, Belletti, Paulo Ferreira and if necessary Essien to fill right back.
CFC58 22
huuuuuge blow. Can see us dropping some points without him and ashley cole playing together.
diskoviolente 425
bad news, but i can´t see us loosing too much because of him and Ashley being forced out of the game. The way i see the things is that we now defend like in the Mourinho-days for a while, meaning that our fullbacks aren´t involved in the attacking so much (except for Ivano and possibly Belletti if they feel capable bombing down the pitch)... EskWeston 696
This is a blow to us thats for sure. He was in some great form.We do have Ivanovic to cover there and also Ferreira, so hopefully we will be able to cope, but i would have prefered Bosingwa to play, especially against Arsenal. NoFear 23
A blow for sure.. But not so much of a worry when we have Ivano, Belleti and Paulo as cover !! Hope Zhirkov gets fit nw and gets to play in d left back position until Ashley returns !!
northernblue 2
Will we go shopping in January for a back up? Not sure who is available but with these sorts if injuries you can have complications so he maybe out for longer. Carlo may opt to get someone in - esp if they enforce that transfer ban next summer. BlueLion. 21,491
Not really sure how to react to this in all honesty. Gutted the player is injured because he certainly is a benefit to us when he is fit, but Belletti and Ivanovic have been in decent form of late and in truth, we haven't particularly missed Bosingwa in my opinion. Rambo 1,729
Bosingwa is class. But so is Ivanovic and he'll do a good job fitting in his position.
